Transfer rumours : Charlie McCann to Notts?
i think we do need someone more able to be attacking minded, with the ability to hold onto the ball better. with robertson i am not so sure we need to bring in someone on loan but i agree with @Chris if its an option to buy, at least we can retain him if he does do well.

Weekend chat Fri 26th - Sun 28th
i went to see notts yesterday, ended up going to have something to eat in town with @CliftonMagpie and @TheSkipper. it was good to get back to meadow lane, plus catch up with two good friends. today, i have been to my mums and fetched her shopping. right now i am relaxing watching the tv.

Holocaust Memorial Day
the holocaust is such an horrific even, millions of innocent lives lost. its unthinkable that a nation could cause so much damage, tearing families apart and ruling by such horrible fear. its a dark chapter in the history of humans. a reminder of the depths to which hatred can sink. the scale of the atrocities, the systematic extermination of people based on their race, religion and political beliefs is unimageable. the faces i have seen of the innocent are haunting and very saddening, especially the faces of young children.

discussion about match highlights and extended versions
the media team does release footage that a person captures with a phone, he's usually stood pitch side and i think someone else stands else where to capture chances from the side of the pitch which are great to see but so many key incidents are cut out of the proper highlights. they are basically goals, a missed effort and the occasional foul that leads to a card.

Red Card or just a Yellow, standard of refereeing?
very dangerous and reckless, i thought you were not allowed to foul someone from behind? he just steamrolled through jodi jones. no effort to win the ball. if that not dangerous and violent play i dont know what is.

FA Cup Watch
wrexham could have a massive home game if they beat blackburn. maidstone would probably fair better against coventry. but despite luton being in the premier league how good of a draw have they got? imagine if they managed to upset them and win.

A Trip Down Memory Lane (17)
sky sports should learn from this, capture more footage of the fans and that for me is the only fair delay to having a game played. i bet this did not have an irregular kick off time. its great footage, nice piano playing too.

Lucas Covolan, did Notts choose the wrong Port Vale keeper?
great moment for english football and for maidstone, but i think we would be better off working with what we have. fair play to him because he is very much a cult hero for maidstone.

discussion about match highlights and extended versions
do you watch the highlights? i used to like watching the extended highlights that notts put out, but we dont seem to ever share footage that could be controversial. the tackle from luca stephenson is nowhere to be found. some of the referee decisions that lead to free kicks or even goals never appear. its almost like the league does not want fans talking about these crucial game incidents. if notts has the power, i wished they would release better quality highlights especially in the extended version.

Match Discussion: Game 30 - The Bluebirds (H)
barrow did look more brighter on the ball than we did, how we managed to stay in the game with some of the chances they created i dont know. nobody should be bashing stone though, he was great. it took quite a while before notts started to pick up, but once we did they looked a lot better. it was weird seeing someone much smaller than john bostock giving him such an hard time. i think bostock had one of his worst games, with his passing and falling to the ground. defensively he did well but we missed his energy and involvement in playing further up. i agree with @Chris, barrow were average but at the same time we lacked creativity. it had a draw all over it.

1991 Division 2 Playoff Final Notts v Brighton.
i have only seen notts have success the one season under kevin nolan and then the seasons with the reedtz. this is well before my time, so i dont know much about it. i do know we have a great run at wembley and after this things did get better. i would love to see more fan stories about this.

Stuart Maynard Anticipates Notts County Debut After Unforeseen Setback
some managers come into a club that is doing well and quickly want to change everything the previous manager did and i think its great to see that stuart maynard acknowledges that he does not have so much to do but take the reigns and slowly bring in what needs to be done. if he can improve the defence, then we should be able to start signing eieieieio

Stuart Maynard Press Conference Pre Barrow.
i am still getting used to someone other than luke williams talking about the club. stuart maynard comes across as you would expect, he sounds like he has been watching the players train more than he has been encouraging them do things the way he wants. i am sure he is offering guidance but i think more of that will come from having watched a game with his own eyes. i am hoping he shows a strong touchline presence as this would be a huge positive. i thought luke williams did well most of the time on the sideline but ian burchnall and neil ardley were that great. they seemed more happy with how things were heading without any real concepts of seeing out games or changing them. i really hope maynard is stronger in this department as once we go two goals down it does seem the game is over, no matter if we can get further goals. we just go on to concede.

Steve Cotterill
its a good appointment on paper, he has a lot to do in order to secure forest green. you would have to say he is of the ability to steady the ship, but he cant be seen as a long term option. if he does well, he will soon jump to another club. if he fails, he will be dismissed. if he is average, then he might manage to hang around a bit longer but steve cotterill is known for wanting more and more resources. i do think he should be able to transform them but only for the short term, personally i think he is more an average manager these days. a very goo experienced manager, but average in terms of what you should expect. if forest green are happy to stay in the league under him i can see it happening, if they want to become a strong league two team i think could help with that but nothing long term.

Kian Breckin to Notts?
i suppose it depends on if he is of real quality, if he is like a callum mcgregor or jack grealish we would not say no. if hes not all that special or ready, i think we could afford to pass on him. it all depends how true the rumours is. just because someone drops notts, stockport and crewe in to the mix does not even mean he will be signed by a league two team on loan. i will hold my judgement for if he does sign and if not, i will come back to reply on my thoughts on where he does end up at.

Burns night
???? i am not meaning to offend but haggis is disgusting, much of the scottish traditions like it are foul. they have done well to make it so widely common because i am not sure you can actually enjoy it.

Financial and other stresses at Edinburgh City FC
football really does need to start learning to operate a break even cost, or at least to an amount owners and clubs can afford to pay off themselves if danger lurks in. its very saddening to see all the clubs in trouble,

Match Discussion: Game 30 - The Bluebirds (H)
i think its a game that we cant read to much into with regards to stuart mayard too. hes had time to instruct the players but to flush out any mistakes will take time, even if the performance is perfect by notts on saturday we should still be mindful. i am sure maynard will be a fantastic appointment but the next few games will say more about the squad than it would about him as our head coach. i am hoping that we dont change to much, i dont think there is the need for that. i am hoping jaden warner starts. it would be nice to see him. i think the rest of the squad picks itself and i think maynard may go with sam slocombe in goal if he is fit.

Notts County Provides Comprehensive Injury Update on Players
baj was looking good prior to his injury, i thought he looked like he could make the centre back position his own and then the injury happened. i did not think cedwyn scotts injury looked that bad initially but i am glad both players are recovering well. i think cedwyn scott and matt palmer were very two players we have missed.

A trip down Memory Lane (5)
this seems like a great achievement to have seen live, i suspect we were the underdogs and that fans were surprised that we won by so many goals. it seems jimmy had something very special with the players that lifted them for certain big games.

pleased to see such a youngster doing so well at an amazing level, to get gold at that age is amazing. this as to be him and his family?

Where are they now: Hayden Mullins
i liked hayden mullins when he played for notts, i though his experience helped and when we pushed him into the centre back position i though he did well enough. it was a shame we did not have a bit more quality that season but he seemed a good player.

Latest injury news
a bit overdue i agree considering. we never seem to issue much information about some players. the lewis macari and will randall issues seem weird. i am not suggesting they are not ignored but will for one seems to be injured more than he is ready to be selected. macari comes in and out, did well when he played and then mysteriously was not mentioned. very good video and update from notts.
