Last night I had a dream which might please @BradtheMiller, I dreamt that lot across the river were beaten 5-2.
Let's see if it comes true, I hope so.
I have just read this and it is an excellent and accurate article on Swindon Town.
In his aftermatch report on local radio he stressed that the team had to keep emotionally detached from the game and concentrate on playing to win. Indiscipline has cost us dear this season and perhaps we are turning the corner.
It appears we played well today but perhaps that is just local reporters' bias.
Joe, do you have a second team? If not why not follow us now and again because I reckon you could buy into Lee Power's masterplan.

A letter in this month's WSC got me thinking.
Last month Football League Division One for 1982-83 was featured in the magazine. It was particularly noticeable that every single team but one won more games at home than they lost, including all three relegated clubs (Luton won 7 and lost 7). In last season's Premier League, on the other hand, 11 of the 20 teams failed to do this.
Likewise away, in 82-83, only one team (Liverpool, the champions) won more away than they lost. Every single other team lost 9 or more of their 21 away games. Last season, 7 Premier League teams won away from home more often than they lost, with another one (Southampton) winning and losing seven.
We recently broke our club record for games unbeaten away from home, and this season we still haven't lost on our travels. I don't remember this kind of thing happening in the past. Home advantage seems to be a lot less significant than it used to be. But why? Thoughts?

The cup dreams continue, though the league form has a slight stutter.
Up next at Meadow Lane is Swindon Town. Ossie Ardiles, Glenn Hoddle, financial irregularities, Steve McMahon, and John "Pizza-man 'tasche" Gorman all spring to mind.
However - what we all want on this thread is player / staff connections between the two clubs.
I'll start with Steve Mildenhall - good keeper, but following on quite soon after Cherry and Ward - as two outstanding custodians - he was oft criticised and prone to an odd howler. I do remember clearly the start of the great escape season, when we seemed to concede 4 goals almost every other game. (just checked, details were at port vale, home to man citeh, at tranmere, at oldham, home to reading, at bournemouth - all before november!).
So - Mildy; anyone for anymore...

We have a squad full of players who give their all, some perhaps not the best in ability and others have age against them but this hasn't stopped them from chipping in.
At the start of the season we wanted a keeper, either a backup or starter. Enter Roy Carroll who's no doubt became icon, in defence we have Haydn Hollis and from there we vastly have squad full of contenders for the "hero" title. Gary Jones, Alan Smith, Garry Thompson and Liam Noble to name a few.
However, who are the unsung heroes of our squad? Who for you gives 100% and gets over looked?
Who makes a difference, commits to the cause and provides that underestimated, undervalued piece of the jigsaw?
I'd like you to name that player, tell us who it for you.

Paul Dickov "I am a little bit angry because it's a game we should have won, We've had a goal chalked off for what, I don't know. I've heard conflicting reports and I haven't even been to see the referee. If the goal is given, which it should have been, then we go on and win the game".
If he doesn't know why it was disallowed and he hasn't spoken to any of the officials perhaps he should reserve judgement? Swings and roundabouts Paul, swing and roundabouts! If the goal had have been awarded, Noble still might have scored. Is Paul also a fortune teller?
For those who haven't seen the highlights - Here we go
What do you make his these comments? Would Doncaster have won? Was the goal rightfully disallowed? Thoughts?

The tie which hasn't wanted to happen just yet, hopefully will go ahead on Tuesday night.
Doncaster this season have been very disappointing, I would suspect even their own fans would agree but likewise we can't write them off. Our lads shouldn't get ahead of themselves either! We was knocked out the League and F.A Cup, so if we go into this thinking we will make Wembley without a glitch, I feel the same will happen.
I don't expect this to be the case for us, I think we will go in prepared.
Since this is our last chance to have a bit of momentum from a cup, I do feel we should treat it just the same as any other game. Yes, I'm not that interested in the JPT - I still believe it needs re-branding but it is a good chance to lift the squad, fan base and continue our good start to the season.
I think whatever the outcome it will be narrow, I feel we can do it.
0-1 Notts. Murray to get the goal.
Thoughts?

Article from the Mirror, Chelsea are apparently to become the first professional club in the country to pay all staff the Living wage....
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-set-become-first-professional-4790174
Surely this has to be a given at all clubs, I think the living wage is a little different to minimum wage, but are clubs paying below minimum???

Thankfully Christmas is nearly upon us, or I would have thought this some kind of April fools... Mind you, they are seriously on a wind up... They must be....

While checking out some Notts stuff on Ebay (other internet auction sites are available) I came across this...

Now then, does holding any of these mean that you become a share holder of the club? Just a cheeky thought......

I intended to sit down last night and listen to the game and have the Champions League on mute on the telly. After around 15 minutes, I turned the Notts game off and watched Liverpool instead. Why? Because I was bored. It then struck me that Notts games recently have been less than exciting. Now it might be different if you are there in person, but I find it harder and harder to listen to the games. Yes I know we are going well and I'm very happy about that but......
Do others feel the same or am I being too picky?

It has come about up here that Carlisle have had an enquiry about Brad Potts (midfield or RB), the enquiry from a league 1 club was to be followed by an offer in writing (not yet appeared). This much was in Keith Curle's presser this week.
Having walked down for the paper, I have been accosted by some of the natives... "looking to pinch another one of ours then are you"
It seems the jungle drums think it is Notts..
This one seems less likely to me, but with GA you never know...

No doubt people look forward to choosing who they would have win it, or they may even vote.
Another part of this program is to remember what has happened, and who we have lost in the year...
Undoubtedly this year will be dominated by the loss of Philip Hughes, but there have been others,
So Who have we lost:
Elena Baltacha, born in the Ukraine, the tennis player died on 4th May, aged 30.
Any other favourites or sportsmen and women, that have passed away this year we would want to remember....

Once again the racism via social media topic is coming to the fore.
I am pleased no end that we don't get as much on the terraces anymore although there is still the odd comment heard, even at Notts.
But like others I am struggling to understand why more cannot be done to stem the tide of abuse through social media..http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29988074

I know this is a Notts County message board but we love it when our neighbours are struggling don't we?
With the current run of form that them across the river are in how long do you think Stuart Pearce will last as manager? Do you think he will pull them round and start winning again or do you think their current run will continue? If so how long will he last in the job, the chairman over there isn't noted for his patience after all.

We were discussing films in another fred and this film cropped up.
This by far has to be the most realistic and scary film ever made to anyone who grew up in the 70/80s. It is so realistic its almost believable and could have happened if things had gone another way.
Runs out of steam by the back end, but the shock value is at the beginning and the actual bombing.
For those who weren't around then, trust me, life was exactly like that and if political decisions had been made a different way, then there for the grace of who ever you believe in...
Based around Sheffield and a East West conflict where as the UK gets the brunt of a nuclear conflict.
Very scary.

Has anyone else seen it? Opinions (especially from those of that age!!!)
