  1. its great to see his assists, i love watching jodi going forward and this season is one for him to remember for sure.
  2. i think all of the english leagues are difficult, the national leagues a joke with only two promotions and one of those being via the playoffs. harrogate and sutton dont realise how special their achievements are. league two this season has shown its difficult but hopefully we can start to steady and go on to improve next season. with four teams going up its not as hard as it could be. league one is quite a stretch if you dont have the money to invest in the players. i think once we do get back there we will need a few seasons just to establish ourselves so that we dont come back straight down to league two. the championship has to be our dream for any team but you need to have the right balance of finances and good enough players. i think its likely teams will do a us or yeovil.
  3. it sounded like a brilliant season even if big sam decided to go to bolton at the end of it, he delivered promotion and @Chris has mentioned that we played arsenal in the pre-season after selling jermaine pennent to them. i cant imagine finding my clippings from papers these days, as i dont buy any and prefer to read content from more credible sources.
  4. i think much of the reactions against sutton were caused by frustration, the way the sutton players behaved and got on to our fans would only in turn put the pressure back on our players. i do wonder why some fans consider themselves supporters but thankfully thats few and far between, twitter can be an ugly place for any football fans but i do agree that we are in this together. i would have the club to be in the jamie fullarton times again. despite the poor transfer window, its our first back in the efl and i am very thankful for the investment of our owners.
  5. i think the way seasons are going and the current weather, months will make their own mind up on what is summer and what is not. but leap years are interesting, things like this and turning the clock hour backwards. at what people did someone figure these out? ????
  6. week days its all work, non stop and i am reaching the point where i feel overtime needs to be reduced. saturday i was looking forward to going to bradford even though i did not have any company, i felt disappointed when the match was called off because of the wasted fuel and time but thats football. i decided to drive to manchester to meet up with @TheSkipper, which was good. sunday is always usually the same for me, shopping and visit my mum.
  7. it sounds like a good idea but i think more focus on having former players attend games on a regular basis should be explored too. i am sure it helps with hospitality and its an area within football that makes good money.
  8. great saves, i have seen both many times before and i can see why england did well with both gordan banks and peter shilton. very good keepers, shilton was very flexible and cat like, with banks being such a great commanding keeper and shot stopper.
  9. going into the transfer window, i did have hopes that we would sign an experienced defender but we brought in jaden warner and lewis macari permanently. both looked okay at the time, i did hope that we would still make a signing that made us feel that the defence would have someone fresh and experienced to help reduce the mistakes made in games. i like jaden warner but i think we dont help him at times with repeatedly changing where he starts. i think we need to figure out who the best player is in the middle of the back three and when that turns to four or whatever it does not lose shape for certain players. i love that our owners are ready to invest but my point about the jata fee, we could have spent it adding depth to cover the injuries and avoiding some of these pointless loans we have had. its been a poor season for bringing in players on loan, almost like its been an after thought or panic signing.
  10. @Fozzy i dont see us dropping that low but playoff seems unlikely. the more fans make it a difficult place for our club and more lost the players perform it looks like mid table to me.
  11. but our owners have no ambition. ???? free beers for the booers. ???? its good news because the club could make a fortune taking custom away from the navi and other pubs. pubs which only want our custom when the crowds are up.
  12. happy birthday @super_ram, i hope you had a good one.
  13. @Wheelbarrow repair man why do we care about something that does not care about us, when we are debating this on a fan site that does care about the club? is this not redundant if the post thinks we are too small? the club should let david jackson or whoever is from the bbc ask the questions. they do a great job and will push questions which effect the club but unfortunately with the results, i guess the club are trying to do pr damage control. this is starting to form a different conversation though unrelated to tonights game.
  14. welcome to the pride of nottingham, i'm glad to be saying hello to you @ShannockPie.
  15. there is not a single issue happening at notts right now, its more a collective of problems which could have been avoided but has turned into a giant mole in. i dont think stuart maynard is much responsible for the current poor form, i dont think luke williams would have done much better. the shine has gone off this season, there is little for the players to fight for and morale in the camp is clearly at the lowest since the reedtz brothers arrived. its not the end of the world to be average, i dont complain that we are not in a promotion race. i am concerned that we cant seem to win games but again this is less maynard but the players themselves. have the players stopped fighting for the highest possible finish? maybe the enjoyment has burst and its become mundane for them? or could they be going through the motion in an endless loop of little sign of getting back to better form? the weirdest thing right now is how much better we look away from home compared to the last handful of games at meadow lane. what do you think can turn the season around? what can help our form? simply a few back to back wins? i am very curious to explore this.
  16. he has been making a lot of poor decisions, the amount of times he just sticks his feet in without thought of what might happen. its a vast difference to the man that made everything look so simple. now he reminds me of someone learning to ice skate for the first time, which is embarrassing when you take away the ice and put the person onto a football pitch. maybe it is the injury, but he seems to panic more for no reason. you would expect better from someone of his experience but as of late i can see why other lower teams have allowed him to leave. i think its more will and desire personally that is stopping him from being his best.
  17. lets not underestimate sutton, we know they can do well against teams even if they are very inconsistent and are in poor form. they ruined our start of the season with their thrashing, so if there is any fight in the squad i hope to see it tonight. if we can get the points it would massively help stuart maynard, but anything else wont exactly benefit him. i am very nervous because portions of our fans will be vocal and its unknown if they will get more to be in the same voice. i hope we can just sing and encourage the lads, whatever is at fault for the downfall in form it was never really a maynard issue to begin with.
  18. potential replacement for if they lose paul mullin? its a good signing but marriott has been heading in this direction which takes some of the hype tint of it. he should fit in well with wrexham and i think he will do well.
  19. Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Norwich City Cardiff City 0-1 Stoke City Barnsley 1-2 Derby County Blackpool 3-1 Bolton Wanderers joker Accrington Stanley 0-0 Crawley Town Barrow 1-2 Bradford City Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0 Halifax Town Southend United 0-1 Aldershot
  20. the usual for me, i will be at meadow lane tomorrow. no plans for after the game as of now, but i might go call by my dads to see what hes doing. sunday will be the usual routine of fetching shopping for my mum, then wait for sunday before going back home to beeston. i am glad to have two days off from work. a little time to relax and kick back.
  21. if we can work hard and ensure that we are trying to create chances in all areas of the pitch, i think no matter what shape we or crewe play it should be an entertaining game at meadow lane. notts need the result a bit more than crewe, they have picked up and are in some good form. they will fancy their chances, as will we.
  22. i think scott robertson is settling into the role and personally i think hes a decent player, once he has been around our camp long enough i am sure we will see more from him but i also have to point out how honest he is about himself. he knows there is room for improvement, hes focused as a team and all these things are good to see in a player of his age.
  23. how we would do if we did gain promotion is debatable, i think our better creative players like jodi jones, dan crowley and aaron nemane would get more time on the ball. we would have to strengthen and mostly in the defence. yet this is a situation to be discussed later on. right now we are not looking like strong candidates to finish the playoffs, we need to pick up a few more wins but i do believe we can achieve it. saturday will be a big test for notts, if we can get a good result there it could help massively and of course teams are dropping points like flies. others are becoming more stronger and are showing good form, we need to do the same.
  24. i bet over the years you have put much more than you have won in it, and i think that is amazing from fans who support the life line scheme. its something i wished i could get involved with but the spaces are never their and its restricted to a set amount if i am correct.
  25. america make football seem weird, the fireworks and the lack of reaction from the crowd. the goal was a good passing move, was it special? no. you would expect those players to do that all day long. there is a hype machine with certain situations and this is the prime example.
