I donβt think they need to visit the opticians, but the tweet is amusing, like the blind leading the blind. Perhaps they should ring up the ghost hunters? To rid themselves of their troubles.
Perhaps itβs the manager who needs glasses, after all, he selected the squad and instructed them. It could very well be a case of the blind leading the blind.
Stone 5.5 - no major errors, but didn't look confident. Distribution not as good as usual.
Baldwin 6 - some classy touches, but dodgy positioning a few times.
Brindley 7 - looks much better in the centre, some crucial blocks.
Cameron 6 - looked better going forward than he did defending.
Austin 5.5 - didn't offer his usual threat, looks better on the left.
Palmer 6.5 - fairly typical game, but didn't dominate like he can.
Bostock 7 - good at both ends of the pitch, took his goal well.
Jones 8* - a constant threat, caused them problems and also defended well.
Crowley 6.5 - good when he was involved, but had a few quiet spells.
McGoldrick 7 - always a threat and tracked back well. Clinical finish for his goal.
Langstaff 7 - typical Macca, non-stop harrying and lost his markers to score.
TAR 7 - gave us a new attacking dimension on the right.
Rawlinson 6 - did ok apart from conceding the penalty.
JOB 5.5 - won the ball and lost the ball in equal measures.

Still not sure what to make of the game. I know Luke Williams always compliments the opposition, but I don't know if they're as good as he made out. We were awful for the first 20 minutes of the second half, and never regained the control we had in the first half. I don't think we played that well but still got the 3 points, which is supposed to be the mark of a good team. It will be interesting to see the xG stats and I think they will probably be in our favour, but we made hard work of it today.

I would be more critical of Jim O'Brien, Aidan Stone and Sam Austin, by their own standards, each were just above average.
Rest of the players did well in various levels.
Thank you for sharing the ratings. I perceived Tobi to be largely positive when he came on, although he is a bit weak with heading and did give the ball away needlessly. However, I wouldnβt downgrade him for it. Similarly, I believe Kyle Cameron was perfectly fine.

As for films, I donβt have a particular favourite as my preferences vary depending on my mood. Iβm quite fond of most Pixar and Dreamworks animations, as I tend not to enjoy some of the more serious genres like horror. While I can watch them and find some enjoyable, I generally prefer content that is more family-oriented. Star Wars could potentially be one of my favourites. Interestingly, I actually prefer the films that were released after the original trilogy.
I wouldnβt classify myself as a film enthusiast, but I can appreciate most genres. My favourite actors are Nicholas Cage and Johnny Depp, both of whom are distinct yet excellent character actors.
Secret Window is a very interesting film, as is Memento.

During his first loan, I was quite fond of Sam Graham, although he did become somewhat nervous and prone to mistakes over time. I hope he does well. Iβve noticed itβs only a short-term deal, and I donβt believe itβs conducive to his development to not be settled with a club that will play him for the long term. I hope he finds his footing in the National League.
I concur that Sam Graham started off well, but he quickly faded into obscurity and became ineffective. I lost my regard for him after that, and when he returned for the second time, I seriously questioned the rationale behind it.
I recall his stints with Notts, but Iβm unable to comment on his performance as I didnβt view the matches. I wish the young man all the best in his transition.
It may be the international break, but I think I've managed to cobble together a prediction league round regardless. The rules are the same, please post your predictions by kick-off time (Saturday 3pm) and you get one joker each. Good luck!

If this licence can be enforced and owners are made to adhere to stricter rules, it could significantly alleviate the debt issues we often see. Sometimes, owners may have a tendency to gamble, throwing caution to the wind and overspending in the hopes of achieving promotion. Thereβs much that can be done, but this is certainly a positive beginning.
For more detailed information about the changes, you can read further here. I found the podcast quite enjoyable to listen to; itβs highly informative, especially in relation to football, which is valuable given the scarcity of such resources.
The introduction of some reform should significantly help in addressing the issue of overspending. Thereβs a case to be made for fans declaring their budget and how itβs being allocated. This could instil a sense of realism among fans and a better understanding that a club canβt continually spend money on signings, transfer fees, wages, and agents.

The situation with Exeter is disappointing and not beneficial for football. If they fielded a strong team, they should consider reimbursing the fans who paid to watch the match.
As for the EFL Trophy, that result is truly embarrassing! What a complete shambles.
Regardless of whether the fans care about the cup or not, this result is simply unacceptable. Conceding that many goals is disgraceful for a professional football club, much like Sheffield United.

