  1. I am strongly a United fan, I like football in general but that's it. I do not grow attached to other clubs, sure I like watching Liverpool, Arsenal and even Chelsea to a point.

Only soft spot I do have is for a League One team.

    Who do you like?

    Oh, I lie... West Brom!

  2. There's a few which I personally would like to add that are missing, if however you feel there's something missing or should be added please do let me know. I eventually get around to things :)

:hairy: "Have fun and express yourself!!"

Don't forget to pass on your suggestions, if you feel we could be doing something, want something adding or come across any concerns just post it or pm me. :frantics:

Just let me know, I do listen!

Thank for your continued support.. :sorcerer::sweat:

  3. Im starting 2 get really sick of some notts fans on facebook they start on a different player each week judgey and jcr 2 mention a couple. but today against brentford its bartoz turn and im first 2 admite when we first signed him i wasnt happy from what i seen of him at southampton. but when fans blaim him today for losing 2 brentford its a bloody joke im angry and peed off at the amount of fans that ***** at me for being negitive but today was happy 2 start on possible signing and player of the season for one mistake. its annoys me that fans dont respect him or show him the respect he deserves for trying 2 play while ill and playing last week just after his daughter got out of hospital. if it wasnt for bartoz i believe we would proberly be in bottom 4 bout time u shown players some respect and loyality.

  4. Another difficult match.Again one where a draw would normally be seen as a good result but 3 points are needed today to keep any hopes of a playoff place alive. It will also be a pointer to how CK is progressing,Meanwhile The Rams play completely different opposition this evening in Bristol City and here 3 points are expected,Good luck all.

  5. Tomorrow,Tuesday 25/3/13,England continue with their quest to qualify for the World Cup.Montenegro will provide much stiffer opposition than the woefully weak San Marino. The match is already being hyped up by certain people and England can expect a somewhat hostile reception.I don't expect any  selection surprises with Gerrard probably being the only change.I,m looking forward to this game and hope we replace the hosts as leaders of our group.

  6. Walsall win-Gladlad.Shrews win-welcome 3 points.Mansfield-8 wins on the trot,a club record and promotion beckons.Barnsley beat Brighton.Peterborough draw away at Leeds-unpredictable.And Alfreton(my home town team) get 3 at home.Elation for some fans striving for promotion or survival and more nailbiting and disappointment for others.

  7. Been placed into administration by owners Sisu this evening.

It's seemingly been on the cards for years now, but I'm sure it dosen't soften the blow for Sky Blues fans.

I've watched both my clubs - Notts and Weymouth fall apart financially. It's one of the worst feelings in the world - not knowing what the future holds for your club.

City will lose 10 points and we'll go 10th but to be honest it never feels right when you do something due to anothers demise.

But then, I kinda count my lucky stars. Weymouth stayed up in 2010-11 and practically stayed in business due to Windsor & Eaton FC's demise. Great for us, but it still felt a tiny bit wrong.

For Coventtry's sake, I hope they sort everything out but sadly I wouldnt be surprised if they ended up in a worse position than Portsmouth.

Yet another football club being wrecked by incompetent owners and nothing's being done to stop it. It's still being allowed to happen!

  8. Swindon Town will be a good test for the remaining games, as we face teams mainly around or higher. (bar Colchester)

I was looking at Swindons form prior to writing the 'view of our upcoming games' and they look pretty solid despite their troubles, if they can keep things as they are it would be a good thing and I truly expect them to carry it out. I just hope they don't hit us like a cannon, if they're brighter and score, I see a repeat of Hartlepool minus the fight back at times.

Really, I do hope we can overcome this and finish strongly. The lads need to believe and push for wins :)

1-0 to them I fear.. You?

  9. Next time any of you get annoyed by the amount of postponments and a fixture backlog, spare a thought for Guernsey FC of the Combined Counties League,

They've had over 30 postponments this season, and they now have to try and fit in 23 (yes TWENTY THREE) matches between now and 6th May, including an FA Vase Semi Final second leg trip to Spennymoor! So it could be 24 games although Guernsey trail 3-1 from the first leg.

Their fixture congestion means they'll have to play on Friday Saturday and Sunday every weekend between now and the end of the season.

They have games on the following dates:

    March - 26th & 30th

    April - 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 24th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 30th

    May - 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th!

Christ the poor players are going to be absolutely drained! Can see a few stress fractures and fatigue based injuries...

Club could also suffer financially aswel from fans not being able to afford to show up with so many home games so close together...

  10. Another league one manager gone. One of the favourites is Graham Westly tipped to go back and take over again after his sacking from Preston.

Does it really work when a manager goes back?

Should we look at taking any of our previous managers back?

Who could do a good job for us?

  11. Looking likely to be a Bradford City v Swansea City final then with both sides taking a two goal lead into the second legs of the semi finals.

How different might things be if Arquinn had scored here...

Anyone think Villa/Chelsea will turn it around? Personally I cant see Chelsea going to the Liberty Stadium and winning by 2 goals, its a hard enough place to go to as it is. I dont think Chelsea will be too bothered about this competition anyway.

Villa do have an away goal, I think they could pull it back if they were to get the first goal in the second leg, but their defence is so dodgy at the minute i wouldnt put it past bradford going down to villa park and getting another goal or 3!

  12. it seems that every side has a couple of no shows but i was wondering who would you say doesn't fit into your squad?

  13. Who's watching or watched?

I'm afraid I'll be leaving in a moment to watch the game myself, I will return after briefly if I do get chance. I hope the lions play to the level we have seen in previous games

  14. Has been nominated and is in a shortlist of three for the Football League 1 player of the year.

Hope he get's it............richly deserved in my opinion.

