  1. jim o'brien is also a great character to have around the dressing room, his experience and joking attitude can be uplifting, so with him and tobi is infectious with his laughter. the squad clearly take things seriously, but its good that they can laugh things off because ultimately this is what brings togetherness and boosts the morale.
  2. @Dan shared this on facebook, i thought fans here would like to see the non league papers spread on the boston vs notts game.
  3. hello, welcome to pon @JustLikeJuve.
  4. i am looking forward to the game, i have never been to alfreton towns ground and i think it should be another good friendly. i think looking at their squad, we should be able to create far more clear cut chances and will hopefully put them away. this time round, i would like to see langstaff and scott start, they have a good understanding of each other. we really should see more of it.
  5. josh clackstone is a good name to mention for this, i am sure there are plenty of others.
  6. technically, yes they parked the bus but they defended well. their keeper made some great saves to prevent notts from scoring more. attacking wise they were out of depth but defending is something i feel we do need to give them credit for.
  7. i think the game was more positive than some think, notts controlled the game and boston just defended most of the time. we cant always dominate teams and win 3 or 5-0. we are still in the pre season and the squads starting to settle, i thought the performance was quite decent. i praise the boston keeper for his efforts and it was good to see cedwyn scott get on the score sheet.
  8. with us making the playoff final, it feels like the close season just merged with the start of the pre season. there was only a few weeks between and during that point the players were on holiday. even with my work, i look forward to having talking points and seeing what is happening. now we are in the pre season, i am more excited than ever. i am very much looking forward to sutton away.
  9. yesterday there is not a lot to report on, it was mainly work. i did decide to go out for something to eat afterwards but that was all. today i went to watch the boston united friendly, the weather conditions was not that great and about 30 minutes into heading off i did think about turning around. i am glad i continued, it was interesting to see and i thought their stadium was very nice for a non league club. tomorrow i will be going to my mums for until the late evening, then driving back home.
  10. i think notts did okay considering, boston made it difficult and i feel that was the point in the friendly. it was good to see a settled squad for the most part, by this i mean in terms of how we controlled the ball. it was good to see the younger players come on at a point where notts could afford them pretty much a good amount of time on the ball. Stone; Chicksen (Mahovo 76'), Cameron (Cisse 76'), Rawlinson (Brindley 76'), Adebayo-Rowling (Bajrami 55'); Palmer (Bostock 76'), O'Brien (McGregor 76'), Austin (McGoldrick 76'); Jones (Crowley 55'), Nemane (Munakandafa 76'); Scott (Langstaff 76')
  11. i watched a film called american carnage, its pretty much your modern twisted story. pretty messed up but enjoyable for the most part.
  12. haiti had some good chances but their finishing was dire, there was two moments a better team would have punished england. all the effort to split the defence and a very weak shot at the end. it was not the best of games though.
  13. the media team probably did not get chance to take a photo of him, although its good to know the club does have a ceo to help the brothers now. i am hoping that we can now focus on keeping the staff at notts maintained like the playing squad, because we have lost so many staff members who have moved on and i think part of it is due to the high demand in them doing more than just one role at the club. its always the good ones that leave, like alice kellett. its very positive news though and i hope he enjoys the role.
  14. in a traditional numbering system it makes sense, john bostock is highly likely to feature a lot more than geraldo bajrami. other than that it makes little interest because it does make much difference in modern football.
  15. not so far, but i will. i did not realise it was a kick off time before 12pm. it will make it hard to watch due to work, but i can check on the scores.
  16. i think its 40p everywhere in skegness that is a public service, i know the toilets on the beach front in the main part of skegness, the ones at the side of the shopping centre and the ones across from the train station are. its one way to make money for the local authority because lets face it most dont keep the cleaning to a high standard that pubs, restaurants etc are. the amount of paying people, must see it being profitable over the cost of cleaning. it does not even deter those scruffy people from leaving a mess. ????
  17. i read a news report that mentioned it was a gang? i am not sure how this comes about but i hope they are charged with something. its bizarre and dangerous.
  18. welcome to pon, @Nay123. i hope you join in abd like being part of the site.
  19. hello, welcome to pon. i hope you join in with us @NewarkMagpie.
  20. its pre season, if we have players struggling or picking up slight concerns, then luke williams is doing right by pulling them. i am not over concerned about is because i have faith in the coaching team to make the correct decision. its just useful to know where each players at. its also good to know more about junior morias.
  21. i think boston will be a good test for notts, they are a decent enough team and yes we are two leagues higher, but i think they are the type of team we tended to struggle to break down and defeat.
  22. i think he means just better quality of footballers than iq because there are some smart players who are rubbish and some that are thick who are exceptional. i think the benefits of league two is the increase in automatic promotion places and of course hopefully starting good winning streaks. this is another good interview by david jackson.
  23. @MagpieLane nathan claxton did look good, maybe this is just them considering their option?
  24. jordan richards thank you @Piethagoram ????????
  25. dan crowley is looking shaper by the minute, he really performed well against telford. i thought they did look quite difficult to break down at times, but notts persisted and the two goals were brilliantly taken. i am glad we are also not over pushing the players, but taking the right precautions to avoid any set backs.
