Winter resigns

Featured Replies

I still feel sorry for Jamie Fullarton, when your chairman says 'experience' but opts for a method which we have seen be unsuccessful before, not once but several times - it will naturally concern people. I recall doing the PONcast which spoke of the arrival with @Joe Jones who said it's not a 'gamble' you take in this division when things aren't working.

When Jamie Fullarton first spoke about wanting to finish 'as high as possible'. I just wished he had of answered "My focus is to regroup with the players, settle down the squad and bring a level consistency to the performance." - perhaps adding "I would like to finish as high as possible, play-offs is a possibility but we require much work." Instead he didn't want to answer in detail. Press conference are peoples chance to get their message across, I always think a manager should be open, clear and realistic but at the same time show a bit of ambition.

I honestly haven't seen much of that from Fullarton, I also fail to see how he impressed in his interview - I'm not saying this not to be personal or offensive.

He just doesn't breed confidence for me and perhaps the players feel the same way?

A field where dreams become reality.

@notts-joe I think he has been trying to be positive regardless... with only his first change being about the last 30 mins against D & R.

If you are too critical as a new boss you run the risk of alienating the players ( and don't mention Aborah again) or losing the dressing room before you have even started. If he came out after AFC Wimbledon , in his first home game in charge and caned the players he would have got pelters from them.

My point earlier wasn't really about the press stuff as I have too been commenting that its an area he could do with some assistance in...but there appears a mistrust of the club right now which is a much wider problem.

It looks like Notts are having a clearance like Argos! Everything must go.

In other news, Stu Brothers seems to have left the club rather mysteriously for the second time.

Julian Winter has resigned from his position as Chief Executive of Notts County Football Club.

A notice period has been agreed with the board and Julian will remain in his position whilst a full handover of duties takes place.

Upon the announcement Julian Winter said, “There have been a lot of changes at the club over recent weeks and I want to stress that my resignation is not in light of these changes.”

“I came here with a clear plan of how to take this club forward and it is with regret that I have not been able to complete this important work.”

The club will make no further comment at this time. A further announcement will be made in due course.

anyone read the official statement from the club? he actually mentioned the past couple of days had no involvement.

Stepping down so early after Aborah spoke about his problems seems to give the player more merit.

Notts are a joke at the moment!

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Doris Jones has resigned from her position as Tea Lady of Notts County Football Club.

A notice period has been agreed with the board and Doris will remain in her position whilst a full handover of duties (and tea bags) takes place.

Upon the announcement Doris said, “There have been a lot of changes at the club over recent weeks and I want to stress that my resignation is not in light of these changes.”

“I came here with a clear plan of how to switch over to Yorkshire Tea and descale the kettle and it is with regret that I have not been able to complete this important work.”

The club will make no further comment at this time.

Un...Official statement...

Under new instructions, the only pies on offer will now be haggis pies. The pies will be plain with no additional filling. The club does not want anything fancy on offer.

Proposals to continue to have Belgian waffles and Dutch pancakes have been shelved. Any thoughts of expanding the continental cuisine have been stopped. Valencic has handed in a transfer request for a Slovakian sausage which has also been turned down.

No hearty fare for a winter of discontent

@Piethagoram couldn't agree more with you but for some reason that chance wasn't taken....I don't work there so I can't comment further

There seems to be a mistrust at the moment and an assumption that the club , and their officials, are lying about things just now which is shame but if I've read the word 'Liar' once online , I've read it a million times about the club and staff, across all social media and I'm not entirely sure why fans would think the entire club is lying to them? People can argue about performances, appointments, communication, promotions, prices, form, condition of the pitch, stadium or where the club is going.... but when you get to a stage where some fans feel that club are lying to them no matter what they issue, then you are not in a good place.

Call it lying, call it bending the truth, call it misleading, call it not stating all the facts.... this hasn't happened overnight. This distrust has been around a while.

Let's start with our resigned CEO and his wife, the owners. There's only so many times you can bleet that you have a long term plan only to change it 6 months later before fans start to not believe you. Added on top of this are things such as stating a striker will be signed tomorrow and it never happens. All these small things, plus a lot of bigger ones, such as an experienced manager to gain promotion, leads to fans distrusting you.

One step below them, well we had a chap called Jim Rodwell. He was never trusted by the fans and was a slimy kind of character. After the owners wife had a brief stint in this role, we have some chap coming in saying that the manager we have just appointed, who nobody wanted, was the next Brendan Rodgers. His only interview of note was some mindless corporate babble that endeared him to nobody. Not trusted.

One step below that you have Guy Branston, who wasn't well received by the fans either (he managed 45 mins for Notts and made Haydn Hollis look like Beckenbauer). Earlier in the season he endeared himself to fans when it was revealed he was interfering with the recruitment process and basically usurping the manager. That, combined with us signing 2 squads on his say so, leads to mistrust.

Now we come to the final step, the manager. A manager that was not wanted, has probably the worst media interview technique ever seen in a manager and has isolated the fans favourite player. You can add more, but you get the picture. No trust.

So from the top to the bottom of this management pyramid of the club, a lot of fans trust none of them, and this isn't an overnight process, it's years in the making at the top level.

I for one, don't believe anything the club say. The only people above the playing staff I would actually believe are Steady Eddy and Pilks.

@Super_Danny_Allsopp Richard Dryden & Mick Halsall are decent people people and very knowledgeable about football.

Funny that Stanley had no problem playing for them and they had no problem picking him! Colin should put that point to JF, would love to know what cack he would spout.

I think the reason Mick Halsall & Richard Dryden didn't get the job was because they would have done things their way not the way of others.....

You're right, forgot totally about Halsall and Dryden.

If we can't swallow enough pride and appoint Cooper then we should employ Halsall & Dryden.

TBH if I were Alan hardy and assuming he brought the club I owuld just appoint them, steady hands for a rocking ship

You're right. JF's presence at the club is doing no favours for anybody, the current owners, the fans and even JF.

Appoint Halsall or Dryden, or both, and let them see the end of the season out in a dignified manner. I think most fans would be in favour of this. In the off-season, we must see what is happening with the club financially (i.e owners and if the club has been bought) and analyse Halsall/Dryden 's performance since take-over, and go from there.
