  5. @liampie They are great goals. I hope you achieve them all. Italy is a wonderful country. I have been there for work a lot and on holiday a couple of times. Milan is great (but probably not my No1 favourite), Florence amazing, Rome incredible, Naples, scar (but outside is pretty cool - the drive along the coast is unbelievable), and Venice and Verona are must visits! Good luck with a weekend - I suspect you will return. I joined a gym in October, and the Christmas break has done loads of damage. I need to get back there!!

  6. yes, i have set some goals for myself and i usually keep them to myself. i want to travel a bit more. italy, australia and turkey are three places i aim to visit in 2024. italy could be a weekender, with the other two making a week holiday each. get more involved in my community. join a gym and stick with it.

  8. The festive period fell a little wayward and, I apologise that this hadn't been completed sooner. November was a great month for PON, which led nicely into the final calendar month. There was a lot of fantastic effort by the community, which is pleasing and although things did become quieter (quite naturally) nearer to Christmas and the New Year, I still believe it's important to wrap this up. Between myself, @cheeky~k8 and @Burnz3r0. We have decided upon the nominations for each member group as to who should be named December's Member(s) of the Month here on the Pride of Nottingham. NewPie of the Month goes to: @Robbie. Member(s) of the Month goes to: @menzinho and @Piethagoram. Team Member of the Month goes to: @TheSkipper Congratulations to the four members! This is a fantastic achievement worth celebrating. So, many excellent contributions and posts during December and, we go again in 2024. Please take a moment to wish everyone well.

  10. In some German states, 6 January is a bank holiday to celebrate the three kings who visited baby Jesus. As we all know, they gave him gold, frankincense and prediction league points. Which brings us onto this round: send in your predictions by 3pm on Saturday, remembering your joker, and see how high you can score! Burton Albion v Wycombe Wanderers Exeter City v Carlisle United Bradford City v Crawley Town Salford City v Forest Green Rovers Swindon Town v Colchester United Altrincham v Barnet Dorking Wanderers v Oldham Athletic Southend United v Halifax Town

  11. Interesting reading some of the comments on Swans message boards. “Suppose we better get used to watching Martinesque ball again. Hope he doesn’t prioritise a ball playing keeper over a shot stopping keeper - (oops) We’re letting in more goals lately so defence needs sorting - (good luck with that) We need a new striker to play that kind of football - (5 mil and let’s talk about Macca) We also need an attacking midfielder with vision and guile - (you can keep your eyes off Crowley) The more I read, the more I think this could go badly wrong for him. I will wish him good luck though…. I think he will need it.

  13. It’s the time of year to make New Years Resolutions, things you want to start doing or things you want to change. Mine is the usual one I have at this time of year and that’s to lose some weight, I’ve put lots back on over the festive period. I probably need to cut down the alcohol too. Whats your New Year Resolution?

  14. I think my main goals would be to continue on the health front. It's been a bit difficult over the last few weeks for me, what with having a bug and feeling too tired to do anything. However, I made a resolution the year before that I wouldn't push myself beyond my ability when unwell and I have stuck to that quite well. I would like to find more time to do more digital art work. I want to connect better within the Notts community, rather than just being a friendly face and someone who takes pictures at games. Socialising before and during games is something that I need to put time into - even if it's a quick hello. I care a lot about our fan base and I have met so many wonderful people that I should seek out more often. I also want to write more poetry. I have always found it to be a creative outlet towards understanding my feelings and having a natural release. Other than these, I just hope to have more family nights together. I spent time with my dad, brother, and sister-in-law. They mean the world to me, so it would be good to have film nights and catch up more frequently. It would be able to give Kate quality time with our own family who are becoming difficult to get all together now that they're all teens.

  16. @Robbie: I am pleased you are enjoying the Pride of Nottingham. I am also glad that you have found your way to the site, because when someone joins and instantly gets involved it's a sign that something is working as intended. Many people join, but they often become lost or simply remain passive, which is completely acceptable. However, witnessing this can be quite discouraging. Seeing how much you have so quickly become involved, it's great. Honestly, I think @Fan of Big Tone has someone giving him a run for his money in terms of always being on. We appreciate your valuable contributions.

  20. A good keeper breeds confidence in their defenders, Stone does not do that. He isn’t very vocal, he should be barking orders at his defence and helping them out with positioning and spotting the runners. He needs to come for crosses and not be glued to his line all the time. Throw the ball out more, so often we miss counter attacks by our keepers holding onto the ball when a quick throw out is on. He is too flat footed, which makes him slow to react. That being said he isn’t being given much cover by defenders who just refuse to get tight to attackers (Brindley being the prime culprit) to deny shooting attempts. Give Brooks a go, if he isn’t any better then we know to release him.

  21. i think its something which will go along way to reminding some fans just how far we have gone. there is no doubt at home we are more confidence but away leaves improvements. the reedtz have outlined the reasons why we are to be thankful and i for one am very grateful for their involvement in restoring pride to notts.

