A happy St. Patricks Day to all our Irish members.

Β

My wish for today is that Paddy McCourt scores a hat trick to celebrate. That will guarantee that not only Irish eyes will be smiling tonight.

If you like your drama gripping and harrowing then give this a try out.

Β

This is the original series in which Homeland in the US was taken from. This is Homeland (which is good on its own merits) as it should have been done. Bare, stripped and severe is the only way to describe it. The detailing is immense and with it being done in Israel, the impact is much more than the US.

Β

Shown in the UK on Sky Arts, but is available around the web and on dvd.

Β

Anyone else seen it? Probably rated as one of the most realistic dramas ever.

After two defeats against Chesterfield 0-3 and 1-3, Β Notts looked to bounce back this afternoon with a game against bottom-of-the-table Hartlepool.

Β

A much changed Notts side dominated for the full 90 minutes but managed only a single goal, a strike from distance from Yohan Rutty-Smith from distance into the bottom corner in the first half.

Β

Once again the youth team coaches had an eye on next season with the NottsΒ starting eleven containing seven first team scholars, allΒ being available to play next season.

Β

A convincing 1-0 win, if there is such a thing, let's hope the first team can also grab the three points tonight.

It may well be that it's been a long day and I have a headache, but as I went through these I did start laughing.

They get better as they go along.

If they don't amuse then put it down to my tired sense of humour!

Well for me its got to be Roy Carrol i know when he came to the club i was negative but admit i was wrong.

I think he could provide the key to steady the ship and lead us to survial not the great escape.

With his voice command of the area (goal) i think thats the start a strong defence normally means the goals should come.Β

Β

Well at this moment in time I'm saying with a heavy heart it will the great escape 2

Β

Well a few months ago I was thinking about wembley the play off the championship but now its all gone wrong.

Β

But now the great escape for the second year running and i must say i don't think it the gaffers fault.

Β

We are a club with no money and have to live off loaning player in and i think thats what the problem is.

Β

The great escape last year was one of the most adrenalin scary thing in the world and going through it again

Β

i think will test the supports loyalties.Β

Quick straw poll. With the crowd being so terrible it is obvious what the majority of fans think, but what is the PON feeling?

Are we too busy thanking for last year to spot the ineptitude of this season, especially the signings, amount and pack of positional coverage?

Anyone remember him playing for Notts? What a phenomenal long throw he had, he got into the Guiness Book of Records in 1994 by recording the longest ever throw in first class football 41 metres, if we got a throw within distance of the goal he would hurl it into the area. I remember being gutted when we sold him to Birmingham along with another great player at the time Paul Devlin.

Β

Anyone else got any memories of him.

Β

Enough of these politics threads, lets have a sensible thread.

Who likes banana sandwiches, I love them, am I odd? Do others eat banana sandwiches or is it just me?

4 teams have a mathematical chance of winning the title. France need a miracle though. All 3 sides above them would have to lose and even that might not be enough because of points difference.

Β

Schedule is:

Β

Italy vs Wales

Scotland vs Ireland

England vs France

Β

England will know exactly what is needed to win the Championship. Here's my predictions:

Β

Italy 6-44 Wales. That will put Wales top of the table with a points difference of 13 better than England and 17 better than Ireland.Β

Β

Scotland 12-22 Ireland. Ireland fail to overtake Wales.

Β

England 24-14 France. England miss out on points difference.Β

Β

Wales are crowned champions.

I read a article on Curtis Thompson a moment ago, which I will link to the Nottingham Post - Here.

Shaun Derry speaks about how he's asked of certain things from Curtis Thompson and how he is pleased by the performances. He really does look a solid prospect in midfield but how long have we fans been saying? I'm not knocking Thompson, where ever he plays he gives 100% and he did have some okay games at right back but in his true position he's a joy to watch when he does run with the ball or out skills his opponents.
Β

"We've asked Curtis to get certain things into his game because he is a player who shows plenty of endeavour," he said.
Β
"Defensively he can cover the ground fantastically at times.
Β
"We want him to be better on the ball going forward and stride forward when he gets that opportunity.
Β
"He showed on two occasions when he got past the opposite side of his man and it would have been a fantastic goal.
Β
"I'm just pleased with how he's developing.
Β
"He's come on leaps and bounds this year."

What do you think has seen Curtis Thompson develop more over the 2014/2015 season? What do you make of his performances and how far do you think he can go if he keeps it up?

Keep it up folks...

Now that may not sound like a long way to some of you young uns but I am absolutely knackered.

We are finding our folding bikes really good and set off this morning for Carsington Water to ride right round it, it's funny we have walked it round and not noticed the hilly bits but we certainly noticed them on our bikes one or two were too much for our six gears (not to mention our legs) so we had to push the bikes up them.

We stopped for lunch on a bench half way round to give us the energy to do the rest and managed to get round back to the car, quite an achievement which we are proud of.

BBC Radio Nottingham have reported that Jimmy Spencer has returned back to full training, however it's unsure how long it will take him to become match fit.

What do you think of this? Positive news however you view it.

hello @7pies and @piesmare, hope you enjoy taking part and visiting the site here at pon.

I hope everyone is making today a special day for their mothers. A happy Mother's Day to all the mothers on here and I hope you have a lovely day.

Though today can be a sad time too for people who have lost their mothers or mothers who have lost a child so my thought go out them too.

We have been invited for a meal by our son and family and daughter in laws mother so it will be a happy family occasion tinged with sadness as we remember our other son who is no longer with us.

Have a great day everyone.

An interesting blog by a young woman suffering from cancer who has started a petition to stop the cuts to cancer drugs around the same time as the petition to get Jeremy Clarkson reinstated, guess which petition got more signatures?

A very sad state if affairs that people care more about a television celebrity with a massive ego who has been found to be a racist, sexist and now violent, than the Government cuts to live saving cancer drugs.

What would be the most scary film you've seen?

I don't particularly like watching horror films but I remember watching a film called The Fog many years ago and it was pretty scary.

What about you?

Will Hayhurst
Billy Daniels
Sean Newton
Taylor Mckenzie
Drissa Traore

What is the point of these signings? Apart from being young, with the exception of Newton, we don't play them. Are they not good enough? If so, why did we sign them?

Hayhurst and Daniels are particularly worrying - we signed them as they weren't getting a look in at their previous clubs, and they now sit on the bench or not in the squad? Just very, very strange.Β

How bad is it?

Noble is a complete moron who gets a yellow card for arguing, only to continue arguing and get sent off.

Carroll was lucky not to be sent off for the exact same thing, and the one who is supposed to be setting an example, the manager, also lucky not to be sent to the stands.

The management and the players he's recruited are turning our club into a farce! That's without mentioning performances!!

Assuming we stay in this division (which I know is dodgy ground at the moment, but let's hope!)

Β

Who would you...?

Β

definitely keep

Β

Maybe for the future (no golden oldies!)

Β

Get rid of immediately

Β

I'm not sure of contract situations, but i'm sure people will enlighten me as this thread goes along.
