  1. its a great interview, its also better that the club answer questions that fans are concerned about than ignoring them. when you avoid questions it leads to rumours and people speculating, when you answer and do well, its the best pr anyone can hope for especially when you are thoughtful and honest. its a brilliant interview.
  2. hes still a very good player that has a lot to offer, i think it will be a great signing for dagenham and redbridge.
  3. its a very sensible approach by our manager, luke williams knows we need to keep our feet on the ground and focus on each game as they come. its easy to become complacent but when you approach things like this, it keeps you working towards the long term goal. i think this season is just as incredible as our last campaign, such great work going on by the club and coaching team. luke williams is the king!
  4. it sounds like it will be a book for fans who enjoy collecting things relating to the clubs history, i might pick it up and give it a read. @TheMagpieCircle should release it as an audio book.
  5. i am very thankful for what notts has achieved since our darkest day, which turned out to be one of the best things for the club. the reedtz brothers are just a breath of fresh air. i like how they have said away from things, yet have embraced fans without dangling any carrots or took things personal when it has not gone quite to plan. i mean the worst thing so far, is the season where some fans did not think neal ardley would achieve a playoff spot for us. luke williams replacing ian burchnall has been a magnificent decision. its not just williams, ryan harley and the coaching team gives us a lot of support. its a great structure which not every lower tier team has. yet staying on topic, i really appreciate williams for his approach to embracing fans. i think its him who truly understands what we bring, rather than people inside the club. it massively changed under him and this fan connection makes a difference within the club. hes a very good manager, i am glad that i no longer hear criticism from fans who go on about not having a plan b. i hope we can continue to grow with williams and his squad, he knows what we have and works well coaching the players. hes a superb find.
  6. Norwich City 1-0 Birmingham City QPR 1-1 Coventry City Port Vale 0-0 Bolton Wanderers Reading 2-1 Burton Albion Joker Gillingham 0-1 Mansfield Town Salford City 2-0 Newport County Halifax Town 0-1 Eastleigh Rochdale 2-1 Southend United
  7. i know we said similar with forest green rovers, but colchester are a team in poor form and one that we ideally would win. obviously their position does not paint a full picture but it seems they struggle. it would be disappointing if we dont throw ourselves at them and try to secure a clean sheet, alongside a good performance. i dont see luke williams changing much. our form should help going into the game.
  8. i am glad you got your tickets sorted @Fan of Big Tone, i hope @George L enjoys the game too. i think the home tickets will sell fast, hopefully, we put more fans in the jimmy sirrel end and avoid selling that out to mansfield town fans. they do us over with tickets for their games at times.
  9. i thought he just lacked confidence, and fitness was a bit questionable but otherwise i thought he would have come good given more time. there was a bit of quality about him.
  10. now that is something special, great build up play but that goal is on another level.
  11. jamal campbell-ryce he was a good player for us despite the people who called him. one of the better wingers we had during the trew era, alongside jeff hughes (he did not play for colchester).
  12. top five. i will take that, keep going everyone and well done!
  13. forest green should start improving, he does seem a bit biased and acting like he needs to make excuses. i would not want to listen to him much, luke williams is far more entertaining for good reasons.
  14. i have not known it like it is now, even the one good season in the hardy era was not this good. the fans have really stepped up and notts has embraced the rewards. look at the impact it makes during games, not just to the excitement of attending them. it makes meadow lane bounce and away from home really does feel like we are the loudest. for me the salford game takes some beating in terms of how our support helped on the pitch, it was just an incredible experience.
  15. david mcgoldrick was class throughout the game, he played very well and he did show some pace to keep up with jodi jones. i thought the pass angle would be difficult for jodi to find mcgoldrick but it played through nicely. supposedly he winked to the kop before he scored. that would have been class if true!
  16. i dont remember him at all, he made 3 appearances? was this during the trew period where we just signed youth players on loan and expected them to be improvements over senior squad players?
  17. tough love i think. we will have games like this and as luke williams says, they were a very good team. the thing is, we need to see the game for what it is. a vital home win that continues our winning streak and undefeated run. that is a very special feat for notts to say that this is our first season back in the football league. we can analyse the footage and try to make improvements, but not all teams will press us like forest green rovers did.
  18. i remember jimmy sirrel attending games back when i first started watching notts but i never had the pleasure to speak or encounter him in person. i do often wonder what he thought of times where notts struggled, like when we were relegated from the football league. plus our promotion and even how things are going now. one of the times i spoke to colin slater, he told me that i would have enjoyed the football that jimmys teams would play.
  19. its not a record that any club wants to have but its not one that i can see being worsened for awhile. cheltenham may have had more chance if they had stuck with thier manager, just got behind him and their players. who knows?
  20. hello, @Middlesex Magpie. welcome to pon.
  21. hello @Niederbayern Pie, welcome to pon.
  22. he looked like a player that could do a job in the championship, with potentially going onto the premier league in a few years. he did look a very good player, @Piethagoram.
  23. i hope he manages to put his feet up, he needs to retire and just enjoy life without any further stress or pressure. he must have a very sturdy heart having seen many clips of him losing it. i hope he does not have any neighbours because he could become obsessed over every little thing, then end up on that neighbours from hell show. lol
  24. could we get this extended to the match officials yesterday? they missed so many obvious things. jodi jones was obstructed near the corner flag, with the fgr shoving jodi after and squaring up to him. it was solely to try to get jodi booked, as it did make him look like the culprit but i saw the push and the reaction to the words directed to him. at least we won.
  25. @Elite_pie do you not think tar was guilty of poor defensive work? he headed the ball quite a few times where it went straight to forest green rovers. he did well going forward but he was not solid defensively at all. a lot of his defensive work could be scrutinised. i think the rating of a 7, compared to cameron who was just as good for a longer period seems inconsistent to me. Stone 5 - poor positioning and reactions for fgr first two goals, his delivery had luke williams shouting at him. the pressure seemed to get to him. Baldwin 6.5 - he was there when needed, mostly performing above average. Brindley 7 - solid in the middle of cameron and baldwin, no criticism from me. Cameron 6.5 - defensively not perfect, but he did some good stuff and communicated the back line. going forward, i thought he was very good. Austin 5 - he never really got involved or looked like his usual self. very average. Palmer 7 - he had a quieter game but remained the heart beat within midfield. got stuck in defending and put a lot of effort in. Bostock 7.5 - defensively he was good, a bit sloppy with his tackles and blindly sliding in with no effect but ran his heart out. Jones 8* - he looked lively and coped well with fgr putting two to three players on him. it allowed others to get involved. Crowley 6 - i thought he was brilliant in the first half, he created a lot of chances going forward but did go quieter in the second half. McGoldrick 7.5 - just like jodi he did so much work that made fgr want to mark him. he performed very well. Langstaff 6.5 - great goal in the first half but and held onto the ball well, but was not as much of a threat in the second half. TAR 6 - very poor heading the ball especially due to his height, stray passes and clumsy defending. his yellow card being a highlight of this, he did do it for the team. he made two attacking mistakes where he would have had an easy effort on goal but unselfishly passed the ball. it was the wrong call and both teams he could have scored ended up with very poor passing. his saving grace is going forward but he was not excellent or great by any meaning. just above average imo. Rawlinson n/a - silly pen but i still believe that the fgr player dived. JOB 5 - very poor, not himself and lost the ball more than he won it. Chicksen n/a
