For the Mansfield game. Should be a decent away attendance.
Did anyone see Question Time on BBC 1 last night? For those that don't know it's a question and answer session where prominent politicians of different parties answer questions from the audience. I caught one little portion and Joey Barton was on (God know's why???) anyway, he made a right twit of himself when he said to the UKIP representative that her party was like the best of 4 ugly women. He said
‘All you represent to me as Ukip is the best of a bad bunch. If I’m somewhere and there are four really ugly girls and I’m thinking she is not the worst, that is all you represent to us.’
The audience let out an audible gasp. I know what he was trying to say and (without wanting to start a political debate) I agree with what he meant to say but I do think he could have chosen better words. It has caused a bit of a storm.
‘What an offensive thing to say. The ignorance that you spout it illustrates that footballers’ brains are in their feet.’
I have to say in the case of Joey Barton, I totally agree with her.

I was going to write a piece about how much i rate him and that i wish we could sign him to a 10 year contract but I think just watching this video says everything about his quality and where we would be without him & how much we need to keep him at all costs if we want to become a stable championship club
For me he is the best keeper outside of the premiership & i don't say that flippantly

We went out last night for a pleasant evening and had a meal with some friends, at the end of the meal the waitress asked us if we wanted coffee so we asked for Cappuccino (sp?) she brought our drinks and said that we could have as many refills as we like. So being a greedy sort I decided to have another one. I really regretted it because I think I got about 3 hours sleep last night, I don't know what they put in it but I was wide awake for half the night, if I have coffee at night I normally have decaff and I wish I had on this occasion.
If I drop to sleep later can someone give me a nudge. ![]()

I went down to Meadow Lane yesterday to renew my season ticket for me and George my Grandson and there was a queue! Well 3 people if that constitutes a queue ![]()
I was told I would be receiving an email and invited to the ground for a tour of the stadium and a photo shoot. I'm not sure I want to have my picture all over the internet but we'll see.
Has anyone else done this? What's it like?

How do. I'm creating this topic today cause I will be on my mobile over the long weekend and I'm not sure I can create topics, but I know I can post in them.
I'll post the playoff games as soon as they are known. 3 points for getting the correct scoreline, 1 point for the correct result.
So if Derby beat Reading 3-1. You get 3 points for 3-1 and 1 point if you had Derby to win the game.
If you pick all 3 winners in the finals, I'll give you a bonus of 3 points. That should make it more interesting.......

We've unfortunately released midfielder Michael O'Connor who has had problems with injury this season. He fought his way back into the squad towards the end of the season & was an unused sub at Wembley on Sunday.
Good midfielder who could do Pies a hell of a job, especially on a free transfer, did great for us & was a regular before his injury, definitely worth a punt!!

Wow. Just bought a new Samsung tv with 3d and it is unbelievable! Great pictures. After the initial set up I tuned into Sky 3D and a Kylie Minogue concert was on and the images were fantastic. The crowd looked as if they were in front of the tv and she was coming towards them. Very good tech for someone who has never seen it as a home set-up before.
Also got the goals for cash deal. For every England (Even though i'm Irish) goal scored you get a tenner back after the World Cup. Looks like I'll be cheering for England this year as the Republic aren't there and I get money for it!

