  1. Bear with me on this;

    Rules:

I will post a song in which the person below will listen to and then choose a line from the song or even a word. They would then post their follow up video based around the word(s) chosen. Example 'I don't Believe' from Oasis's Wonderwall - Followed up with Pink's 'I don't believe you'.

    Posting Video:

Simply a head over to youtube and search the song in which you want to follow on with, look below and click 'Share' and then copy the link. It's then a case of entering the link into the text field after clicking 'Post'. You chosen video should automatically embed itself into your post and your safe to go.

Just add the link in which you've followed on from below your chosen video  B)

  2. There's players out there who can do a job in this league and even higher, I'm sure in a situation where someone could argue against this I might have many who don't agree but I feel with our wage budget being near to it's capacity. We should be looking to unearth gems and give our own players who are progressing through the ranks more chances.

I respect Yeovil a lot. Paddy Madden is a perfect example, shined in their game yesterday!

He's someone I know very little about but I often see his name being mentioned, I keep tuned on Yeovil down to a board I post on which is theirs and the fans are very welcoming. (much to be respected)

On loan he scored 9 in 15 games.

He signed for them full time on 2nd day of the transfer window and in his first game (yesterday - 12/01/13) He scored two goals against Sheff United. Promising striker at the age of 22, Yeovil really have found a young player who proves that you don't need a squad full of ex higher division players but one's from all walks of life who give 110%. Shame we couldn't of snapped him up :)

  3. Notts are still to make a big signing that fans hoped would be on its way after the departure of Lee Hughes. Anymore rumours? Apparently Beatie is back in Scotland training now.

On the plus side, Judgey is still here!

  4. It would be very nice to see Notts continue their very impressive away form today and I don't see any reason why they can't.Notts have shown they can come back and do well after early set backs as against the blades. They also showed how to keep a lead(which should have been greater)against Oldham.Of course the run will end sooner or later but not today I feel.1-0 to Maggies. As for the Rams I'm hoping home advantage will see us through to the next round of the cup.Looking forward to watching Oldham v Liverpool tomorrow.

  5. I was surprised to see photos of Lee Hughes at last nights match. However a great thing to see him still supporting the club, and of course the fans will really love this. There are many of us who are sad to see him leave but it is fantastic to see that he must have enjoyed his stay at the club.....a true magpie legend!

Plus nice to see a few pics of Joe and the kids:

  6. Hi mates,

I'm looking for the picture with the ram hitting the forest logo

I saw it in the past but i cannot find it anymore

Come on you rams, let's beat the red clowns

  7. I keep reading cryptic messages on facebook and twitter about negativity towards this site, what's all that about?

  8. Weather permitting Notts will be taking on Oldham who are struggling to get results, their performances last season in my opinion was pretty impressive and they have some key players. Jose Baxter poses a threat to us, which would one player whom I have marked but not too tightly because they have some very clever players. (The game against the dark side would suggest this)

I remain optimistic, I certainly believe we can get the better of Oldham.

Very much looking ahead of this game, it's going to make a positive change for me and I hope to see us play the game in the way we all know we can. Good following attacking football, which if done right will mean an entertaining match for both sides.

Please consider reading our Opposition View It's my personal favourite.

  9. it's been a while since i heard this:

    opinions?
  10. not expecting the game to go ahead, so if it does will need to get tickets on the day. i think it will be a draw

    need to see notts badly!

  11. HMV and Blockbuster are going into administration.

It's sad news, although does anyone else think it's a bad thing for the wrong reasons? It seems very easy to make the decision and gain publicity from it. This gives me the feeling it's done for a short term boost to see if they can dig themselves out the mess. Comet has gone, they've ceased trading but surely there's ways they can learn to avoid the drop. I don't personally buy the online e-shopping is ruining it, who doesn't have their own online shop these days? It's just a case of making sure your in the market price wise.

If amazon can keep the costs down, surely a bigger company should be trying to make sure they can? Thank god for Mr Trew who didn't take this option when in all fairness he probably should of done.

  12. 3rd game of the season against Pompey, and easily the most important I'd say. We really need to win this one, anything less would be a bad result.

