  1. hello @Marks. welcome to the pon site, please join in with us when you can.
  2. hello, @KatrinaPIE. welcome to the pon community, its good to introducing you to site.
  3. hello, @Cedric. thank you for your help assisting the gaffer, he mentioned that you are here for this reason.
  4. jayden luker looks like a brilliant addition to the squad, because it was him who did all the work to make tyrese hall shine. hall does not always look like he knows what to do with the ball, and at times just looks like hes is nothing all that special but luker really brought him into the game and then hall looked more confident. hall slipped back into the similar play shortly after his goal, but his second really did make a difference. i thought kelle roos did well, even that save he made after the offside decision was a commanding effort to make, that i think he might not have done so well in previous months. he looked a lot better, very calm and collected. scott robertson and matt palmer make a great duo, its a shame we cant see similar with ollie norburn but he gives us options but right now the paring of robbo and skip makes the most logical sense. jatta seems to have lost a bit of confidence on goal, he had some good efforts his finishing lacked but it was great to see him score.
  5. i would like to see more games like yesterdays win over crawley town. notts does not have to score 4 goals week in and week out, but the play and movement was much better. we looked like a team which was enjoying their football, and even if the second half may not have seen 3 of them. i would have left happy winning 1-0, due to the level everyone put in. we sometimes dont see enough from the team together, and if more have off days, it puts pressure on others to shine. gillingham away saw us do this with trying to get jodi jones to unlock things, or for him to have shots away but if everyone is working to a similar level then i think things would be much easier. its weird how we can go from looking like we have never played together, to looking like serious promotion contenders. i think there are various reasons for this such as fitness, signings, change of head coach, etc. but i hope this is a sign that martin paterson is able to push the team forward and make us more consistent as a promotion contender. i was thinking the same thing, as yesterday did show that notts can attack a lot more fluidly than we have seen. crawley was not the best in picking up the ball, or moving it around but even with this said, notts played very well.
  6. it was nice to see lewis macari back in the team, he made a few mistakes but i thought he offered a lot when attacking. defensively it has always been a weakness for him, but i thought rod mcdonald did well alongside him and it was good to see mcdonald pumping the ball forward. i do also agree that jacob bedeau played much better, though quieter in attack, he did the basics and supported well. midfield was a real joy to watch, with matt palmer and scott robertson controlling everything. i thought conor grant had a quiet game, but did some neat stuff to win back the player and to get notts moving. robertson fully deserves the man of the match imo.
  7. the graphics the women's media team puts out are much nicer this season. a narrow defeat is nothing to worry about, so i hope the team dont dwell on the result.
  8. Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Ipswich Town Sheffield United 3-0 Charlton Athletic Cardiff City 2-0 Bradford City Wycombe Wanderers 3-1 Northampton Town Bromley 2-0 Chesterfield Salford City 1-2 Swindon Town joker Altrincham 0-0 Carlisle United Tamworth 2-2 Yeovil Town
  9. i want to see more of rod mcdonald playing those long balls to break the back line, i felt disappointed he did not play one of them against gillingham as it could have pushed them further back. i dont think martin paterson sees how dangerous it can open up play at times when passing just is not working. gillingham liked throwing angle balls into our penalty box. notts needs to be a lot more focused against crawley because they will be a bit scrappy as per usual.
  10. love it mate! its a wonderfully written poem.
  11. i will ask around for you. 👍
  12. darren huckerby was one of my early football heroes, born in nottingham and had a stint with forest but one hell of a striker that could have stayed playing in england instead of going off to the us. he was not that injury prone to my knowledge, but did retire early. he would have been fantastic at notts. imagine him signing the munto season and teaming up with lee hughest, luke rodgers, karl hawley etc
  13. head coach or assistant? he has a golden egg with notts if he can get the team performing better and winning games. whereas being the assistant does not really offer much or if that the same amount of security. wycombe are a good team, but michael duff might find it hard to keep his job.
  14. fully understand how you feel, but its normal for the site to go through transitions and i have always seen the excellence that pon offers. its a wonderful community and you deserve a lot of the credit for that. without your lead, we would not be here but you are right to highlight the members importance.
  15. south america is full of clubs owned by drug lords. i am not surprised to see the mafia branching into football in italy. i would not want to support a team where the owners are that dodgy.
  16. hello, @Jimbo78. are you also a notts fan? i can speak to some people i know that might be able to give better advice, i am sure there are derby based fans here. is your dad looking to carpool? i really hope we can find a means for him to still attend if this is the case.
  17. i wonder if they caused another fine mess. 🤣
  18. Stoke City 2-0 Birmingham City Wrexham 0-0 QPR AFC Wimbledon 0-1 Rotherham United Leyton Orient 1-0 Bolton Wanderers Bristol Rovers 1-1 Barrow Fleetwood Town 1-2 Walsall Hartlepool United 2-1 Brackley Town Joker Wealdstone 1-0 Gateshead
  19. i do think martin paterson will be somewhat conservative and maybe a little more defensive, even if the formation does change or if the lineup is largely the same. i think he will have drilled into the players whilst training that we have to defend with bodies, whilst attacking in numbers. watching how gillingham play, and being aware of their main threats will give us something defensively to work with. i am hoping we play well enough to show that we are continuing to improve, but i wont get carried away.
  20. its nice when we have a striker that is capable of scoring braces, creating goals from solo runs and to see him settle in so well i think he has done amazing. i think it will have helped that he was the main focus whilst jatta was suspended, at least initially and its now when they can form a formidable team together. other club fans can say we are biased, but i believe he does deserve the player of the month award.
  21. i am not sitting on the fence with writing this, but... i think there is a time and place for winning ugly, and winning is very important but so is the level and consistency of good performances. it all depends on the factors and situation, but performances wont always be deserving of winning or all that good. you have to take into account why things happen, such as if we have injuries, backlog of fixtures and performances are not great, so be it. if we are playing a team in better form, win ugly. even local games like against chesterfield and grimsby i would not mind if we were not 100% in. teams we should be doing well against, really should be good performance but winning is what gets promotions.
  22. @Michael D Pie., where you in a cage when the sharks was near? i think i would hate it, even if i was safe behind bars and a cage. i have a fear of open water, sharks and whales. just the thought of being close makes me feel locked up. it looks like you have had a great time, did you find atlantis btw? you could be mistaken as sitting on the thrown in one pic. =)
  23. love reading the comments about what lifeline means to people and what good it has done, i know it was started up to help the club operate if it was ever in need of money and that it has countless times helped with that but it is nice when owners are investing, that the money can be used to improve outdated or much needed areas.
  24. i would like notts to give fans, at least season ticket holders updates on some of the inner working of the technical board. i dont think they should release sensitive information or anything opposition teams could use against us but at least some form of review as to what they are doing, looking at, working on and are implementing from what has been learned.
  25. there is no arm in talking to him and seeing if the door can be left open for a return, even if other clubs are interested knowing that you are likely to fit back in and have a reasonably safe working environment is better than going somewhere unknown. i dont want to speculate on if he will return as i really dont know, it depends on how the relationship was departed with.
