Notts County vs Scunthorpe United

It's revision time for the Magpies, also to some degree a grudge type match which we have to win. A draw simply wouldn't be good enough here and we must battle like Trojan's and not just defend like them. If we can keep the ball on the ground, playing direct and focus on creating chances of a mixed variety I can see us winning.

Scunthorpe United is the ideal game for a fit Jimmy Spencer, however I still think we should buyed our time with him.

I'm hearing JCR will be fit for Saturday, with me spending the past two days feeling unwell - I haven't really paid this game as much attention but if it's true, we will benefit from his direct approach, provided he releases the ball at the right moment within time.

They're not a bad side, good front pair, some decent midfielders but towards the back is where they're most iffy for me.

Fingers crossed a steady performance will lead to a 2-0 home win, goals coming from Bajner and Hollis.

What are your thoughts on the game? Score predictions? Is this a must win game, i.e can we afford to draw it?

Discuss folks.

A field where dreams become reality.

2-1 Notts. Expect a difficult game, but expect us to ****** it and earn Paul Hart his new manager bounce 3 points. Every point is needed so really hope he can lift them to a win.

We need to secure the win, they are the ideal side and if we lose its another nail in the coffin. League 2 could be calling for us!

1-0 G Thompson

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

It won't be easy, not at all. I hope Hart puts the players into a strict tactical formation which would be the only way I see us winning the game bring openly honest. We could probably fluke a narrow win but I would not bet my home on it!

The loss of Paddy McCourt and Roy Carroll is a major one.

Pilks in goal becuase Speiss has fell off the edge of the Planet again!

Maybe Hayhurst gets his second coming on the left this weekend?

This is going to go one of two ways.... either we will turn up, boss the game and win, in which case SD/GA had lost the dressing room... or same old same old... we aren't good enough, full stop...

Interesting... I hope for a win, that would signal a good chance of survival... I am not overly confident... not a good enough spine to the side

2 very poor sides. You'd favour the home team usually but Notts are rubbish at home, still we should win.

4-2 to Notts. G. Thompson (2), Spencer (1) & Bajner (1). Ball hits Bajner on the behind and wrong foots the keeper...about the only way he'll score....

I can't call this one. When teams enjoy the "new manager bounce", it's often because they have a number of talented but underperforming players who suddenly turn it on for the new boss. I'm not sure we can overcome our obvious frailties so easily. On the other hand, a mental line has been drawn under our recent run. A win would be absolutely huge for us and would double our chances of survival.

----------------Speiss------------------
-Mullins--Mckenzie-Hollis-Adams-
-----------------New lad-----------------
----------C.Thompson----------------
-JCR--------------------------Hayhurst-
-----------Spencer--Other new lad-----

I would probably go for that. Would rather have Mullins and Mckenzie, but Dumbuya still injured? Is Mckenzie even fit?

C.Thompson fit? JCR?  Hayhurst only playing due to no other options.
