Welcome back Canadian I’ve only just returned to the fold, seems to be a bit of a trend, that’s what promotion does I suppose.

They tried to get levelling up money from the government but of course being a labour area it was refused twice but Mansfield Tory area got funds and a visit from Gove. If that’s too political please delete mods.

Tried to upload an image of the spatchcock chicken I’ve just barbecued but it’s too big so you’ll have to imagine it. ????

I spent a lot of time watching the Wembley videos of the match and afterwards. We try to do a walk everyday to keep relatively fit, we don’t walk far these days as Mrs Fan of Big Tone struggles a little but just do what we can around the local area. Apart from that not much happening really, being retired we get up when we want, eat when we want and go to bed when we want, it’s great.

@liampie I love your optimism, that’s the spirit. I hope you’re right it’s be great to finish top of the league above Wrexham.

Being retired I don’t have to worry about work now thankfully but voluntary work for a suicide bereavement support group does take up some our time. It looks like another lovely day today so we’ll bbq a spatchcock chicken and have it with some salad for our tea tonight.

I’m reading a book called 11.22.63 by Stephen King at the moment it’s a time travel story about the Kennedy assassination, it’s very good. I don’t listen to podcasts but I have watched the Magpie Circle videos occasionally which are very good.

Wow it’s been a fantastic day weather wise. I did my park run although my time was a tad disappointing 35 mins 21 secs but not bad for an old bloke. @Chris you sound like my wife she’s always telling me to take it easy and not overdo it. ???? To be honest I’m just happy to complete the 5 kilometres I’m not too bothered about the time or my position it’s not a race. I enjoy it for the sense of achievement it gives me and it releases all those endorphins which are good for mental wellbeing, plus keeping me fit and healthy hopefully. Grandson came round it was nice catching up with him, then my son and other grandson came to collect him and we spent a pleasant afternoon in the sunshine in the garden. I’m settling down now to watch F*r*st play Arsenal on the telly. Hmm I wonder who I want to win. ????

I’m really hoping he does sign but he may well be lured by bigger clubs so until he puts pen to paper we can’t be sure. Let’s hope he recognises that Notts gave him his chance to shine and he sticks with us.

Morning all, it’s a lovely start to the weekend, how are we all? Has anyone got any special plans for the weekend? This morning I’m off to Long Eaton to do a 5k Park Run, I try to get to do it every Saturday, it’s great for mental health, you get a bar code and get timed how fast you do it. You can run as fast as you want or just walk the course if you want, no one comes last as they have tail walkers, there will be around 400 there of all abilities, ages, shapes and sizes, there’s even a chap called Harold who is over 90 years old who walks the course with his sticks. I usually do the course in around 32-34 minutes the fastest do it in around 15 mins and the slowest in around an hour. When I get back our youngest grandson is paying us a visit, so he’ll keep us busy. Tomorrow we are having a bbq, summer has arrived. Whats everyone else up to? P.S. I love the new name of this section in honour of @GrannyPie a lasting tribute. ????

Yes David McGoldrick. If you notice when they cut Charlie off in mid flow and quickly moved on to Mansfield McGoldrick is smiling, I reckon Charlie said something he shouldn’t or it got too heated and they cut it out. I’d love to see the uncut version.

Matty Palmer is no doubt an exceptionally gifted player and we are very lucky to have him, he definitely makes Notts County tick. A bit like Don Masson did all those years ago.

I couldn’t get to Wembley so watched it at home with Mrs Fan of Big Tone, it was so exciting we were jumping up and down and cheering every goal, not sure what our neighbours thought, at the end like @liampie I too am not ashamed to say I cried like a baby. I had got several bottles of real ale ready to either celebrate or drown my sorrows, thankfully I celebrated and drank far too much, the rest is a blur. ???? @Chris I can’t believe how @super_pie has grown. It’s great to see he’s still enjoying going to the matches.
