the 72 are at it again, however, rather than purely making them up as they go along. the 'realistically' emphasis is solely going on players frequently mentioned by notts fans. 😂

jesse debrah and sam pearson are the players.

It's just a bit of speculation really. Debrah does sound like the kind of player we'd go for and would give us more options at the back, I don't remember him from last season though. We'd also face stiff competition to get him.

Pearson rings a bell somewhere, but we've already got Palmer, Bostock, JOB, Bajrami and Crowley in the middle so I doubt there's anything in it.

There is likely no truth in what they have written, as was discussed during the period when Notts were linked to players. The72 does not report on things for their value, but rather for the clickbait they can generate from their news. They are not a credible source, so while there is nothing wrong with speculation, running a site solely based on the number of hits each link can get does not sit well.

Well, actually, false news with the sole intention of being dubious or misleading is quite harmful. I have seen first-hand how having people believe in stories can generate a lot of negativity. These days, people are more attracted to writing a negative comment than to replying to a well-written story. They linked one of the players before, and there was talk about Sam Pearson, but that connection was dismissed. Now, they are back again, hoping that most Notts fans have forgotten about it. Jesse Debrah has his fans in our supporter base who jokingly ask the club frequently when they are going to announce his signing.

Do you think it's possible for us to sign him, even though we already have two trialists playing in the same position? However, he would be a valuable addition to the team.

We are not collecting players as if they were Pokémon; avoid sites that specialise in clickbait. It’s not speculation; it’s misleading information put across by people pretending to have the ‘scoop’, ‘inside news’, or ‘source’. When the only source they do have is brown.

Well, Luke Williams is keeping us all guessing in regard to the centre back position.

Jesse Debrah is being linked by credible news outlets as being linked with the likes of Carlisle United, among others. He's young enough to fit what we might be seeking, I know some of the fans who want him to sign and, usually these players aren't even on our radar. He would make excellent signings, especially on paper, which makes it so tempting for sites to speculate on them signing.

I just feel that it's more likely that Nathan Claxton or the other trialist will sign. As for reading The72, I used to enjoy it, but it quickly became meh. 😑

To their credit, they haven’t guaranteed it or claimed they have some inside knowledge. The last time they were putting those claims out, how many did we sign? None? Well, as for a speculation article, this is fine.

I would take Jesse Debrah as he is a quality player that would fit in well with us. However, the reason why I don't think he would sign for Notts is that we might not be able to promise him the wages and game time he desires. He will want regular football and I don't think he would be happy sitting on the bench, as he seems to be the type of player that wants to be involved.

Connell Rawlinson has shown promise and his experience is still useful. Richard Brindley is another remaining option. It seems unlikely to me that Jesse Debrah will sign for us.

I don’t think it helps matters that they slap the title “realistic” on their articles after spreading untruths earlier with players being linked. None of their sources turned out to be correct, so why would anyone trust what they write? The72 needs to rethink and stop with the BS.

I don’t read their content; all they do is spam the socials of Notts County, and when you know they lie, it’s hard to give them much time of day.

They would be better off focusing on teams that aren’t aware they essentially just want the clicks, rather than the reads. Their antics at the start of the transfer window, with all their speculation and ‘sources’, revealed them to be opportunists. Some of their writers might be fine, but I don’t trust them.

Never heard of the 72 but just read the article. I seriously doubt that Halifax did not offer Debrah a contract, so he would not be a free transfer as he is under the age of 24. Would take him in a heartbeat and he would definitely get the game time. LW tends to rest his more dynamic players and doesn’t tinker around so much with the back line unless forced to by drop of form or injury. I’d have no doubt that Debrah would play 40 plus games if fit and in form.
The one issue is that he is taking a very long time to make up his mind and has missed a lot of pre season, so would definitely not walk straight into our side as Williams always tend to drip feed new signings into our lineups.

I don’t see either player signing for Notts. I think both will end up signing for a League One club. I would be surprised if Jesse Debrah decided to remain lower than that.
