Sheffield United vs Notts County

Important game! One which if we don't get anything from it could start to be where comments creep in and it won't help the tough run of fixtures coming up. We have to be realistic here, there's no reason why we couldn't win but a draw would be good. I know we have to hope for a win, as this will keep us up but personally I'd like us to avoid dropping down the league.

I know some fans expect this to be the case, I think we might but I also remember last year how we achieved the great escape by believing.

Sheffield United are picking up, though some of their fans aren't happy and there is still an opportunity for us to cause an upset.

Let's forget about Accrington and Yeovil, let's think about games like Barnsley or Coventry and just hope for the best.

I see this being 1-1, hopefully no red cards! Roy Carrol needs to avoid yellow.

COME ON YOU PIES!

Thoughts?

We desperately need to get something out of this game, a draw would be a good result.

Incidentally why is it on Friday, is it being televised?

I'll be going, got my ticket this morning. Think we can definitely get a result from this game, would be happy with a draw but could see us coming out with 3 points. It's on a Friday because Sheffield Wednesday are playing on the Saturday, not sure why the fixtures have clashed to have them at home on the same weekend though, not on telly.

Isn't Forest at home on Saturday? I think a Steward told someone I was with this last Saturday that was the reason.

That lot are away at Brum

@notts-joe away at Birmingham.

I think this was a request by Sheffield themselves.

Its a game I see no reason why we could not get something, it depends on how we and they themselves play. It would be nice to get one over them, its been awhile but its a good stadium to visit. fans need to be careful its not the friendliest place to travel especially those like Joe with young children. I think we might cause a surprise 1-2 Notts.

We could get something out of this but the performance needs to improve. Another loss and the natives will be restless.

Sheffield are over rated, clough is doing well but even he leaves holes which we should be able to capitalize on. I would not rule out winning but I am not predicting the score, it would favour them at this moment in time.

United are ours to prove wrong, they will have us put down as three points even before the notts coach arrives.

Clough is a decent manager, no questions about that. I do feel often he gets defenders to sit back, it was the same during his time at derby and @super_ram may agree that his tactics are more designed to be offensive. that may give us something! Notts should go open minded.

See out it pans out. 2-2 is my prediction.

I hope we can get the 3 points, I hope the injustice inspires the pies to thump the blades 3-0!!

I'll be there - got a touch of the corporate "horse brutality".

Should be a good night. We'll sneak the win.

Come on you Piiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeees.

I think we should be able to get something from the game, I don't see us winning though, so a 2-2 is my pick.

Agree about it not being the safest place, my last visit to Bramall Lane resulted in being "keyed" in the back of the head on the walk back to the station. Thankfully it is only a minority and a few very good Blades fans jumped to the rescue.

After last week's debacle (the idiot in black) we should be coming out guns all ablaze. If we had 11 on the field last week we would have beaten them.

Of course Sheffield Utd are a different breed. But we can still take them and I know Derry would want us to go out and prove, yet again we can play with the big boys.

i think we will either win 1-0 or lose by just a goal.

i am hopeful that its in our favour but they are a good side, we need to take our time against them. avoid being caught napping!

1-0 Notts imo.

Should be a difficult match, but I fancy we'll nick it!

Anyone worried if JCR plays?

Who?

@super_ram he may well tear Adams a new one, but after that he will probably make the wrong choice.

Anyways

BRING IT ON..... its match day, get in!!!!!

JCR should start tonight. Scored last weekend.

Higdon and McNulty could well be fit for the Blades tonight. Chris O Grady joined on loan from Brighton and it looks like he will be able to play tonight. I think they got the paperwork in on time. They have had problems scoring goals but with these 3 options, that problem looks to have resolved itself.

I can't see us going there and getting anything out of the game.

2-1 to them. Cassidy.
