  1. he was walking in november and looking like he was able to do so without fuss, training is different and so is playing but its all positive signs. i dont feel we need to rush him, allow him to make a return when he is 100% better. pre season for the 24/25 season makes sense provided that doesn't put strain on him. i would rather us give him longer to make sure hes completely fine once he does return to action. players of ours in the past have been rushed and we always regret it, the reedtz understand that players need time and have given their managers chance to bring in replacements. all very positive stuff.
  2. i have every faith in the squad and jim, we have the blue print as he says and we know what it takes to win games. i just hope we are not nervous on the field and that whoever is in the dug out keeps giving instructions throughout the game as it does help bring attention to concerns. its a very good interview, i love how hes fully behind notts.
  3. i think giving him a start would be a good idea, just to help him settle in further. i mean we dont have to give anyone a rest because of the break we have had but it would be good to see how he slots into the team. i think new signings should generally play when possible, otherwise it just because a concern to fans like we had with ollie tipton and lewis macari where people think he wont be good enough. also due to the fact it helps new players settle better imo when they kick straight on.
  4. Burton Albion 2-2 Wycombe Wanderers Exeter City 0-1 Carlisle United Bradford City 2-1 Crawley Town joker Salford City v1-0 Forest Green Rovers Swindon Town 3-1 Colchester United Altrincham 0-2 Barnet Dorking Wanderers 0-0 Oldham Athletic Southend United 0-1 Halifax Town
  5. i am disappointed not in notts or luke williams, just in the fact we have lost a very good person early on into his managerial career at notts. the reasons for leaving i understand and i wish luke williams all the best. i hope whoever comes in next gives us fans the respect we deserve and we dont go back to someone who does not see the importance we play or the community. i am very hopeful we can just continue to move forward together.
  6. @Fozzy i was going to ask if it was about the drama that stars toby jones? i have been meaning to give it a watch but i dont remember what channel its on. i read that it was based on a true story but knew nothing about it before that.
  7. i am moping around my home right now, i will be coming off my computer in favour of trying to watch tv. its quite cold out and i cant be bothered to drive anywhere. with no football and the weather i lack the motivation to tempt myself out. tomorrow i will be picking my mum up, then driving to my aunt and uncles but otherwise its a no thrill weekend without football.
  8. https://www.wokingfc.co.uk/news/article/8438/dion-kelly-evans-signs/ i agree with @Chris, dion seems to be unable to fight for his place in teams. i wish him well as i like him but his career is all over the place at the moment and i just feel hes one or two clubs from falling deeper down into insecurity.
  9. it would have been nice if the govenment gave everyone a break who live on less than a fair living income. the way they target disabled people makes me feel sick, elderly people too. i was worried that winter would be difficult this past year for people due to the energy costs.
  10. he never impressed, it might be unfair to say he seemed poor because it could very well be that he needed further game time but i would not have signed him. i dont think he felt league two was beneath him but i do think his time here will see him show more desire to continue his career. i fully expect him to sign for a league one club now. maybe a team like charlton or burton.
  11. they could temporarily open up a water park. the flooding is terrible tho, i hope its not caused them too much damage. for a small club its hard to pick up from disasters like this if you are unfortunate to experience damage.
  12. i hope we go back to a 4-4-2, but have a manager that can command a switch in formation to suite how the game is progressing. i think this would be the best of both worlds picking up from previous managers. it would also give us a bit of movement with the injuries we have as we are very restricted playing the 5-4-1 formation. it does not allow us to change much with the wing backs. going to a 4-4-2 would give adam chicksen and richard brindley their strongest positions back. aaron nemane, jodi jones will also be able to play their usual attacking focused game with less pressure to drop deep.
  13. @Piethagoram i was like who is that at first but i have listened to two interviews from him, one from a tour and this. i think he speaks well but would he come to us for a chance to gain first team managerial experience? i am not so sure.
  14. very prone to silly mistakes throughout his united career, great shot stopper and for relaxes but lack confidence to with their defence and would fall a part. just to balance things. keepers are nothing without a reliable defence in front of them, its a two way street. neither can work well without each other stepping up but its harder for a keeper when teams are having a higher amount of one on one chances.
