Bennett or Swerts. Carroll is a liability when talking to refs. Hollis (imo) shouldn't start any game anyway and Nobles place may be under threat with so many other players now available for the middle role.

The captain needs to play most matches and be relible to communicate to players and refs.

Carroll, Bennet or Noble.

Two of which would have to pipe down and focus their game, rather than any and every disagreement which comes about from a game.

I'm still not convinced it's a good idea for a goalkeeper to be captain, certainly not for one as temperamental as Carroll. Hollis and Noble don't have the experience. That leaves Bennett, who captained Exeter, Milsom or Swerts, and we have no idea whether the latter two are leaders at all. It sounds like we're going to be signing a number of players this week, maybe our future capitano will be among them.


 


@Captain Sticky "Ricardo's boys" - I hope the other players in the squad don't see our continental signings that way. That's how cliques are formed!

I think if Wroe can get in the team, he would be a good call but I think it will end up on Bennett's arm.

Wroe?? God I hope not, he hardly lead by experience or hard work last year. I am suprised he's even still here.

Bennett possibly he has experience as a captain or Swerts, NOT Carroll he can't control his temper.

I do not see Noble being a guaranteed first team player, he might end up on the bench. For me its must be Carroll, he just needs to wind his neck in and approach incidents as an experienced player should.

He never had a real chance to do his bit since he was phased out of the squad, before that he sounded promising.

I pretty much agree with this. I'm also not sure if Noble will actually be guaranteed a place and Carroll certainly has the experience to be the captain.

 

I'm also not sure if it would be a good idea to give the captaincy to one of the foreign players.  While I'm sure there English is better than a fair number of English people, I'm not sure throwing them into a captaincy role in their first year in England would be the best idea?