Anyone else going? Me and the other Weymouth Magpies will be there, COYP

  13. Curle seeking home comforts

Keith-Curle-Notts-County_2866939.jpgKeith Curle was left ruing several missed chances against MK Dons after another home defeat for Notts County.

Early goals from Darren Potter and Daniel Powell set Milton Keynes on the way to victory before a second-half penalty from Jamal Campbell-Ryce gave County hope of a comeback, but the game finished 2-1.

"The players are disappointed as we have lost at home again and we don't like to lose and we need to get that resolve we have away from home," said Curle after his side's sixth league loss of the season at Meadow Lane.

"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb. They probably only had three shots in the first half and scored from two of them.

"I still thought we would get back into it as we were putting lots of balls into their box and in the second half we were creating some clear-cut opportunities that we couldn't take.

"Even at 2-1 I thought there was only one team that was going to win - and that was us. We totally dominated the second half but didn't take our opportunities."

Curle said he will look into why his team had started the game so lethargically despite meticulous preparation.

He added: "We will have a look at all the preparation and the planning that we did in the build-up to the game and analyse that as we are notoriously good starters in games. Sometimes it can be the smallest thing that is wrong."
  14. New deal for Magpies skipper

Neal-Bishop-Notts-County_2882951.jpgNotts County captain Neal Bishop has had his contract extended by a further year.

Bishop had a clause in his existing deal triggering a 12-month extension if he started more than 20 matches for the club this season.

The 31-year-old midfielder has actually started all 24 of the Magpies' League One games this campaign.

Manager Keith Curle was happy to confirm that Bishop will now be at Meadow Lane until at least the summer of 2014.

"It's great he's going to be here for another year," Curle told the Nottingham Post. "He has led by example this season and is generally considered to be playing his best football since he's been at Notts.

"He's really enjoying the responsibility of being captain and he has a great attitude and work ethic as well. Neal is becoming the complete midfielder."

Great to see his contract being extended!
  15. Can you tell me more about this Magazine. Somebody has told me this is the best sport magazine in the Uk.

I ask you because there will be my interview on it in the next month.

  17. Hello,

Paul Smith, Notts fan here (@psmithyjourno on Twitter).

Nice to join, which is the best part of the forum to start talking Notts?!

  18. Notts County are lining up a move for St Johnstone striker Craig Beattie

CraigBeattiecelebHeartsvHibsMar2012_2735Sky Sports understands Notts County are lining up a move for St Johnstone striker Craig Beattie.

Notts County are in the market for striking reinforcements after allowing Lee Hughes to leave Meadow Lane for Port Vale.

Magpies boss Keith Curle has held a long-term interest in former Celtic and West Brom striker Beattie and tried to sign him in the summer.

Curle is now ready to rekindle his interest in Beattie as he looks to fill the void left by Hughes' departure.

Beattie is well down the pecking order at St Johnstone and he has only made four appearances all season so he could be tempted to move on in search of regular first-team football.

Wouldn't be a half bad signing in my opinion, Craig as some good experience. I'll wait to see there's any truth in this before commenting further but I don't agree with some comments I have noticed regarding him being a 'reject'. Many decent players find themselves being released.
  19. How long has this forum been in existence? I have been having a nosey round (as you do) and noticed posts from 2009 , I thought it was a new site, I've obviously missed it before.

  20. Juventus stunned by Samp

<!--url{0}-->Juventus missed the chance to reclaim an eight-point lead at the top of Serie A after suffering a shock 2-1 home defeat to 10-man Sampdoria on Sunday.

Having finished 2012 with a record haul of 94 points, Juve boss Antonio Conte was backing a concerted bid to outstrip that achievement this year, and Sebastian Giovinco's early penalty put his side on the right path.

Juve's task looked easier when Gaetano Berardi saw red for two first-half bookings but the numerical advantage did little to help the hosts, as Mauro Icardi levelled the scores shortly after the break.

Icardi completed his brace with what proved to be the winner, his sensational strike rattling the Bianconeri to condemn them to a second home defeat of the season, also earning Delio Rossi a first victory as Samp boss.

And with second-placed Lazio beating Cagliari last night, Juventus now lead the standings by just five points ahead of a daunting trip to Parma.

Within minutes, Giovinco had a fine opportunity to kickstart Juventus' bid for a record-breaking 2013, firing narrowly wide from Simone Padoin's pinpoint cross.

