Did anyone on here go to the unveiling of the Plaque on the wall of The Mercure Hotel, commemorating Notts County F C being founded there. Was organised by Andy Black. Saw it on the local news BBC news earlier. 

Yeah, I totally forgot about this.

It's good to know that the birth of the club will be remembered in history and, be remembered with the plaque outside the Mercure hotel. I always tell my children when I go past it on the bus that Notts was formed in there, one of them usually looks baffled as to why and Ava did once say 'No, they play at Meadow Lane daddy'.

nope, i knew nothing about it. shame it was not mentioned anywhere i would have gone.

I didn't know anything about this at all.

I wouldn't have gone mind, I am not in Nottingham and I suspect it was kept low key to keep it private.

I only know about the collection during the fundraising stages, it all went quiet after that.

I've never heard anything about it, not at all. I do like the idea of the plaque reminding people especially Forest fans that we started out before them.

 

Is that the place that used to be the George Hotel, when I was an apprentice printer we used to have our Christmas Dinner there, a very posh affair all paid for by the company. Happy days. I never knew of the Notts connections.

Have the club mentioned this at all? I have never seen anything about it.

The plaque looks nice.

I hope the Mercure hotel keeps the plaque in better condition than the Jimmy & Jack statue.

Hardly the biggest news is it..

It is nice to know some history is preserved about the formation of the club though.

At least the plaque preserves the foundation location for future generations. Anywho, here's some pictures.
