Loan Players Good Or Bad Idea?
well you would want players like mentioned in this discussion, over loans which never seemed to be given the chance i.e ollie tipton. we have no idea if he could have been a useful signing but because he did not play much and with luke williams never seeming to give him a chance it makes it rather a pointless signing. i think loans should only be explored in areas where signing a permanent player might not give us further strength in that position. i would rather see a good loan signing be made, than for the club to sign someone who clearly sits on the bench or out of the match day squad completely.

Notts County History Watch.
i love this @Robbie, i always keep an eye out for pon's otd and other historical things. we have a popular facebook group where i used to post about former players connected with important dates or upcoming games. it was nice to learn about the history of the club.

Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Railwaymen (H)
i am looking forward to the game, crewe will be a different situation to the last few home games and if notts keeps the right momentum i believe the result will go our way. if we see signs early on that macaulay langstaff is involved, then we should be able to make something positive from the game. dan crowley and jodi jones creatively should be our threat. i think sam austin would be a good call to be given a start, but i dont see anyone making the way for him. personally, i would put david mcgoldrick on the bench to rest him a little.

Goal Line Technology.
i think any level which is considered professional should have goal line technology, the lower leagues being league two and up should not be overlooked. it would be beneficial for those times when the ball is unknown if it had crossed the line. it might not happen often but it is justified to make sure the right outcome is played out.

sit or stand? away games ????????♂️
some of the comments from fans is quite embarrassing, i have been to every away game this season and countless times i have had my view blocked. not everyone can stand for 90 minutes, i can but choose to sit because i dont want to block other fans views. i do this out of respect, which some fans seem to forget that our fanbase needs to get along with each other. yet there are some calling those who sit, which is just silly. those who want to stand just go to the back of the stands, allow the front to see. notts fans cant help but being embarrassing at times.

Tiernan Brooks watch
i am inclined to agree, @Piethagoram as been calling for it and i think it does make a lot of sense now. he might also improve the defence which is something mentioned also. hopefully he continues to do well at rochdale and we dont get blind sighted. my concern is that if he does well, they or another club may want to sign him. the temptation of playing first team football must be strong and we should start giving him a chance once he comes back from his loan.

Film Recommendation on BBC i Player : Mr Jones
the leading actor is the nutter from happy valley? i will give this a watch when i have the time to commit. if anyone thinks about googling the film title, don't just go here https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m001k3tw/mr-jones there are so many other similar named films. from the description it sounds very interesting.

Where have they gone? Missing PON members we need back!
im thankful for the members of pon who give me something to look forward to, i feel i have made friends and its given me somewhere i feel able to communicate. i know people will come and go, but the majority of posters are people who make me feel like i do about the site. when someone drops off or loses their way, some might not notice but i do. everyone is probably busy right now but i hope that no matter what religion, politics, race etc we can continue to make the site fun. i would hate to see anyone active leave.

Academy / youth games
i dont like how notts has branched into separate social media accounts, at the cost of the main account sharing the news themselves. i get its important that they do have their own social following but the clubs main account reaches far more people and its very first team focused. i have thought about going to youth team games, but i find it difficult to commit with working hours. i have noticed that notts play closed door games against bigger teams academies, which makes sense. many thanks to @Robbie.

QPR massive championship losses
its scary to think how much losses the top teams down to the championship make, what is more alarming is how the higher amounts are falling down the leagues. it wont be long until many league one teams are losing such high amounts. football needs to take better care of its finances.

FGR cull of football senior staff
if it works for him and fgr so be it, cotterill clearly is a manager who likes control of his own future. director of football can help, but i dont think many lower teams are setup right enough for them to work. the money is better spent on players.

Weekend Chat - Friday 16th - Sunday 18th Feb
friday i ended up doing more overtime, with all the layoffs that have been occuring its put a burden on those who have remained. im very against the reduced staff, but at the same time i want to make sure things are handled well. besides extra pay is never a bad thing, its going to be put to good use. ???? i went wrexham saturday by myself, @CliftonMagpie has been unwell and @TheSkipper was not able to get down to nottingham in time. i actually enjoyed it, despite the awful officiating. sunday i fetched my mums shopping and stayed over for sunday dinner. in the evening i went out with my dad and uncle for a couple of drinks.

