Always interesting to look at old maps, especially what has changed around Meadow Lane

Welcome to PON @Thaipie

I haven't been doing daily exercise or walks, it's something that I find difficult at times.

And, yes it's important that we defeat the Coronavirus by following the guidelines we are given. It must be difficult for so many people, all in different ways.

I know I won't be the only one hoping for it to be resolved soon, but that seems unlikely.

It just sucks having to stay indoors, I have tried keeping busy and, it's not working. I watch TV etc, I just want to see my parents, I won't because I'd never put them in danger but it's doing my head in.

I keep feeling unwell due to the limitations, I'm sure I'm not worst or the only one.

I hope everyone out there that reads this is keeping well, feel open to discuss how you're coping - perhaps between us we can fight some of the issues of being isolated like this.

My new blog is up now, in which I carefully analyse the many ways in which our beloved game can be improved (besides actually having matches, of course). The blog is this way.

Let's get a discussion going!

I have said on both Facebook and, Twitter that I am more than happy to create graphics. This is something that I now have more time to do and, I feel like it gives something back to the community. If you would like a cover picture, wallpaper etc, creating - please let me know.

If you do use something I design, I would like to ask that you consider letting other fans know about this.

When we think about exceptional circumstances and football seasons being cancelled, most of us automatically think of the Second World War. The other day I stumbled across this article and it occurred to me that there is loads I don't know about that time. Did you know that Bath City won the northern half of the League, only to be denied a Football League place after the war?

Good reading this. I wonder if we'll be seeing temporary regional leagues again?

Claiming to be the oldest professional club

This pandemic will hopefully be a one in a life time event.

I have never known a football season to be paused or handled in this way, but I am wondering if any other fans have bizarre or interesting stories that have disrupted the club. It might not be as extreme as the Coronavirus but I would like to see if other fans can share some past events.

What mindless TV shows get you by?

I like watching Lifetime, it's a distraction and fall of mindless stuff. Just to clarify, whilst I enjoy Judge Judy - this would easily fall into the category as mindless as most people on it have me scared for humanity.

Storage Wards is another show that I like, it's interesting at times but mostly pointless in truth.

It's more about the people who buy the lockers, which the TV producers realise.

I'm sure there's some others I could mention but my minds currently burned now, thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. ????

Will the National League see out the PlayOffs? 10 members have voted

  1. 1. Do you think the playoffs will take place or cancelled?

    • Yes, I think promotion via the playoffs will happen.
      1
    • It all depends on the Premier/Football League.

    • It's unfair, yet I can see only Barrow being promoted.

Do you think the playoffs will take place or cancelled?

Personally, I think Barrow will go up replacing Bury and, then the rest of the leagues remain the same which is incredibly unfair. I mean, it's the laziest solution to this problem.

If the playoffs don't happen (which I think is very likely).

I think it's even more unlikely that that teams within the relegation zone from the PL to League Two won't be effected, whereas they could promote the teams in the highest position and relegate those in the drop zones. If Notts happened to be in the same position of last season, I would feel this keeps the leagues status in order - without putting jeopardy to the tradition.

We are 6 weeks into lock down now, just thought I would pop on to see how everyone is doing and if you found anything new to do.

I'm doing pretty well (slightly tipsy while writing this) but I get bored here and there but I am coping.

I've have started going for walks with my brother while playing Pokemon Go (don't worry we aren't stopping to do any gyms, we are still abiding the 2 metre rule).

Baked some different things (made apple crumble today and started making brownies as well, as I do struggle to find nut free ones). Making corn beef and potato pie one day this week as well.

It's just nice to see supermarkets looking like they were before hand, a part from the flour.

This is the most logical solution I've seen so far for how the season should be settled if it can't continue.

Who am I?

Extra point for first correct guess. Answer announced Friday.

Well black gold in the form of Saudi oil that is!

Looks like all the papers are signed and the deposit has been paid. Contracts are now legally binding and the only thing left is the Owners test with the FA and we all know how well that works!

Their is a big human rights conversation to be had around this take over, but, in fairness to the Geordies, money talks. They've wanted Ashley gone for a long time and it'll be good to see St James Park rid of all the sodding Sports Direct Banners!

Good Luck to them. Politics aside, superb move for them.

The human rights conversation will be had though!

On this day 8 years ago I was standing in the away end at Brentford watching Notts play out a 0-0 draw. Notts were right in the mix for a playoff spot in League 1. A week later a 4-2 home loss to Bury proved to be the decisive result as Notts missed out on the playoffs on goal difference. Stevenage beat us to the last playoff spot. Fast forward to today, Brentford are pushing for promotion to the PL, Notts are in the Conference, Bury went bust and Stevenage are last in League 2. A lot can happen in 8 years!

Welcome to the community @Bennybigbear, how long have you followed Notts?

Right now, the thought of travelling will be far from anyone's mind.

I do wonder, with people seeming to need to isolate themselves and to pass some time discussing things.

I do wonder what your favourite holiday destination is?
