  1. Watched the first episode tonight and when you look at what happened it beggars belief that the original software developers and Fujitsu appear to have got away Scot free and in fact still gets paid to support the system!

  8. So we know that Luke has gone and we wait for a new Head Coach to be appointed. A New Coach brings new ideas, new tactics, possible changes in shape, style of play & changes in the team. What would you like to see from a new Head Coach? Will all the players get a new lease of life or might we see changes in the starting 11?

  9. I agree that what you say. Hopefully Dan will do better elsewhere. Agree. It didn't work out for him here. He's much better than what he showed here.

  10. Genuinely thought he’d take us to League 1, maybe not straight away but we’d have got there at some point with him at the helm. Shame his last game was a loss, not the last memory you want or he deserves. The fact we’re getting a large compensation sum softens the blow. When he said he still lives in Wales it did worry me a touch that if he did get approached he could well leave us. A big pay rise too so I get why it would’ve been hard to turn down. Not going to lie but I think finding a coach as good/better than LW is a big challenge but Chris and Alex seem to know what they are doing given that our last two head coaches have effectively been “sold on”. As long as they are still here the future looks good for this club.

  11. I don’t want to be too harsh as he suffered a really bad injury and didn’t play for a year before joining us, but he had no impact on the team on the pitch. He is (probably is - I don’t know him) a decent guy with lots of experience and a good pro for the younger players. However it just didn’t work out, we’ve got Robertson in now so I’m not surprised he’s not staying.

  12. I`m slightly surprised he didn`t make it. He barely played at all. He has great experience with possession based football (Bournemouth) but LW is very picky and stuck with Austin/JOB instead. Gosling just didn`t seem to bring the necessary energy and whenever he got the ball he chose the safer pass instead of being more progressive-minded. Hopefully Robertson will settle down quickly and fit into the style of the upcoming head coach.

  13. Yes @liampie it is dissapointing Notts couldn't persuade him to stay. Luke was visiblely upset when he talked about Jason Turner in his final interview for Notts. Jason's sudden passing affected us all so much & still does. His continued presence may have changed things, We will never know.

  14. i am disappointed not in notts or luke williams, just in the fact we have lost a very good person early on into his managerial career at notts. the reasons for leaving i understand and i wish luke williams all the best. i hope whoever comes in next gives us fans the respect we deserve and we dont go back to someone who does not see the importance we play or the community. i am very hopeful we can just continue to move forward together.

  15. it would have been nice if the govenment gave everyone a break who live on less than a fair living income. the way they target disabled people makes me feel sick, elderly people too. i was worried that winter would be difficult this past year for people due to the energy costs.

  16. he never impressed, it might be unfair to say he seemed poor because it could very well be that he needed further game time but i would not have signed him. i dont think he felt league two was beneath him but i do think his time here will see him show more desire to continue his career. i fully expect him to sign for a league one club now. maybe a team like charlton or burton.

  17. they could temporarily open up a water park. the flooding is terrible tho, i hope its not caused them too much damage. for a small club its hard to pick up from disasters like this if you are unfortunate to experience damage.

  18. i hope we go back to a 4-4-2, but have a manager that can command a switch in formation to suite how the game is progressing. i think this would be the best of both worlds picking up from previous managers. it would also give us a bit of movement with the injuries we have as we are very restricted playing the 5-4-1 formation. it does not allow us to change much with the wing backs. going to a 4-4-2 would give adam chicksen and richard brindley their strongest positions back. aaron nemane, jodi jones will also be able to play their usual attacking focused game with less pressure to drop deep.

  19. True. Not to mention the fact that Sam resigned to force his move. Then you have the different personalities involved (Derek Pavis v the brothers). OK, maybe not the best comparison then! I do think fans have become more understanding of this in general though. Maybe it's because the era of one-club men is fading into the dim and distant past. And outside of football too, people change their jobs much more often than in the past, so maybe they can empathise with players and managers more. Ultimately, we'll probably relieve another club of its head coach or a key employee. It's how the game is now.

  23. I haven't read any anger here, but I have elsewhere on social media. There's worse times for a manager to decide to jump ship and there are ways where it's far worse, I can't let the disappointment lead beyond that. I'm just hopeful the next manager speaks sense and isn't dull.

  24. The issue with young keepers is they will make mistakes. Tiernan Brooks most likely will, but it will help him learn from it. I believe a game could determine whether Brooks is prepared to further strengthen his skills, while Aidan Stone's development continues. I think Notts fans have a tendency to be harsher on the keeper(s) than defenders. I have criticised Richard Duffy multiple times on this platform and on social media. Only for people to defend him, he was dire! We all see things differently, so please don't take this the wrong way but when the defence is criticised too, I have to make the point about the midfield being at fault too. It's never just one way issue though. I think Aidan Stone could prove himself here if we were more solid and less focused on passing back. Ultimately, the new manager that comes in will have to choose about the situation with Sam Slocombe and Aidan Stone. If we don't use the keeper to play it out from the back, and we have tactics focused on moving forward, creating spaces and into positions which the opposition must defend and therefore commit players to defending. We shouldn't need to rely on the defence; I am hoping we see a vast improvement from Kyle Cameron, Aden Baldwin etc with a different focus. Provided we can gain promotion this season or the next, the whole situation doesn't matter because we should improve in stages.

