Why do some fans obsess?

I am really wondered why people are so obsessed with Craigh Mackail-Smith? I mean, any other player he would be getting slated by now for not having made a decision but the thing that annoys me the most is how people are making him to sound to be like our next masirah. He is a very good player, who is perhaps too good for league two but come on, get real people.

If he don't sign for us, watch him end up being plagued by abuse either at games against us or via the twitter trolls.

Can anyone explain it? Why do some fans obsess?

It's all about optimism mate, fans just want to see Notts do well and much of it depends how the news is handled.

If the media hype up a story, it naturally happens. I'm not saying this is the case now, yet fans just want to see someone scoring regularly and that gives them hope for a good season. I don't think it's as such a problem, I just think we need to avoid any disappointment - as if he don't sign we simply just move on. I don't think he will myself but you make a valid point about him not having signalled his desire to settle down.

He may be waiting for higher or better offers.

A field where dreams become reality.

It does my head in if I am honest, some just go over the top with whoever is linked or rumoured to be signing.

I cannot explain why some fans do it either.

I wouldn't say its just a sports thing, you get it with phones and all sorts. Its just something to be accepted, people react differently and some really want our glory days back.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

It's up to CMS what he does, he doesn't owe us anything. Apparently he turned our offer down. Hopefully we've assembled a team where a number of players can contrinute goals, rather than being dependent on one star striker.

We have put in a counter offer supposedly, I wonder if @RayTrew or @erindoors can confirm this.

Its just fans craving success on the field, after the last few seasons you can hardy blame them.

Well said, I do not think we should focus around a star striker either.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
