  1. i can see why the club appealed but i am not really bothered, it is a game that i would like to make though. i am more likely to be able with it being a night game.
  2. it will be hard to hear someone connect with mark stallard in the way that charlie did, charlie and stall were great together but i do feel the commentator role needs to have someone who is always there, so i thought this would happen with us making our way back to the football league. charlie always did his best, i wish him well.
  3. it had to happen, with notts now being in the football league i dont think it looks right that we have a commentator that does tv work over his supposed role. its sad, but i do hope we can get someone who is committed to the role and can do it for every game. i dont mind the cricket person who took over, but it sounds like its someone called dave if you go on the interview tobi gave. does anyone know who it is? best wishes to charlie, i thought he gave a lot of passion to his role.
  4. Best Signing: dan crowley Highest Goal Scorer: macaulay langstaff Most Improved Player of the Season: david mcgoldrick Most Starts in the Season: matty palmer Best partnership between two players: dan crowley and matty palmer
  5. welcome to pon @Bryn Roberts. hope you join in.
  6. its great to read up about him, i remember him working for the @Football in the Community and being involved with youngsters who had nothing to do. his career is a very interesting one.
  7. i think hes really coming into it now, its hard not to like him because of his personality is great. i hope he manages to keep fit and becomes a vital part of our team, as he did well against forest.
  8. it was a good game and the decision to start a stronger squad was the right call, it gave us a better grip of the game from the start but i still believe that stoke squad in the first half were playing in such a aggressive [in pressing} way to prove to their manager that they are good enough for the first team. we looked good, against a strong forest side and i am happy with the outcome.
  9. i feel sorry for dele ali because i think had he got the help sooner his career would not have been as impacted, but now i dont see him making a return to his very best. as sad as it sounds, i would be surprised if he makes it back into the england squad. its really harsh for him, but i think he decided well when he went to everton. i just feel the national team has moved on and with his current club, i cant see the ali we all felt impressed seeing will return. hes still a very good player and i hope i am wrong, i just think it wont peak again.
  10. will this be where we might see more of junior morias? i think we can still afford to experiment for this game, treat the boston game as if we are going into the season. give the youngsters a chance to start from the beginning this time. see how they do and bring on players in the second of half to power up.
  11. i thought he only picked up a "slight" concern before the start of the pre season, he has been involved in training but has he made any appearances so far? i dont remember him playing in the nuneaton game. hes becoming this eras stanley aborah. if not him, then danny haynes or someone injury prone.
  12. agreed @ARLukomski. i would add that will randall looks so much better on the left, rather than the right. i thought he struggled and played quite poorly, he did okay when passed too but not in a direct way. aaron nemane looked class. connell rawlinson did great. centre of midfield was superb. we looked like the team in control, with forest looking better on the counter.
  13. @CliftonMagpie its the same for me, i dont like the situations but its great for families and fans who are good to the club.
  14. the home shirt looks better in person, it looks a lot the ladbrookes shirt as mentioned by @Piethagoram when we played liverpool in the league cup and adam coombes scored.
  15. i got off work at 5 yesterday, i came home and just watched tv whilst browsing pon. today I went like many others to watch notts, i enjoyed it but find casual fans to be ignorant and annoying. we gave a good account of ourselves. tomorrow i am hoping to go for a cycle and pop by my mums. if i get chance, i want to fetch some shopping so i can stock up. i should ask my mum if she needs anything and consider doing that first.
  16. very good interview, he was always going to speak highly about the upcoming season and i think we can be in the running at the top end. its good to read his thoughts on how the club's progressing too.
  17. aaron nemane did excellent, especially early on. he turned the forest players quite easily, but they caught on and pretty much tried to out muscle him. matt palmer and connell rawlinson were class. its kyle cameron who stood out as being quite poor at times but it was a challenging friendly. he did some good stuff defensively but made some clinical mistakes which he needs to cut out. aidan stone looked good, he was better protected. david mcgoldrick looks fit as a fiddle as does jim o brien. mcgoldrick did some very good stuff. very happy with the account our players put in.
  18. they need to have financial penalties applied to them, as if they used that outside money to help them with promotion or to avoid relegation then its unfair to the teams that have followed the rules. its hard for the supporters because they have done nothing wrong, but i hope it makes them want more transparency from their board. its frustrating to read about this happening because the shows that the efl dont have a grip of accounts like they should do.
  19. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @Kevin May. we are a friendly community.
  20. i hope we do sign a couple more, i think two should do it but if we are talking about having depth i am still unsure who will be keeping adam chicksen on his toes. he performs way better when he knows someone else can take his place. a centre back would be a welcomed addition, i agree with everything you wrote @TheSkipper. i think if notts can win the likes of wrexham, tranmere etc we could be in a title race. i will take it as it comes but i feel very optimistic.
  21. i do think forest will allow us to play more than stoke city did, i think a lot of their players wanted to prove a point to their manager. i can see forest passing it around and trying to get into space but without pressing to an intense level. it should be a good game for both teams, nottingham deserves to be known as a footballing city. if we can give a good account of ourselves, that is all i hope to see but if they win by a large margin just remember how much money they have spent of their team. we are leagues a part and really its just a fun friendly. if they beat us its to be expected, they may act all mighty but we are a league two team at the end of the day. us beating a premier league team even in a friendly is something positive and worth being proud about. it will probably end up being a draw.
  22. i want to actually build on my blueray collection, i think it looks nice when you have your cases nicely displayed and its a lot easier to choose something to watch i find. as i now go on a streaming service and spend like 30 minutes browsing what they have. the issue is most i have seen, because its there and on demand it just does not have the same effect as it would if i was browsing in real life. personally i wished i had experienced what a video rental store was like, in films it looks like a great way to find something new. amazon and netflix push their own exclusive content down your throat, and put the other stuff deeper to locate on purpose.
  23. york city have been stung, the fact that he has been given a 3 match suspension shows that it was violent conduct. i wished i could find the incident but i think it might have been caught and not shown in the highlights which is a shame because i really wanted to see the incident.
  24. good call, he played in the friendly against us. he looked pretty solid.
  25. its a bit missleading spalding today to use notts xi when its youth. do we actually have a reserve team now @Piethagoram? i thought we did not. if it was our reserves i would have thought some of the fringe players of the first team would be getting minutes.
