  1. its very easy to see where notts went wrong, the space at times is a joke and we dont seem to be defending as a team. its just silly how we did not regroup or try to limit their space, sutton looked very structured, notts very disconnected and mostly due to the defence.
  2. it shows that the defence is not quite up to scratch with the players in front of them, i think we have a good set of players but they need to defend better together.
  3. defensively, if we dont control the game we should not play the high line and should revert to playing deeper. i think sometimes its a evil for us to try to play pretty passing football when we are not in the control to do it, i would prefer us to hoof it away and then get the midfield to hold the ball better. we just dont do well when times realise how to make us weaker. there is no fight after that or change.
  4. its aiden baldwins turn to say sorry now.
  5. i also thought these were in place, referees at our level will always been inconsistent with what should happen. i swear some of them just make it up as they go along.
  6. its good news, plus if it is to protect us from low offers at least something may be in place for us to gain from his time at the club. i personally think whilst we are struggling his stock value will be somewhat lower. so there is that but its great news.
  7. 2 games and two red cards, yes this is the cup but its silly. hearing luke williams say that aden baldwin should have left the ball to the keeper, but decided to needlessly put in a challenge says we are not coping with the pressure. it is disappointing because this and just a single shot is not what we should expect from this squad. its very poor, but i have the faith that once we get a win things will start to improve. i just worry that it might take awhile. personally, i would look to williams to try to adjust things. either change who starts or tweak the formation.
  8. brill video, just a shame he had to part way after aidan stone got sent off. we can be better than that tho, i dont blame jim o brien either.
  9. it needs to be phased out and more focus on kick it out given. i did not boo but i heard it and whilst i dont agree with it, i do agree with @TheSkipper.
  10. i agree with @Piethagoram, that omari patrick looked good. omar sowunmi looks ok in average teams, i dont think we would get the same type of performances out of him.
  11. richard butcher rest in peace
  12. he has on twitter too, i appreciate his kind words but at the same time we need to see it on the field. if the players are truly sorry, they will put to bed this past 5-1 defeat. work hard and make sure we dont fall so easily. i wont hold it against them if they do.
  13. welcome to the pon site, @JC1966.
  14. just so easy, how notts made things for sutton. they were great but we looked like static dust.
  15. he said that its a positive that we did not get beat by double figures, i dont agree but everything else he is spot on with. even his decisions are very redeemable, it was like we did not do any home work on sutton by the way we played. I would have felt a little better if he could own up that his selection and tactics never helped us to get back into the game. its like everyone just accepted the loss once we was two men down and after aidan stone got carded. williams is right the card did not change the outcome of the game, as he said anyone who says otherwise are lying but so would if i said it appeared he tried to change anything after stone was shown red. the game was still salvageable to a degree. so, its a bad day for all involved even luke williams.
  16. its not a knee jerk reaction, but i intended to go to this game even though i have work. yet i have decided against this, as it would mean i would have to rush to get to meadow lane if i finish at half 5 like normally on a tuesday. if i end up needing to say for 6, it would just be to much. so i have decided after seeing the terrible performance against sutton i will save my money. i am not bothered about the cup anyway, but i had intended to go to show my support. the only thing i can say is how seriously will luke williams take it? the players need to use the game to respond positively from their shocking performance.
  17. i feel really let down by the players, i usually can come away with something positive and eventually calm down but i feel disappointed. i feel more disappointed by this performance than any of the ones we had when we went down to the national league. that squad was disjointed and lacking in so many ways, but this squad has the ability to play, they just choked and made it very easy for sutton. some players did okay, but as a team they let us all down. even luke williams said this, but unlike him i think todays result let all our fans down including those who did not go to the game. if we continue to play like this its going to be a long season, luckily for us its the start and we should be okay. luke needs to demand more and better, just the basics would be a start.
  18. i think he might try to keep going until hes sixty.
  19. @DangerousSausage i dont think we should worry about people who just want the land, as if those types got hold of our club we would not be in a good position. not like our current owners. the same argument could be said about the council being awkward about the land. there was some talk awhile ago about them charging more for renewing, i also remember talk of issues when munto took over. a club should own its ground and training facilities in my opinion because it offers much more security than it does not.
  20. has charlie mcparland defected to mansfield now he works for them? i think mansfield will fall short, so i agree with kelvin wilson on that. i might try to watch the catch up show, just for more laughs.
  21. good insight and thoughts expressed by mark stallard, its great we have his support and i look forward to more 'get in' comments from him as he forms a new connection. very good interview.
  22. @Piethagoram does the tweet still load for you? could you post what was covered and said please? i just see a white box.
  23. just one year? a bit odd that, unless it was at curtis thompsons request. he should do well and prove to be one of their better players, provided they play him and fit him well into their system. good luck to him.
  24. i am looking forward to seeing how they compare to other teams, its going to be an interesting season but i think our preparation and focus on training will pay off. its almost on level with what you would expect from the top two divisions in terms of how hard we are preparing. i hope it pays off, but i am excited for our chances of gaining promotion.
  25. i am going to predict a 2-0 win in notts favour, i think sutton will make it hard with both goals coming in each period of the game. the first and second half. a clean sheet on opening day would be worth its weight in gold for morale and moving forward. its gone slow at times, but only the odd week. pre season has flown by, as did the period we signed the new recruits. it was between those when it seemed to stall.
