  1. i thought kyle cameron was superb, he had a second effort similar to his goal which was unfortunately off target but the strike which found the net, it was beautiful. i enjoyed the reaction from him and how the away end went into raptures! it was very impressive.
  2. i think connell rawlinson would be fine in the right game. he still has a big part to play in our squad, but games like mk dons, wrexham [as we saw last season] and those bigger games where quicker, more creative teams play. he might not be the best option to play. his awareness falls short, along side his lacking pace in these types of games. its the accrington stanley, grimsby town type teams, where you need someone with no fear and can be physical that he thrives in. i wished luke williams would acknowledge that we need to try something different if a game comes which does not suite rawlinson to start. maybe as a sub things would be different but certainly not to start. there are games he will be fine and there are games that he should not be near the starting 11.
  3. yeah, he did. the way he hung onto the mk dons player near him just seemed clumsy. he did okay otherwise but the error proved to be all that separated us from mk dons. i do think we need to get tighter in these scenarios. we just leave too much space at times. otherwise i thought we out performed a mk dons team that took to time wasting and performing cynical challenges. they were very frustrating to watch especially because they got away with it.
  4. yesterday i drove @TheSkipper and @CliftonMagpie to stadium mk. so far, i thought mk dons has been the best ground i have been to this season. our fans were in very good spirit, notts played some decent stuff. the day was a nice away day, decent weather but very, very warm. today i am at my mums, i picked up some shopping for her and i am preparing to have some food. yes, its sunday dinner. @Fan of Big Tone please tell mrs t we are very proud of her, but insist we want to see her take thing easy. no over doing but congratulate her on finishing. as for you, you are a bad example tony.
  5. i dont think its as bad of a signing as the person in the tweet is making it sound, wrexham will have paul mullin back soon and steven fletcher will become more a rotational or backup option. i stayed up to watch the football league highlight show last night. wrexham did very well in their game.
  6. i think there is more to tranmeres poor form then just their manager, they have been real poor but seeing mark hughes in charge if bradford city and now nigel adkins at tranmere. it feels like league two is starting to attract former high quality managers. it makes it more interesting than seeing some of these championship aspiring managers snubbing teams in favour of being out of work. was nigel doing a role already at tranmere?
  7. ollie tipton, lewis macari, will randall and sam slocombe all in. i do think some of these deserve the game time but i would be a bit disappointed, especially for ollie tipton who seems to be almost certain exclusive for these types of games. given the chance, he might have shown hes good in a centre back position.
  8. my stream was great but i almost game raged at times, its a good job i had nothing to throw at my view because some of the mk dons players asked for it. i am joking, as i was at the game and i would never throw anything.
  9. we gave them all the space and time in the world for their goal, they looked threatening but nothing special on goal. i wished connell rawlinson had gone with the player who scored as he left so much space open, its hard to just blame him as we needed someone else to take his place but we need to be more organised in this situation. defensively i thought notts were the better team. attacking wise too, but both teams midfields put in a good shift. i felt frustrated by the amount of challenges the referee ignored. there was times when even they had a clear free kick and playing on made no sense, it happened more to us but i felt it spoilt the game. as did mk dons time wasting antics. they wanted the game to be slower so they could reorganise and just took to clear wasting time. some of the fouls also, how they went unpunished i do not know. i thought notts were class in the second half, we certainly had them on the rope after we scored but we could not find a way through their defence. i am very happy with the point, i do feel we could have won but mk dons are awful with wasting time.
  10. second half was very good from notts, mk dons did whatever they could to slow the game down. poorly the referee allowed them to get away with it. time wasting like their antics needs to be punished when it happens. they did well when they played football, they gave a good account aside from all their time wasting [which was plenty].
  11. next time hopefully luke williams will get the manager of the month award, it becomes predictable when the efl just awards the team who was top at the end of the month. our achievement of adapting is far more impressive. this stat backs up how impressive it is.
  12. i think both teams will make it hard for each other and it will go down to whoever is most clinical on goal. i am hoping we can at least come back with a point. i know some wont be happy with that but in the grand scheme of things it gives us a base and protects our winning streak.
  13. charlie slater looks like a cartoon character that got dressed in the dark, very odd interview but funny.
  14. its good to see that we have a televised game, last season it seemed we were always on bt sports one week or the other. i hope sky does us justice.
  15. its good to see dan crowley settling in, you can see it with his performances and he does seem to be getting better by the game. he fits so perfectly within our midfield, with matt palmer and john bostock behind him. that quality is a fantastic spine for our midfield with the quality out wide and with crowley notts will always create good chances.
  16. eusebio is one of the legends of football that i recall @Joe Jones writing about on the sister site to pon, football manics. it was a brilliant read. its a shame fm never really took off despite all the work. i had heard of him before but it was that article from jj that made me appreciate him a whole lot more. i dont think clips of him playing does him justice on how good he really was and i think he was better then pele, considering the team brazil had to make him stand out.
  17. i watched the game at my dads, it was a very prolonged showing before the game. some really amazing scenery but it made me keen to see the game underway more than anything. i dont think juventus really played to their full potential and were happy to see the game end level. i do think they made notts work, but had they not been as kind they would have destroyed notts.
  18. it sounds like its between being sacked and walking, i wonder if he was given an ultimatum which he decided to walk away? the clubs tweet is worded a bit weirdly. using all caps just seems unprofessional and as if there is anger behind the writing. i wish neal bishop all the best, it seems hes lost his hair since taking charge so he may need to be less stressed to keep what he has.
  19. its just about being smart and not over eating things which are unhealthy, surely not all ice cream is bad for you? over processed ice cream sounds like something most would want to avoid.
  20. i dont know if i remember him, i do remember the smaller lad that looked good. he warmed up with notts in the first home game of the season. i am unsure how to describe him with todays over pc, but he looked very good. it was not this lad though, i remember another keeper looking shocking in the warmups at nuneaton though.
  21. i like that luke williams is acknowledging that the teams performance has put him in the running for the manager of the month award, its really down to both but the squad might not be so successful if it was not for his management. hes clearly a very good up and coming manager that puts a lot of things into the game, especially when he thinks about how his words influence the players.
  22. i hope he has a good season with them and manages to get the club up the table, i appreciate the fact he stayed on when other managers would have walked. especially with the amount of fans that blamed him for our relegation when he was better than kevin nolan and harry kewell combined.
  23. i did not see notts acknowledge this death which i think is a bit poor if they did not.
  24. lee hughes could not do wrong by our fans until we let him go, but the way he was deemed to be in adequate and then joined port vale. macca deserves just as much love as hughesy did, but i was disappointed by the amount moaning about him not scoring and suggesting he needed to be dropped.
  25. its great to see macca in form, he looks sharp on goal in training. its also a joy to watch him celebrate by dashing in front of the kop to celebrate near the pavis with his iconic jump in the air. hes a great player, even when he does not find the net and deserves nothing but our full support.