  22. I don't have any New Years Resolutions per se, largely because I set out my goals a while before Christmas. This didn't stop them becoming derailed though! Weight is my biggest enemy and Christmas saw a difficult and ultimately futile battle to not put (a lot of) weight on. Still, we go again starting this week. So, my goal is basically to get back to running a Half Marathon on less than 1hr 40. Still pretty pedestrian, but it's the first step to getting back to where I was. Likewise my 10km aim is sub 45m and 5km sub 21:30. In an ideal world, I would like to get back to where I was 5 years ago before injury, but age is against me so I am aiming for the above and then see where that leaves me for next year. M first race is 3rd March, City of Newport Half, then the Hampton Court Half at the end of March. Then we will see where things are for an autumn half and some 10kms. Here go!!

  24. @Fozzy makes some great points. we need to move on from conor keeley, look at other options and hopefully find someone suitable to improve the back three. i did think the mentioning at the fans forum that the club is not against looking at european teams as an interesting comment. maybe we will look at the dutch or french players who are available?

  25. Oh. Maybe he just didn't want to move. He was probably rubbish anyway. We'll have more irons in the fire I'm sure.

  26. Last season, Salford City made the playoffs in 7th place with 22 wins, 9 draws, 15 losses & 75 points. I think to be safe in the playoffs this season 80 points may achieve it for Notts this season. Notts have accrued 42 points from 26 games So far. So 38 points minimum from 20 games left is doable. 12 wins and two draws would do it, allowing for 6 additional losses. Anything more from those 6 games would be a bonus. It is going to be a stretch though. We have some tough games still to come against the top four, Mansfield, Barrow, Wrexham, & Stockport, & all the other games will be tough too, but I am confident we still have a good chance of making the playoffs. Thoughts?

  27. All depends on two things now. How quick can we get additional signings in that hopefully improve the side. How quick can we replace Luke Williams (if he does go), and who will be caretaker. I think we will fall short unless we improve our defence before the Grimsby game.

  28. please do add at least a few words explaining your choice, as to make this interesting and not spammy. i think it will be interesting. i am curious to see what the pon members will choose. mines the darkness - i believe in a thing called love i have never been bothered that notts have been poor or average, its what i grew to like about the club. that we tried and fans had that connection with it. i like how fans look out for each other, those difficult times would be different without this. now that the club has the reedtz at the helm and luke williams as the head coach. there is nothing better than watching and supporting notts. ❤

  30. How will you be celebrating the New Year (or not)? We don’t do New Year parties, we beer have really except for small family parties, this year will be no different, tonight we are having one of my favourite curries Lamb Rogan Josh it’s expensive to make but so delicious. Then we’ll see how tired we are and if we want to stay up to see the New a year in, we used to open the front and back door to let the new year in and the old year out but we don’t usually bother now. Will you be celebrating? Is so how?

  32. we have had some very good players over the years, tom keetley etched his name into our history books and thankfully the great season we had last season brought his name back into the minds of our fans with macaulay langstaff's record breaking season. i wished we had footage of keetleys time tho.

  33. i think with the signing of jumior morias we have been unlucky but i do think sometimes when a player is not near to starting, we have a tendency of claiming they have a knock which might be true but i dont think its anywhere as bad as to keep them from starting. ollie tipton is probably one of those loans where the parent club continues to pay their wages without the loan club having to worry about it. i cant imagine he would have been on a considerable amount either but there was no reason why we did not give him a chance. we should have given him some chances, but the most baffling part is when we needed a defensive midfielder he was nowhere near the starting lineup, when we needed a defender again he was just overlooked. i dont think it says anything negative about our recruitment. it might have just been a budget thing for the time, or to see how our squad did. the same recruitment process should bring in more quality in january to help us push on with aims of back to back promotions. i wish ollie tipton all the best, i am sure he could have done more for us given the game time.

  38. It's now 23rd December.I feel good because we are back in the Football League. I feel less confident about us winning matches than I did a few weeks ago. However, I am very confident that we will turn this poor spell around after Xmas. Feeling good, & feeling very optimistic.

  39. I’ve honestly had enough of hearing about Conor Keeley. He’s been touted as our saviour, but most of those saying this probably haven’t seen him play. I haven’t either, so I’m not too disappointed. I hope those who hype up Keeley stop talking about players until they actually sign. It’s frustrating to see our current players overlooked while fans focus on every rumoured player as if our squad is out of date.
    1 point
  40. There are more suitable players than Conor Keeley that we can find. The fact he was linked with Walsall due to the owner connection and us. I would think he probably likes playing in Ireland. It's somewhat an unambitious move in my eyes, but hey he could have done a job here - someone else most likely will. I'm not overly bothered.

  41. That’s a shame I was hoping he was the answer to a few of our problems.

  42. I miss hearing the chant. Yet Meadow Lane is heaven on earth. I propose this, so if you hear it chanted. I revised it! "Luke William’s Notts, we know their worth, Crowley and McGoldrick, best on Earth, Super Baldwin and Rawlo at the back, Thankful to be in the Football League, that’s a fact."

  43. @AmericanPie this has been mentioned on the radio over here, there is nothing racist about it. the issue is those making the connection are properly racist themselves. hes talking about the current state of american with the riots, and madness. not any colour or creed. stupid cancel culture, by bigots and racists themselves. i have been listening to a lot of 80s music as of late.