  25. I’m not angry but I am really disappointed that he’s leaving, I do understand his reasons it’s a no brainer really a with it being a championship club and near his family, he’s ambitious and you can’t blame him for that.

  26. I Agree @DangerousSausage I thought Luke was a fantastic Coach and has done wonders for this club which will never be forgotten, but I've been increasingly concerned about his stubbornness to carry on with the same tactics of playing out from the back when the defense is making the same mistakes every game and the total football concept. Don't get me wrong, I love our attractive football but sometimes you have to change tactics when playing away, to a more defensive approach, and when in doubt, kick it out. As you said, a new coach may have new ideas.such as Stopping us leaking goals like a sieve, & take a bit of pressure off our defense & Goalkeeper.

  27. Bit harsh on De Gea @liampie, he was Man Utd’s player of the season for 4 out of 5 seasons and players player in 21/22 season. He only had one bad season and that was the last one, but even now Utd fans would rather have him than Onana who has been dire. You’re right, the defence does need to shield the keeper better but the keeper also has to help and direct the defence, and not talking, claiming crosses and better distribution. Time for Brooks to show he’s good enough, he’ll be 21 this spring and it should be now or never for him.

  28. @Chris agree, I can understand why he went when he did, a Championship club, better Salary, closer too home, chance to get Swansea to the playoffs, but could be a stretch. On the other side, he had lost 7 matches out of the latest 11 Notts played, so he weighing it up, it could have got worse and he'd have been less marketable. In the end, his going could work to our advantage & give us some impetus with a new coach, new players, & fresh tactics.

  29. You could see in his face how much he enjoyed his time at the club and how emotional it is to be leaving. I liked the way he spoke about the players, fans and everything that surrounds the club. It was a great interview.

  30. My site manager, who's a Birmingham fan, messaged the group chat earlier with the message directed to me as "Rooney's available mate " Whoever the Reedtz decide to bring in as Luke Williams replacement, I trust that they'll make a good appointment.

  31. I wish him all the best! Some fans will be a bit annoyed, but it's not like Ian Burchnall and although Luke Williams is by far the better manager. I think it makes a lot of sense as to why he decided to go to Swansea, I didn't believe it until it was confirmed, but I respect and understand why. There's some anger about him leaving us mid-season, but we are in a good position to find a new manager who can get the results we need to push on. A bit of time to access who to bring in, get onto the recruitment of players and allow the new manager to have the final say once the squad is accessed by him. Luke's left us in a great position, so it's hard to feel annoyed. He, unlike who he replaced, hasn't bad-mouthed us (at least yet) and I don't think he would allow a small minority to do so.

  32. LW always managed to handle himself very well when it came to post match interviews, the style of play he bought into the club was to be admired and how much he's achieved at the club, there's no surprise that he was sought after but honestly wasn't expecting it to be this soon. As gutted as I am about his departure, will be grateful for the memories he has given us and I wish him all the best for the future.

  34. its a great interview, i think we angled it in a way to focus on all the nice things luke williams would say about his time here. williams always speaks with such clarity that i feel he could have just spoken without the prompts from the questions. yet he does show how good we have had it and how thankful we should be for what he and the team achieved together.

  35. it feels like its the end of era and one which has been more than a few years. luke williams restored hope within the club, the way he conducts himself and has established himself amongst the players. i respect how he lifted the whole club as its not something easily done. i am disappointed to see him leave, but there is not much notts can do and i understand why he wants to go. its a great opportunity to for him.

  37. Sad to see him go, but glad for what we have achieved under his great leadership. The club will go on & it will put the right person in to succeed him. Onwards and upwards.

  38. He is, but he only has himself to blame. He left us for a club where he didn't even fight to get into their starting selection. Unfortunately, he's one of those people who feel he should be selected regardless of his contributions and, if this doesn't happen, he ends up asking to be transfer listed or released. I am a bit surprised, but I would suspect other clubs in the National League and more established teams will have done their homework better. If he doesn't get into their team, or even do well. It will confirm something is majority off with him in terms of his attitude off the field. I doubt it. A 27-year-old winger, who barely played for his previous club, isn't exactly the type of grand signing any ambitious team would make IMO. I am also of the belief that they could if they wanted sign better players if this were the case. I liked Dion Kelly-Evans at Notts, I thought he was a player that tried and gave 100%, but he had a cult like following amongst our fans.
    1 point
  39. I liked him too, but the NL was probably about his level. Maybe Banbury are ambitious?

  40. Surely Dion Kelly Evans is better than this? I always liked him he was a battler for us, he deserves to play at a higher level doesn’t he?
