  1. 1. Should Ched Evans be allowed back into Football?

    • Yes, he has served his time per the legal system, and it would be unfair to stop him plying his trade

    • Yes, as long as he doesn't play for Notts

    • No, he should not be allowed back. Footballers are supposed to be role models

I don't think he served enough time, but theres nothing we can do about that. The main problem is that he shows no remorse. I think he should be able to work from the bottom again, but not just carry on from where he left off.

I have voted...

It is going to be one hell of an up hill battle for him and the club that takes him on, quite rightly IMO.

I cannot go as far as to say "I wish him well", but good luck to him and the club, I feel they are going to need it.

But I don't feel we have the right to deny him resuming his career...

The online abuse thing has taken another twist, With Jessica Ennis-Hill now suffering abusive tweets, following her statement that she would request her name being taken down form the stand, if the club employed Ched Evans..

The whole saga, is going to rumble on and on, like I said, good luck to the club that does sign him.

That's the point though mate, he is STILL saying that he is innocent, if he had been remorseful the entire time he was inside and since he has been out then i'm sure people would allow him to move on but whilst he is still blaming the girl he quite rightly will not be allowed to move on.

That's the difference between this cretin and Lee Hughes, at least he tried to say sorry

I swear I just heard that Sheffield United will not be offering Chad Evans a contract, I wonder if he will consider playing overseas now?

League Two or further is calling for him.

As long as its not for us! Don't agree with him coming back to the professional game until he has either publicly apologised and made some sort of act of repentance or his case for appeal has gone through due process and he is found not guilty in a court of law. As it stands now on the evidence a jury convicted him and he's done some time (not enough) in prison, but still plays the little boy blue routine. Not acceptable in the 21st century. Not by a long shot.

Obviously the jury and myself disagree with you. Think thats more to do with the sad world we live in unfortunately.

Dodgy ground this one. If Evans has genuinely raped the girl then he should be hung out to dry. The girl will be serving a life sentence of her own if that is the case. If she's given him the come on and cried foul afterwards then he should at least be given a second chance. However the fact that he's been tried and served time suggests that he's far from innocent. Whether or not you think the sentence for such a crime is too lenient is a separate debate for another day. Personally I'd leave well alone but someone somewhere will need a player and he may be offered a second chance.

ok how about the fact that she claims to of been raped before by another footballer who's name she cant even remember its women like her that make true rape victim's get no support from the already useless police.

Recent news has said that Sheffield are now not letting him train with them. I think that may be more to do with the fact they were losing support and sponsors though.

We don't know all the facts and never will, but i think he should work his way up from lower down, not just carry on from where he left off.

Sorry to drag this back up, but I have heard about this book "Night Games" and although it is about an incident in Australia, it could have some relevance to this, and indeed future cases.

It does IMO do harm to the potential case of genuine victims, and might put off the reporting of cases.

Now, even to me, who prefers the idea of making him a Eunoch, this seems wrong.

Ched was offered a contract to go an play at Maltese club Hibernians. As we discussed on here, the thought was he may have to go and play abroad.

It seems stupid to me that this has been blocked by the Ministry of Justice. The reason being?

People there were also tetchy about the move, with meetings planned, and as I said before it is going to take a brave club to bring him in.

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has confirmed convicted rapist Ched Evans is expected to sign for a League One club on Monday.

Taylor has refused to name the club and has told them he would be unable to attend a news conference.

The PFA want "100% commitment" from a club before any announcement to avoid a similar scenario to the one that unfolded at Sheffield United before Christmas.

We do need a striker...

I just hope it isn't us, genuinely if it is then it will be the last thing I ever have to do with the club, just look on the following link as to why he would have been given the sentence that he was, they have obviously deemed it to be a conviction of rape an aggravating circumstance as they gave him the maximum possible time they could, surely that says everything we or anyone else needs to know

I'm glad he's Not going to Malta. A great place to be and wouldn't want it's reputation to be damaged by him. Silly headline grabbing move by Hibs and glad they've been knocked back.

He's being treated in the same way as any other worker would be in terms of being a sex offender. While he remains guilty, this is quite right in my opinion.

Yeah, it was confirmed earlier Oldham Athletic had signed him.

Pretty desperate move by them.
