  1. is this just to help man city get off with their punishments? it does not sound fair at all. it just plays into the hands of the bigger clubs. it sounds very negative and i am tired of football repeatedly changing its rules on a whim.
  2. i think the people complaining all the time have a mix of things going on, they are in a negative group of fans, some i doubt even attend the games, some of it is to just be vocal and stand out on social media. i dont interact or engage with it, i think sometimes people have valid points where seems negative but those who constantly complain just cant enjoy football for what it is. some of the comments at times directed to players on social media should be challenged by the club but we are too scared of losing fans. majority of notts supporters are great.
  3. rest in peace, he started to get a fair bit of cameo appearances after happy gilmore. its sad news.
  4. this is amazing and something i did not know, its a great story. hopefully there are facts and things out their that can validate this and be something the club can look towards preserving in their plans of a museum.
  5. with the way the programmes are going, there is room for the clubs to insert more from the fans perspective and to bring a bigger draw to them. i know it was attempted to be revived, but unfortunately, its difficult. good article.
  6. some brilliant goals, of individual ability and class. elisha sam and his efforts was just cheeky.
  7. well done to jodi, i think we are starting to see his desire and impact towards wanting to help the club continue its promotion push. hes shown a lot going forward and deserves this acknowledgement. on his day, hes difficult to play against and we need to continue to get the best out of him. i would love to see stuart maynard allow jodi to have a level of freedom when attacking. if we can get a few more goals from him on a regular basis, instead of just the assists we may start to improve our overall form. obviously its a team game but there is no doubt that jodi jones is one of our best players.
  8. tough game but I thought we handled them well at their ground, i am hoping to see a spirited performance where we cause gillingham nothing but problems. i dont think it will be easy but its our best chance to get off to winning ways under stuart maynard. the home advantage needs to work in our favour, i have been a bit disappointed as of late with the amount of noise generated and i know we can do better. i hope the players make an impact that helps encourage our support, it could be a big difference to the outcome.
  9. tommy lawton, neal bishop and kasper. a non related to football would be interesting but i think @DangerousSausage might not need that. ????
  10. i was going to say, hes never managed a scottish club before. mostly just championship teams? i wish him well, aberdeen should do better with him at the helm. the spl is not that much different from championship/league one football.
  11. what is artistic swimming when its at home? oh, its another way of saying synchronized swimming. i wished they just named it that. well done to the duo for winning silver.
  12. i went to mansfield, watched notts and enjoyed a free weekend otherwise. i did not get up to anything of interest on sunday, it was just me at home watching tv.
  13. i thought bostock, nemane and cameron were all very poor. i am more close to agreeing with @Robbie with the overall ratings. but those three players could have easily been replaced.
  14. looking at his wiki, i dont think notts missed out much on signing him. interesting to know but there is probably better free players we have missed out on.
  15. ian wright, teddy sherringham, dion dublin, les ferdinand, robbie fowler, chris sutton, kevin phillips, stan collymore and andy cole could have had more international caps then they got. fowler for me was more of a threat than cole and very unlucky not to have been featured more for england. the options up front for england in the mid to late 90s were a joke but most players needed to work well with alan shearer which is why some did not get as many appearances.
  16. i am more than happy to give him a chance as i think the club sees him similar to dan crowley, but a more fitting replacement for matt palmer. when i read that we had signed him, i automatically thought he would be more a bench player if he was not do well off the bat. its one of those signings you cant say much about until you see them play. thanks for your insight @shrewswill.
  17. @Ohh Tommy Johnson @Robbie adebayo-rowling looked good going forward towards the end of the williams era, but even he seems to be unlikely to start. i dont think jatta should play as a wing back but if he is a forward who can play as a striker or on either side, it would suggest he may fall into the wing back category. thats why i think its a shame that he does not play as a secondary striker or someone who plays a bit deeper. the signing could very well see him being a bench player, as macaulay langstaff wont be dropped. i would rather us sign players who can come straight in but we have the issue that some of our squad are very unlikely to be dropped. junior morias should be ahead of any new signings in the forward department if fit.
  18. i fear mansfield, i am more optimistic about wrexham as we can control them better. mansfield at meadow lane just overloaded us and i think at their ground they will do the same again. i would be happy with a point. not that a win would not be great, it would but i dont have that expectation. a smash and grab against mansfield would be very pleasing.
  19. its something i must remember to do, because its useful and i think prompts like this are a good reminder of how important it is. it really does enable the community to be proactive.
  20. i get the ball was different but the players from way back then would need to live the lifestyles of modern players, otherwise no matter how good they were it would be very one sided. football has evolved from these days and much of the success now, is owned to the players of the past. this is a great nostalgic clip, i wished fans were as supportive as back then now, because too many fans dwell on mistakes for far too long.
  21. i am fed up of winter and the cold, so i am jealous that you are enjoying the sunshine! dont brag, share it with us. ???????? i enviously await your next update.
  22. my aunt and uncle used to live on ringwood cresent which is very close to crown island. old pictures of nottingham are something i like to see, it shows things were like before and that comparison can be very interesting. i dont like crown island either. ????
  23. i was hoping that he might be comfortable playing as a secondary striker, but it looks like we might just play him similar sam austin or most likely a wing back. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alassana-jatta/profil/spieler/631704 his main position seems to be a striker but nobody will nudge macaulay langstaff from the top and we only play one striker. so it would have made more sense to sign someone who can play a bit deeper like david mcgoldrick. i am obviously assuming its true and that we will sign him.
  24. its good to read about former players, when jj [former admin/ writer] started the alumni series i really looked forward to deep diving into them. that is why i am glad @Chris brought them back. this is fantastic read @Robbie, i also enjoy your posts and writing. ????????
  25. was this a development league for reserve players? the pontins league sounds weird.