IN DERRY WE TRUST; from the League Paper.
SHAUN Derry never took many prisoners as a player. And as the dust settled on Notts County's amazing escape from relegation, he wasn't about to start pulling any punches as a manager. Bottom and adrift when he took charge in November, the 36-year-old has kicked the Magpies into shape, with six wins from their final eight games meaning a final-day draw at Oldham was enough to secure another season in League One.
A boyhood County fan who came through the ranks at Meadow Lane, Derry shed tears of joy on the pitch, hailing his players for saving "not just a club but a community". But in the cold, hung-over light of the morning after, Derry's elation had been replaced by a simmering anger at the state of his beloved club. "The supporters of this club have been let down," said Derry, who abandoned a playing contract at Millwall to become County's ninth manager in five chaotic years. "And that's not me pointing the finger at past managers by any stretch of the imagination. Everybody has to take responsibility for what has happened to Notts County, the board included. It's been an accumulation of mismanagement throughout and that boils down to the players as well.I've been in and around plenty of difficult situations: administrations, relegations, everything that goes with it. And I've been involved with too many managers to even list. But no matter what happens, you've just got to stick in there and keep your own qualities, your own focus. As a player, you set your own standards.
"Players are very quick to push the excuse button aren't they? And as much as we should quite rightly hail staying up as a fantastic achievement, these players have to take a very close look at themselves in the mirror this summer. They have to say 'Hang on, have I done everything, absolutely everything, to warrant being called a success?' And if they've got high standards, they'd have to say 'Probably not'."
Derry knows a thing or two about poor standards. During his time at QPR, Hoops' chairman Tony Fernandes was taken for a ride by agents and advisors, leading to the arrival of disinterested mercenaries on astronomical wages. The subsequent rifts and divisions, with the likes of Jose Bosingwa and Chris Samba paid ten times more than Derry or Clint Hill for barely lifting a leg, resulted in what Harry Redknapp called "the worst dressing room I've ever seen" and relegation from the Premier League.
"That QPR dressing room was like the wild west," said Derry. "Punchups, arguments, people not speaking to each other. Everything was wrong. And on a smaller scale, this place was the same. It's just that the Indians weren't as big as the ones at QPR. QPR was on a grander scale in terms of finances, and in terms of the characters and reputations. But even then I always had my own way, my own ideas on how I would combat that situation. That's why Notts County didn't frighten me."
And why he immediately took a scythe to the squad, shipping out some 11 players on loan by the end of January, including the likes of Enoch Showunmi, David Bell and Danny Haynes.
"I don't think we got a point for the first four games. You quickly work people out and I very, very definitely worked people out that first month. With the greatest respect, I edged away from those bigger characters and tried to bring in people who had an appreciation for the club. Of course, there were two or three performances that were far from what I wanted. But generally I felt that the fans got value for money and a group of lads who gave them everything."
Most of those players like Hayden Mullins, Jack Grealish, and Callum McGregor were loanees and have now returned to their parent clubs. And that means Derry must now set about building a squad in his own image.
"The best manager I ever played under was Neil Warnock," said Derry, who will register as a player next season 'for emergencies'."And the most important thing he taught me was that you must be able to rely on the players in the dressing room. Yes you need talent. But it's just as important to have the type of player who'll run the dressing room for you. Without that, you can never be sure of what's going to come out of it. So I need to make sure above all else that the players I bring here are the right type. New players are definitely what's needed. We need to get the most out of the budget, get players who are a lot more hard-nosed to the rigours of League One football. Because I felt that we were quite a soft touch when I came here in November. They rolled over so easily, and that can't happen. League One is a grind. It's a fight. We weren't fully equipped for that when I got here. Next year, I want to make sure we are."
And after the miracle, time to reflect on a job well done. "I never envisioned going straight from player to manager," added Derry. "But I'm glad it's happened the way it has, and that's it's ended well.
"It's been full-on, it's been frantic, I've been learning on the job. This has been some education, it really has. And as an achievement, keeping this club it's right up at the top with anything I did as a player. Now I'll have a few days off and try and look forward to next season, perhaps from a sun lounger!"

SD has said Jimmy is our new number 9 for next season. About time too. We've needed a quality forward to lead the line and JS looks the business. Good luck Jimmy.
SHAUN Derry revealed Notts County faced competition for Jimmy Spencer's signature but says the forward made the right choice by staying at Meadow Lane.
The Notts boss this week tied the forward to a new two-year deal making him the first of six out of contract players to commit his future to the club.
Spencer (pictured) was superb for the Magpies as they avoided relegation to League Two, scoring five goals after he was signed on a free transfer after his release by Huddersfield in January.
According to Derry, scouts were soon flocking to check the 22-year-old's progress as he helped drive the club out of the relegation zone.
And despite several clubs attempting and failing to persuade him to leave the Magpies, Derry said his striker had made the right decision.
"This club is a great platform to play football, it really is," said Derry.
"And yes one or two clubs showed an interest in Jimmy in close season.
"But with the greatest of respect to them, I think he has made the right choice.
"Of course, I was a little bit worried about somebody taking him off our hands.
"When I looked at the scout list before every game, it was no coincidence that it was the same names and same teams every time.
"I knew who they were watching – it was Jimmy. I'm pleased he has put his faith in us."
Derry confirmed that Spencer would be the club's number nine next season, a shirt that has been vacated by Enoch Showunmi who was released at the end of the season.
And the Notts chief maintains he will have a hugely important role to play next season.
"I've told him that he's my number nine," he said.
"He is the one that I am going to put all my faith in next season."

I've got to admit, the underr17 boys were fairly good especially against the Dutch. Beautiful save BTW we might do well in penalties if we get to the WC 2018.
I know it's four years time, and that the majority of the players probably won't make the England team or the premiership. But there is a few that you have to keep an eye out for:
Tafari Moore
Taylor Moore
Lewis Cook
Josh Onomah
Dominic Solanke
All these players were exceptional today.
Well done boys

I hope for the next few days this board is quiet as we should be enjoying the sunshine out there. Just finished blowing up the paddling pool for the kids and filling it. After 30 trips with the hot water bucket and the garden hose it is a nice temperature for a change!
Enjoy and don't forget the sun cream! Dont want fans turning red with white bits. Too much like them over the river!!!!!
