Phobias

OK, who's going to own up to having a phobia.

I've got a phobia of needles, I was given three anti tetanus injections in my thighs after a dog bit me when I was a young lad and the nurse wasn't the least bit kind or gentle hence ever since I have had a phobia of needles. I can't even watch someone else having an injection. I hadn't had to have an injection since then until about 8 years ago when I needed blood tests and I was absolutely petrified, I told the nurse and she opened all the windows in case I fainted and laid me on a couch before taking the blood, all the time she was talking to me to keep my mind occupied. She was lovely, unlike the one in 1959.

My other phobia is heights, I can't stand being high up especially if there is nothing to stop me falling. I hate ladders, cliff tops etc., I'm not sure where that came from.

So what phobia can you own up to?

I'm not fond of heights or spiders, but I can overcome them if needed, but I wouldn't say they're a phobia.

Definitely got a phobia of those lot in red over the river though - can't stand the things.

Mrs. H. is absolutely petrified of spiders, I mean a real phobia, she won't go in a room if she knows there is a spider in there. I haven't got a problem with spiders at all I could pick them up let them run up my arm, no problem. It's really strange how these phobias can affect some people but not others.

No real phobias tbh, don't mind needles, spiders, blood, any animal, I watched a surgeon take a cyst out of my arm, really interesting that was, so was being down the business end at both births of my children.

There are a few things I don't like and lots more I don't understand (supporting forest for one) but no phobias

Spiders, needles and to a lesser extent the sea.  I just don't like not knowing what's under the water! I could stand on some broken glass/needle/sharp rock, or something could brush against my leg and that just freaks me out

@notts-joe I thought this was a family forum, and you allow explicit pictures such as that? Should be ashamed.

Be careful what you wish for! :P

Strangely @GrannyPie although Mrs H is petrified of spiders she would happily pick up a mouse or anything furry.

I also hate walking under scaffolding, I think it's going to collapse or a workman is going to drop a hammer on my head or something, I normally cross the road.