I terms of whatβs posted on twitter, Tomβs comments were relatively tame. I can tell you right now the replies to Nottsβ tweet about him giving away a pen or the reaction (overreaction) to the tweet about MK Dons scoring will be much worse.
Feels like heβs picked on the wrong guy here. Especially when you see the same names posting things like βX needs to do oneβ or βX is so badβ (thatβs the expletive subbed version!). If he replied to one of them I canβt imagine the backlash would be as bad, they offer no critic and are just personal insults. Instead, he went for someone who slightly criticised what he did on the pitch.
Connell Rawlinson might think that Tom Williams is the cause of the problem. He probably doesnβt like Tom because of the negative comments from people who claim to know better about certain players. Itβs not really Tomβs fault, he just shares his opinions. However, it can be risky when he interacts with people who are rude, as it can seem like he is endorsing their behaviour. Some of the negative comments about Rawlinson have been responded to, which isnβt a good idea, even if you are upset. Thereβs a difference between tweeting something that should stay private and responding to rude tweets. Itβs easy to see why it might seem like he is the target. I donβt blame Tom, but it would be better if he avoided these kinds of interactions. It never reflects well on you. Connell should block and ignore these people.
Itβs disheartening to see Connell Rawlinson publicly criticising someone for merely expressing their thoughts. Whether he has the right to do so or not, some things are better kept private. However, considering the criticism he likely receives, itβs forgivable. Hopefully, Tom Williams wonβt take it personally and will distance himself from any abuse. This would demonstrate that heβs not there to cause trouble but to share his thoughts. From what Iβve seen of his tweets shared here, Tom seems like a bright lad who hasnβt done anything wrong.

Youβve got to admit that at this level Deeney is still a great player even though he is nearing the end of his career, similar to McGoldrick for us, these players have played alongside the best players in the top division and have a wealth of experience to impart to lesser gifted players.
Some wonderful angles on FGR own highlights
Β
The highlights from Forest Green are indeed impressive, with the low angle lending a contemporary feel to the match. Itβs clear that Connell Rawlinson did clip their player, but it seems he was justified in his attempt, making the decision appear severe. Their player wasnβt poised to score a goal and even handled the ball after contact was made. If Rawlinson was the first to make contact, I would dispute the decision.

Great way to get us to click on it ????, good luck to him.
As for Jesse Debrah, Iβm not concerned about missing out on him. I suspect he demanded a significant wage, and unless he was going to be a starter, that might be the reason. I canβt say whether we approached him as I donβt know, but I think itβs unlikely.
Jesse Debrah seemed like a promising prospect to sign, but there are plenty of options. As long as weβre winning, itβs not much of a concern. Hopefully, by January, weβll have someone lined up because Ollie Tipton and the other lad seem far from ready for our first team.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reece_Brown_(footballer,_born_1996)
Forest Green Rovers
I remember him signing for Notts 9 years ago. Talented player
I didn't recall the name until I saw his wiki photo, then I remembered him. He was too lightweight and easily overpowered back then, but he was young. On paper, I remember feeling the loan would give us some pace, but he never got going.
I wasn't even aware he played for Forest Green Rovers, I wished I had checked in hindsight as it would have been interesting to note how he did if he played against us.
i dont remember him at all, he made 3 appearances? was this during the trew period where we just signed youth players on loan and expected them to be improvements over senior squad players?Β
I donβt recall him at all, does anyone else remember any of his appearances?
So what plans have you got for this weekend, or what have you been up to?
We are still on the Isle of Wight the weather was pretty awful for part of the week but itβs considerably better these last two days, today weβve been using our old farts bus passes to go to Cowes on the excellent bus service. Β
Tomorrow Iβll be keeping an eye on the match and hoping Notts win, weβll probably go on the bus again to our favourite pub in Ventnor for lunch, itβs called The Spy Glass and itβs right on the seafront.
What are your plans?

@ChrisΒ Iβm so pleased to hear the players and manager took time to speak with you itβs great to hear.
Today we went to Ryde for the last day of our holiday and it was a lovely day, we had a nice walk along the sea front with great views of the Solent and Portsmouth across the water.
Back to reality tomorrow was we catch the ferry home and back to hospital appointments and tests for Mrs. T.
I was at the game with my partner, sister, brother in law and nephew.Β What a game.Β Notts and our fans are winning my partner over (she previously hated football).Β The play is exciting and the fans are really funny and the chants are all in great humour.Β We loved the Sutton game for that reason too.Β After we had a take away with my sister, then yesterday made our way back to Thanet.Β It was a great weekend.
Here we are again - post your predictions by 3pm on Saturday, and remember your joker! As I've taken the scandalous liberty of going on holiday while this round is on, I'll be posting the scores at the end of this round a bit later (probably together with round 9). We should express our gratitude for having Gareth Southgate as our coach. Once he leaves, we will likely regress to being an average team that can only hope to reach the semi-finals or knockout stages of major tournaments. Those who have constantly criticized him will soon realize how valuable he was. Sometimes, we fail to appreciate someone's worth until they are gone. This is evident with Germany, who are now experiencing difficulties due to their own costly errors. In all honesty, I'm not surprised by their current struggles.
i dont keep up to date with many international teams, so i was not aware about this and did not know that germany were having a difficult time. could it be because of the shift with the bundesliga seeing more foreign players join and less top german's leaving for the likes of the premier league?Β
It really wasn't such a surprising decision - Germany had won just four of their previous 17 games, an unimaginably poor record for them. And this in the run-up to the 2024 European Championships in Germany, where the team will be under pressure to deliver. A good club manager doesn't always make a good national team manager, as we discovered with Taylor, Capello and many others.
Which brings us to the new man, Julian Nagelsmann, who has been given an eight-month contract. This makes no sense at all - if you're going down the short-term route, you want someone who has managed a national team before, such as Louis Van Haal or Steffen Kuntz. Instead they've appointed someone who has only been a club manager and who prefers a high-octane pressing style that takes a lot of coaching - not something you can really drill into the players during international breaks.