But home debutant Federico Peluso, recently signed from Atalanta, saw his blushes spared by goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon as Andrea Poli twisted past him with ease.

Giovinco wriggled into good space once again, this time tapping the ball tamely against Sergio Romero on the turn, but the diminutive forward would make the breakthrough moments later.

Berardi up-ended Claudio Marchisio to earn his first yellow card of the day in the 24th minute and Giovinco coolly beat Romero from the spot.

Berardi soon received his second booking and his marching orders for a late tackle on Leonardo Bonucci and Samp were seemingly up against it.

Alessandro Matri's appeals for a second penalty fell on deaf ears, though, and the visitors were not out of contention just yet.

And seven minutes after the break, Samp were level.

Buffon was clearly at fault as Icardi attempted a straightforward punt on his left foot, with the ball sailing into the back of the net.

Andrea Barzagli's ambitious effort from outside the box was lacking accuracy and Samp were starting to look the more inspired side.

If Italy's veteran goalkeeper had been found wanting for Icardi's first goal, he could not be blamed for a screamer from the young striker as the Genoa side claimed a shock lead in the 69th minute.

Four minutes later, Mirko Vucinic rattled the crossbar before teeing up fellow substitute Fabio Quagliarella for an easy chance, which sailed wide.

With all three of Juve's replacements in action, the Italian champions were temporarily reduced to 10 men when Marchisio was forced onto the sidelines through injury in the 78th minute.

In a rare display of insecurity from the league leaders, Juve retreated into their own half as time ticked away, with Marchisio's brief return not enough to salvage a point for Conte's men.

Sky Sports keep making comments like they've thrown a great lead away, I don't think it's that bad. Forza Juventus!
  21.  3 of the Notts County 'Black & White' fanzine has gone to the printers and online orders are now being taken.

Details on whats in this issue, and where to order can be found here:

    http://www.thenottsblog.co.uk/2013/01/black-white-3-and-beyond/#more-4552Issue

This is the first year that the fanzine has been done and so far its proved to be a great success. It's put together mainly by Stuart Brothers but with plenty of articles from supporters, interviews with players and staff etc.

I'd strongly recommend it, its only £1 (£1.50 if you order online)

  22. Richard Butcher tragically passed away, can't believe its been that long.

Went to see us play at Bournemouth near the end of the 2008/09 season, he came over and said hello to all the early arriving notts fans, he was a great guy. Never forget the winning goal he scored against Aldershot that season, the first game after Jimmy Sirrels death, I wasent there but you could tell how much it meant to the club with the roar of the crowd.

Gone far too soon but never forgotten, Rest In Peace Butch

  23. Ray Trew: Notts County fans accused of lack of support

_65178897_pa-13060983.jpg Notts County chairman Ray Trew has said that he is not prepared to invest more money in the club because of falling attendances and a lack of support.

Trew posted on a fans' messageboard to say he also cannot spend more to back their League One promotion push because of salary restrictions.

Trew, who said he has invested £12m since taking over in 2010, added: "I am not prepared to increase that sum.

"And the only way I will inject further monies is in the form of loans."

He added on Notts County Mad: "If I am being totally honest I am not motivated to even do that currently because I am not being supported by you, the fan base."

The Magpies have slipped to six points outside the play-off places, but despite winning just once in eight league matches, they are only six points off the top six and have at least one game in hand on all 12 teams above them.

And Trew has reiterated his commitment to the Magpies, insisting he would not walk away.

He said: "Whilst I am disillusioned at the moment with the falling attendances (which is now severely impacting on the club's cash-flow), it is not in my character to give up on anything, so despite postings and rumours to the contrary, I will state for the record that myself and my wife are here to stay."

Trew added that although the average attendance is not much lower than last season, the figure is "camouflaged" by the number of free tickets given to schoolchildren.

However Trew said because the club have a relatively high wage bill - the sixth highest in the division - players have to leave before signings can be made.

One of the club's biggest wage earners, Lee Hughes, had his contract cancelled by mutual consent this week and that is likely to free up money to bring in new faces.

Manager Keith Curle is already looking at St Johnstone's former Celtic and West Bromwich Albion striker Craig Beattie, who is training with the club.
