  1. Hello, @Up the Maggies. It's nice to say hello and to be welcoming you. PON should be a good place for you to come and chat Notts.
  2. Solid update, I wish the site all the best with expanding the team and I value the efforts of everyone involved. I’m keen to see future enhancements to both the site and team.
  3. This news about Meadow Lane is brilliant! We've needed these upgrades for years, especially a new drainage system to avoid waterlogging. Matt Hallam's team worked miracles under difficult conditions, and their hard work has definitely paid off. This investment is not just about improving the pitch but about bringing our club closer to the top tier of football excellence. It shows the club’s ambition and sets a strong foundation for future success. Thanks to everyone who made this happen!
  4. I hope Connell Rawlinson isn’t in the starting line-up; he tends to make errors. While I value his dedication to Notts, I’m not convinced he’s up to par anymore. I’ve felt this way even before last Saturday. I mean no ill will, as I’m sure he does his best, but we need stronger players. Our current form should motivate all players to prove their worth for a starting spot. This suggests we could recruit better talent. When Notts concedes goals, it often dampens the team’s spirit, and it’s hard to predict the outcome from there. We seldom show the resilience needed to bounce back. I’d suggest Adam Chicksen for centre back since he hasn’t been effective on the wing and might benefit from a more defined role to regain his place in the starting eleven. Apart from that, I’d keep the team mostly unchanged and work through the errors.
  5. Sam Austin stepping up to acknowledge the fans in such a heartfelt manner is precisely why this club feels like family. It isn't just about the 90 minutes on the pitch; it's about the ongoing support, the shared highs and lows, and the collective drive towards success. His adaptability across positions showcases his commitment to the team's cause, something that we, as fans, replicate in our support from the stands. Let's rally behind Austin and the squad for the challenges ahead!
  6. The comparison between the current state of affairs and the Fullarton era really puts things into perspective. It's a reminder of how far we've come and the obstacles we’ve overcome. Yes, the situation isn’t ideal, but turning our dissatisfaction into boos only adds to the pressure on our players. They need us now more than ever. Let’s channel our energies into positive support and help reignite the spirit of Meadow Lane. We’ve weathered storms before; we can do it again together.
  7. Loved seeing Grealish and McGregor play for Notts. It's those kind of loans that make me support the idea, despite the downsides.
  8. Crewe will pose a challenge, but the last time we faced them in a cup game earlier in the season, we didn’t field our full squad. This could give us some unexpected advantages. I’m unsure if they fielded a strong squad, but on paper, I like our chances, especially with the match being at Meadow Lane.
  9. Newport is a tough away game. They’re strong on their home ground, and currently, most League Two teams could likely beat us. Our morale seems low with little sign of improvement. An early goal and a strong performance would be ideal, but it seems unlikely.
  10. Notts’ performance declined after Gillingham’s equaliser. I think Gillingham’s push for a second goal, and then a third, either before half-time or soon after, shocked the players. We left everything too late and missed our best chances to make a real contest of it. I’m somewhat disappointed with the squad overall, but it’s hard to single out individual players when I know they’re trying.
  11. Solid in defence and creative in attack, Stuart's vision could be just what the Magpies need. Can't wait for the next match!
  12. He’s a brilliant young talent. I hope we integrate him more into the team. Gradually introducing him into games as a substitute would be a good start. From what I’ve seen, he seems ready for football, so I hope we give him that platform without hastily sending him out on loan.
  13. Cheers to the medical team at Notts for all their hard work with the lads! It's no joke dealing with long-term injuries, but sounds like Bajrami’s taking it in stride and Scott’s managing well. It's about more than just physical recovery; it's the mental battle too. Staying positive and keeping at it is the key!
  14. Massive congrats to James Sanderson on the professional contract. It’s heartwarming to see a young, hungry player get his chance and truly grab it with both hands. His humility, talent and enthusiasm shout 'Notts County' through and through. The club has done well to recognize and lock down his potential. Here’s hoping he’s the first of many such success stories from our academy ranks.
  15. Maynard's commitment of three and a half years gives the club some much-needed stability. Looking forward to see how his philosophy translates on the pitch.
  16. We could certainly pick up a few pointers from Stockport County’s defensive tactics, even though I felt they played a bit rough and some fouls were overlooked. Nonetheless, it’s undeniable that they’re a competent team and we held our own against them. There’s no disappointment in that. Our players gave their all, which is all we can ask for. I believe Aden Baldwin deserves special mention for his stellar performance in our defence tonight.
  17. David McGoldrick and Jodi Jones were unfortunate with attempts outside the box. Any thoughts on if we need to shake up our attacking strategy?
  18. Luke Williams really gets what this club is about. We just can't afford to stand still.
  19. I think what strikes me the most about Macari is his humility combined with a clear passion for the sport. The way he talks about his experiences, the learning curve of playing regular league matches, the initial challenges of a new way of playing, it's all very relatable for anyone who's tackled change and growth. His mental fortitude alone is inspiring, not to mention his evident skill on the field. Even when he wasn't in the squad, he remained positive and eager to contribute. That's a sign of a committed player. I for one am excited for this journey he’s begun with Notts County.
  20. Just when you think you've figured out football, statements like "We're more unpredictable than the league" humble you. It's a reflection of the unpredictable essence of football, and I'm eager to witness the unfolding of this potpourri of surprises on the field.
  21. Does anyone know their usual formation? I don’t anticipate many changes from Luke Williams, and I can’t envision him altering the formation. He appears content with it, but tactically, we might play more defensively and closer to the goalkeeper. I’m hopeful that we can achieve a positive outcome. It would be beneficial for us.
  22. I was unaware that he was a coach at Swansea City. It appears he’s done quite well for himself after retirement. I’ve always believed he was superior to a League One/Two player.
  23. Harrogate will be in a curious state of mind considering their current form. I don’t think we need to overthink, but rather focus more on enhancing our performance. The upcoming weekend match could be a pivotal game for this season if it turns out well.
  24. It would be a nice to see Macca score his first league hat-trick. His current form is impressive, and his relentless running on the pitch is a significant factor in this. His constant movement not only showcases his physical prowess but also his tactical understanding of the game. It disrupts the opponents’ defensive formations and creates opportunities for his team. Walsall, on the other hand, is a team that shouldn’t be underestimated. Despite their current standing in the league table, they possess the potential to pose a formidable challenge. Teams often grow and evolve throughout the season, and their current position might not fully reflect their capabilities. The progression of the match could be gradual, with both teams taking time to gauge each other’s strategies and adapt accordingly. The second half of the match could be the turning point. This is often the case in football, as the teams would have had the chance to regroup and strategise during the half-time break. Player fitness will undoubtedly play a crucial role in this match.
  25. Owning our assets would be great, but it depends on the costs involved. Having our own training ground could lead to extra maintenance expenses. Coexisting might be more beneficial. As long as we have a home at Meadow Lane and a good standard training ground, I’m content.
