When does deducting points lose its significance? Surely, if they’re penalised by 141 points, their season is effectively finished. It seems futile to let them carry on if it’s going to have a harmful effect on the club in the long run.

What if we barred the individuals who broke the rules from football and imposed hefty fines on them as a more effective deterrent? The fines could be reinvested into grassroots football in Wales. As for a 141-point deduction, have the decision-makers lost their minds? A referee gets punched in Turkey and their league is suspended, yet a small club violates numerous rules and it’s their supporters who bear the brunt.

just relegated and fine them, what a pointless punishment.

**** **.

That article is full of broken rules, which really shows how unaware of football the people in charge are. I do get the feeling that some aren't made to cheat but by neglectful knowledge. The punishment is weird, that amount of potential points must be a record in football. What does it achieve?

There has to be better ways to punish the people responsible and if I am right about it being a mistake with some, it should be softer.

You can tell when something is done on purpose or is likely to have been done to gain, whereas I can see why people without knowledge of football rules may make continous mistakes.

If they were to lose 141 points, they might as well be relegated. There’s no point in docking such a large amount from which there’s no recovery.

Yeah, it’s a bit ridiculous that the penalty doesn’t accurately reflect a fair punishment for all the rules the club violated. I do wonder how they managed to make so many errors, it’s astonishing.

It seems too harsh on the points. I am not sure it is the right way to punish them either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This kind of penalty could ruin a club like theirs. I agree that action was necessary, but to further deduct points instead of targeting those responsible is appalling.

At some stage points penalties just become arbitrary. Why can't they just relegate them, give them another suspended penalty in case of further breaches and ban the responsible individuals from running a football club?

It seems like they prefer to hand out point penalties rather than more effective punishments.
