Mansfield want to keep Adams

Adam Murray of Mansfield has said that he wants to sign Adams on a permanent deal, this maybe a good deal for both parties if we bring in Sheehan, I didn't think Adams was too bad last year but Moniz just didn't like him

Greetings all, I come in peace. Upon reading this article I hope he joins Mansfield, as he would be a great addition to our team. What do you Notts think about this ?

I thought he was decent least year in league 1 and thought he was good going forward, for me id still start him but the manager we just sacked didn't like him

You can have him, he came with great prospect but hasn't delivered and I don't think he will.

I am sure you guys will get the most out of him, so I'd be happy for him to leave and on a free. I think he offers Mansfield far more than he did us, that said I am pleased he is doing well for you.

Thanks, he has brought stability to our back line and looks comfortable on the ball. He has league 1 experience and knows how to get promoted.

After todays performance I would welcome him back, I felt we lacked width and Hewitt in centre did not work for me.

I would rather see Adams return to left back.

In our programme today he expressed his frustration in not being picked for Notts and is only contracted until the end of the season. Seems as though he is interested in getting a move to Mansfield.

Looks like we have a few clubs sniffing around the players who could depart, Adams is sounding more and more like he wants out.

Let him go!

i think we can do better and there is no point keeping him when we can reduce our squad size and wage budget. i would have cranston over him myself.

Heard rumours that you have recalled him, hope this isn't true as he has been solid for us.

Adams and Wroe have been recalled apparently.

Strange.  I saw it as a post on another site that he had been recalled, but nothing to confirm it on the official site.

I would have thought the new manager would want to have a look at Adams especially given the rave reviews he is getting at the Stags, he's already said that everyone starts with a clean sheet so why not recall him and give him a chance, we havent exactly  got a surplus of good defenders.

I would be disappointed if we have recalled Adams, only to assess him and not to play. Personally, I would let Mansfield have him because he didn't seem remotely motivated the last few games he featured for us within this league. He looked far more useful in League One! That said, if he proves himself - he would be welcomed back and I just want to see playing doing the best that they can.

If Adams and Wroe have been recalled, they should be announced.

He has expressed that he wants to stay with us and feels more settled at Mansfield. Whether your new manager thinks he's part of his plan, time shall tell.

I'm really in two minds over any recall.  I think Adams is an average League 2 left back, but that might just be better than anything else we've got!  Seeing as it looks like we won't be getting Sheehan back, it's a toss up between Adams, Audel and Milsom as to who will fill the gap best.

I know that Wroe is back as he has tweeted that he is, not sure on Adams, but I think he is the best option that we currently have at left back. I would like to see Milsom in midfield to hopefully give us better balance.

I have not seen Adams live but from the highlights it seems we can do far better.

Who is the current regular left back? Do we still have Sheehan?

Sheehan is now back at Bradford, I hope we get him back but it looks unlikely, Mrs T said she would try to get him back but its all down to JF

"Current regular left back" is not a phrase that's been used at Notts this season!  Sheehan played a couple of games there before he was moved to centre back before returning to Bradford pre-Christmas.  The left back spot was then mainly filled by Audel and more recently Milsom.  The back four have looked dodgy all season, whoever has been playing in it.  It's hard to be too critical of them as they have had very little protection from midfield, opposing teams have sliced through the middle with alarming ease.  Fullarton's main task is to instil some defensive discipline without sacrificing the attacking flair.  I don't envy him that job!

The return of Adams might allow Milsom to move into central midfield - I wonder if he would give the back four more protection? Or maybe Wroe would fit the bill there. Then of course we could only pick one of Aborah, Thompson and Noble, or two if we play five across the middle.

We generally played with two wide men (Campbell and Burke) under Moniz, and while this gave us considerable attacking threat, we looked lightweight in the centre of midfield.  Aborah, Noble and even Thompson give a very limited physical presence in what is usually a battleground in League 2.  Milsom may be an option, but I can't help wishing Scunny would let us have Neal Bishop back!

Posted

I would love for Bish to come back, we desperately need someone like him in midfield in order to release our attacking players. Not sure what system we are likely to play, but if it is different (almost certainly) to Moniz's then I am struggling to see how Aborah is going to fit into it.

I still think that Adams is our best option at left back, unless we can get Sheehan, but the new manager will have other priorities at Centre Half first.

I'd love to see Neal Bishop back if he still has the legs. And Alan Sheehan please.