Handball rule
to be honest, i think it was handball. at the time i felt it was very close but i think his arm movement before and after does not help his case. yes, when the ball hits him its very close to his shoulder, but for a brief moment he raised his hand and i think it touched just under at that moment. i have seen another similar goals disallowed.

The Making of Pride of Nottingham: An Interview with Chris Buckley
liampie commented on TheSkipper's blog entry in Black and White Memories: Nostalgia for Notts County Fans with TheSkipper@Robbie i felt the same, as i mentioned when you joined i am on the autistic spectrum and have found making friends difficult. i have here and its great to see new members come on board. i wished more fans would be open minded, dabble in the conversations for a week or two and just give it a proper chance. there is plenty of room for social media but pon is very much more notts county.

Luke Williams watch
well if swansea were to sack luke williams anytime soon, i would be very disappointed for him. the club needs to rally behind him more and the players, because from what i keep reading their issues come from much higher up. williams needs to be given a transfer window to get rid of players and to bring in new faces that perform better than the existing underperforming ones. a lot of common sensed swansea fans are saying their issues has always been with their defence and being unable to score.

Remembering Granny Pie
i have said it a few times before, i found pon via twitter. back then i was a very young teen and found myself unwelcome on it talking about notts. i had comments being very unpleasant, so i thought i would give this site a try. @GrannyPie was very quick to make me feel at home, always did and I found myself having a lot of respect for her and @super_ram. @Chris has also been very supportive, but its due to gp and super that I felt welcomed almost as if they actually knew me. as i grew older, i got to them gp and would chat on here and messenger. when i was involved in an accident at work, gp was the first outside my family to reach out to me. i felt very saddened when i learned that gp has passed on. i am thankful of her friendship, as i am with all of her family. they are all good people.

Stuart Maynard Hails Notts County's Resilience in Hard-Fought Victory
i am pleased for stuart maynard, i feel certain that this will be the boost all needed. its been awhile since we last won away from home and that probably crept in at our home games with everything else going on. macaulay langstaff was great, getting him more involved will lead to chances. very happy to see how we have responded after the Gillingham defeat.

Match Discussion: Game 34 - Red Dragons (A)
wrexham are a difficult team and are in good form, but they do have a habit of conceding goals too. defensively, notts needs to be strong if we are to see the game out. i dont question that we have the ability to score, but out scoring wrexham at the cost of poor defending seems unlikely. personally right now i think it might be a 1-1 draw, i would be happy with it.

Macaulay Langstaff Goalscoring Phenomenon.
hes an incredible talent. for all the years we have wanted a young good striker that could finish well but also do other work on the pitch. its great to see him doing so well in league two. his success here as been a joy and i really want fans to appreciate his efforts but also enjoy it whilst he is here. this form will start to attract interest from clubs and those willing to pay a good sum may tempt notts to accept, but worry about this when it comes. now we enjoy his efforts and performances.
-
Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Exiles (A)
by far the best performance notts has showed for awhile, even before macaualay langstaff scored we looked more organised and a threat going forward. i could not make out what happened with the penalty, but i agree with stuart maynard that it was misfortunate for us because we defended very well. there was times it needed to be a bit better, but it was never at the cost of newport looking like they would score from open play. i thought luca ashby hammond did well when needed. the tactics did make a difference with maynard tweaking things, newport did not react to it and it was just a good win. it felt like it was more of a step forward than just a win for a new manager. it gave hope and with our away form being so poor, at least we might improve on it.

Jodi Jones Record Holder.
we all know jodi jones is a special talent, its great to see him assisting and scoring when he can. i think that is all he needs is a few more goals this season to his name, otherwise hes unplayable going forward. i love how hes confident and eager to get the results needed. if we go behind, he does not drop his head, if anything it makes him more determined.

Norovirus
i wish you both a speedy recovery, its horrible when you pick something up on holiday and i know you were both looking forward to the holiday. i hope you managed to enjoy it, did you both become unwell near the end? that would be something at least.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - The Gills (H)
@Piethagoram i do think signing a striker for that amount of money could have been used to bring in more quality in much needed areas but i dont think we can write off alassana jatta. i do think his height may be a blessing, but again, the money could have been better spent.