  15. charlie slater said it was shades of big sam, its nonsense. we have been given compensation and if notts wanted to hold onto luke williams they could simply refuse contact. it may cause problems for us especially team wise but its nothing like sodding off with no signs of respect. i read that big sam left with a car bought by derek pavis? i dont know if it was bought for him but i always felt that was a bit weird.
  16. how enjoyable did listening to the manager become under luke williams? kevin nolan, harry kewell, neal ardley, ian burchnall all had their own ways of talking, some of which seemed more about themselves than the club. i really disliked litening to kewell because he came across a bit arrogant and like the problems we faced was our issue not his as the manager. none of this negative stuff can across with williams, he owned his mistakes and he took account of everything. his style if a rare insight into football and i think you could ask him anything related to football, to which he would give a response fans would be happy with. its been a great journey with him, i am saddened to see him leave us. ????
  17. it makes sense, but i hope we can find someone before our next game just so that they can take the helm. i am sure jim and the coaching staff will do a great job and i hope we find people who can take each role. it would be nice if we could get jim on board as a coach for us, i think he would be great. if we do need jim to take charge of a game, i am sure he will do well.
  18. its a great interview, i think we angled it in a way to focus on all the nice things luke williams would say about his time here. williams always speaks with such clarity that i feel he could have just spoken without the prompts from the questions. yet he does show how good we have had it and how thankful we should be for what he and the team achieved together.
  19. david de gea struggled with manchaster united due to how they would make mistakes, especially harry maquire. i know a solid keeper can give a calm influence to the defence, but its the same for defenders. if defenders and midfielders do their parts to protect the keeper, then you dont need to rely on them so much. our tactics and how high notts plays makes it a problem forever is in goal. i think stone is perfectly fine, but i do agree that tiernan brooks should be given a run. i just worry we might be rushing brooks, sooner or later he will need to be tested properly but we have had keepers in the past that we rushed due to issues and it often was that the tactics needed adjusting or a better player in a defensive positon were needed.
  20. we are good enough to reach the playoffs, its possible we can still reach the automatics if the away form can be improved. our next manager has that task to make sure we are a fortress still at meadow lane but a difficult team to face away from it. right now i think the playoffs should be comfortable to achieve. our squad is a bit thin with injuries but at least the new manager has the chance to bring in a few of his own players, well via our recruitment. it will be interesting to see how we strengthen defensively.
  21. we can say one thing is for sure, the reedtz wont appoint the next manager just so that they can be pally with an ex premier league player unlike alan hardy. so, that would keep all of the names like wayne rooney, frank lampard etc out of the picture. i would not mind someone like gary rowett for a change instead of someone unknown. i think whoever comes in needs to have something about them and some experience within life in the football league.
  22. it feels like its the end of era and one which has been more than a few years. luke williams restored hope within the club, the way he conducts himself and has established himself amongst the players. i respect how he lifted the whole club as its not something easily done. i am disappointed to see him leave, but there is not much notts can do and i understand why he wants to go. its a great opportunity to for him.
  23. keep up the good work everyone! also well done to @Robbie, @menzinho, @Piethagoram and @TheSkipper.
  24. we have had some very good players over the years, tom keetley etched his name into our history books and thankfully the great season we had last season brought his name back into the minds of our fans with macaulay langstaff's record breaking season. i wished we had footage of keetleys time tho.
  25. i think with the signing of jumior morias we have been unlucky but i do think sometimes when a player is not near to starting, we have a tendency of claiming they have a knock which might be true but i dont think its anywhere as bad as to keep them from starting. ollie tipton is probably one of those loans where the parent club continues to pay their wages without the loan club having to worry about it. i cant imagine he would have been on a considerable amount either but there was no reason why we did not give him a chance. we should have given him some chances, but the most baffling part is when we needed a defensive midfielder he was nowhere near the starting lineup, when we needed a defender again he was just overlooked. i dont think it says anything negative about our recruitment. it might have just been a budget thing for the time, or to see how our squad did. the same recruitment process should bring in more quality in january to help us push on with aims of back to back promotions. i wish ollie tipton all the best, i am sure he could have done more for us given the game time.