  15. I am medievalmickey a supporter of Swindon Town.

Why the name? I am ancient and abhor listening to any current news so I find things out by hearsay and general conversation. My son thinks I belong in the Dark Ages.

I was introduced to Walsall Web-Fans Forum, made to feel very welcome and enjoy the friendly banter and true camaraderie. I met notts-joe on that site and am pleased to join yours.

Football is tribal and we want our own team to win every match.  We fans all have this wish but basically love the game and would normally get on together because of this interest.

  16. So, I sat writing a blog because I weren't tired.. I then stumbled onto to Facebook and decided to play a game (Pop Intros) I used to be addicted to when it first went on their, although very few people I knew actually used it and well.. I grew tired of beating most people, I'd play family and only Kate would really win (yes I am shocked - I'm also a dead man!!) :P but I whilst I played I found my mind wondering, I then had a light-bulb moment or a crazy idea, I was inspired to do this!!

I'm laughing, makes me chuckle! I can't wait to share it with Dan too. (wonder what he made of me giving him a pretend cheque) lol

  17. I've stood many a time in the Kop feeling proud to be shouting on the Pies with such passion while singing your heart out for them!!

Knowing that you can always count on fellow Notts supporters, I thought I'd ask you if you can help me spread the word about an event Ive got coming up?

I'm a singer/songwriter and have been given the honor of launching my debut single at Meadow Lane  :D .

It's an official charity single in aid of Cancer Research UK its called 'In their eyes.'

The song is inspired by the legacy which is left behind when a loved one is lost. They still live on through their families, and we still see them in their eyes.

On the night there will be vocal from myself supported by an amazing pianist, a raffle with fantastic prizes inc signed NCFC football!!!! The single will then be officially released to buy on cd and itunes and to celebrate there's a live band which will get you on the dance floor :o !!

    All for £5!!!!!!

Only 1 rule.........black and white dress code  ;) COYP

Good Friday 29th March doors open at 7pm tickets available in the club shop

  18. Why did you join Pride of Nottingham?

I've been thinking a lot lately, as I spend time analyzing the site. I asked on Facebook how people found us, although the page doesn't really draw or catch peoples attentions enough to get a fair report back. I was, as I always am chuffed with the responses as they gave a good insight and I am always excited when someone share their opinion (it's the whole reason for the page). I'm now planning our content range and things I'd like in place, sadly I don't have all the time to do the things I'd like so for now I will rotate but the balance being right is the most important thing about running a site.

If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd like you to answer the above question. It will help me, it might also attract the attention of readers who may join or members who are still lurking into taking part.

To summaries your opinions, I can enhance my plan and make sure it fits around the people who matter.

    Thanks for your support,

  19. Leacock flattens the Iron

<!--url{0}-->Dean Leacock's late winner clinched Notts County a 1-0 win over Scunthorpe at Meadow Lane to keep their slim play-off hopes alive.

Scunthorpe had the better of the opening exchanges with Paul Reid's deflected effort narrowly missing the target inside two minutes and Akpo Sodje seeing his effort blocked by County goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski when he was slipped in by Mark Duffy after nine minutes.

County's best chance of the first half came in the 40th minute when Yoann Arquin somehow headed over at the back post from six yards out.

The Iron nearly went ahead on the hour when former County man Karl Hawley dinked a clever chip inches wide.

But there was nothing clever about Hawley's awful miss a minute later when, after a terrible mix-up between Bialkowski and Haydn Hollis, he missed a near open goal from Sodje's pull back.

Scunthorpe were made to pay when Leacock stroked the ball home from Neal Bishop's knock-down after 81 minutes for the Magpies' winner.
  20. What do you hate about modern football? The lack of respect throughout the game - fans/clubs/players etc and the cost of games is concerning giving the little in return to those loyal supporters. At Notts it isn't all that bad, there's a good day out and the Meadow Lane Sports Bar is a great place to visit prior to games but it doesn't feel the same as it used to be. I also dislike Sky Sports with a passion, too much money and the control they have now is worrying.

  21. Has now scored 3 goals in 3 games for Torquay.

Time for a recall? He's never really had a chance with Notts, could he do a job for us, what do you think?

  22. Was just casually looking through Amazon when I decided to see what search results Notts County would bring. And I found this book:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultra-Violence-Mark-Anthony-Barry/dp/1478139595/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363539056&sr=8-1

    This is the synopsis:

Forty. Receding pate. Failing marriage. Delinquent, uncaring son. Psycho boss parachuted in to cut the big earners. A few lost marbles? It wasn?t always like this. He used to be a face. A player. A terrace celebrity. Now hes just another faceless nobody on the brink of despair in a world he no longer recognises. One freezing winter?s day, a chance meeting with a face from the old days at Notts County changes everything. Especially when there?s an intriguing proposition on the table. One he may find difficult to refuse. Ultra Violence is the thrilling, humourous, nihilistic and sometimes moving story, told partially in flashback, of one mans journey from idealistic young fan to major football hooligan set against the shadow of a grim and soulless middle age in the bustling English city of Nottingham.

Has anyone heard of Mark Barry or this book before? It's had quite good reviews.

  23. Being a life long Notts County supporter I am so proud to be launching my official charity single for CRUK 'in their eyes' at meadow lane sports bar!

I am a local singer/song writer and am hoping to raise a load of money for this charity which is very close to my heart.

The evening will consist of jazz vocal from myself a great chance to win prizes inc signed NCFC football :) new single release then live band all for just £5 per ticket :) come and join us from 7pm on Good Friday march 29th black and white dress code of course!!!!