I donβt foresee Oldham having much luck in the managerial department, but they should be able to find someone who can do a commendable job, stabilise the situation, and provide a platform for them to progress.
Another sacked so early in the season.
Oldham are a mess, theyβre in the National League for a reason. Unlike us, theyβre not taking the time to address their problems. They keep creating more issues, and I believe theyβll remain in the Non-League for several seasons.

RIP, thoughts are with his family.

Another sad football story.A player who didn't quite live up to his early promise.I wish him well though.
Despite his injuries, Mason Bennett has performed admirably. His ability to continue playing at the League One level speaks volumes about his innate talent, a feat most players wouldnβt have been able to achieve. I hope he and Burton can orchestrate a turnaround, as thereβs no denying heβs a striker of high quality.
i totally forgot about him, but it is good to see hes still playing league football. he has to have something about him if he can continue despite all his injury issues. it might have impacted his game time and career somewhat, but if he has a love of football just playing professional considering everything seems a good reward.
Morning all, is anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? I guess some will be travelling to Salford tonight.
We spent the night in a hotel in Newbury and this morning we are travelling to Southampton to catch the Isle of Wight ferry where we are staying for a 10 day holiday.
Let us know what you are up to or have been up to this weekend (assuming itβs legal of course).Β

i drove to salford on friday with @CliftonMagpie, meeting up with @TheSkipperΒ at the ground. it was another decent away day, but i felt packed in, in their stands and i wished i could have had a seat about half way into the game. having worked earlier in the day, it was a bit too much to stand for 90 minutes but the result was worth it.
saturday i went out playing pokemon go for a bit, before going for a drink with my dad and uncle.
sunday, i helped my mum do her weekly shopping and then had sunday dinner with mum, my aunt and my other uncle.
I also went to Salford, along with @Magic magpie, @super_pieΒ and @Callum234.
Considering how long Salford City has been owned by the former United players, I couldn't believe how non-league their ground was. It was just terrible. Nuneaton and several other clubs have such a nicer stadium.
The flooring was one of the worst things about the ground; it was just a metal shed.
Yet I wondered what would happen if something bad would happen, and there is only one area to each part where you can walk freely without meeting a bar that would force you to bend under to get out of the stand. Seriously, it seemed a poor design. I hope to god no fans to the size of ours that have the misfortune to need to exit quickly without being crushed.
Saturday, I rested.
Sunday, I went to Kate's Nanna's 90th birthday. Unfortunately, one of her friends had a heart attack and died before making it to her party. She wasn't aware, but knew she had gone to the hospital. I couldn't help but feel it was very obvious, as I am sure someone would have said they were fine otherwise without hiding it. It made the occasion feel a bit saddening for her. It was nice to see her with all the great grandchildren mind.
Wishing you a very belated happy birthday @ARLukomskiΒ and also congratulations to you and @Megan_ElizaxΒ on your engagementΒ .I hope you had a great celebration and my very best wishes to you both for your future life together.
Honestly, I don't remember him or much about any individual at Salford.
When they couldn't play football, they tried to bring on every tall player they had, which seemed very non-league. I'll try to see if there are any extended highlights as I keep meaning to join in with my own recommendations. I was surprised by how poor Salford were though.
when salford comes to meadow lane i will be sure to keep an eye on how theo does. Β

From the list I'd like us to look at Conor Keeley, Josh Honohan and Ben McCormack.
Two players that aren't on the list and I'm not sure about their contract situation are Derry City pair Cameron McJannet and Ben Doherty. We tried to get their manager before we went for Luke Williams and with us having bids rejected for Keeley, I wouldn't be surprised if we looked into the League of Ireland.
Sam Curtis is another with potential but I think he'll go higher
Conor Keeley could be a good signing, if he's willing to talk to Notts once his contract is up or if other fans are right, that he will be heading to Walsall. Whatever the outcome, I don't think Notts needs to worry or become obsessed with trying.
There will be plenty of targets, with a handful potentially playing in the Irish league.
its good that we can pick up players on free who give us more quality and depth, but i can see notts signing a couple for a fee once the transfer window opens up. nothing wrong with looking at the irish or scottish league tho.
