  1. its all very positive, its definitely coming along nicely. our home performances have been much better since the Lincoln City game. Luke Williams and the coaching staff are doing an amazing job, the players are also doing so well too. Everything that Williams says, we can see being put into the games or training. i am really enjoying the season so far.
  2. its nice to think about but we need to focus on league two, we are still adapting but progressing nicely. its nice to dream about seeing the club playing at a higher level. i am just glad to be back in the football league and on the verge of being a very good league two team at that. those days of us being average or just moderately good seem long gone.
  3. i have been watching a lot of pundit videos on football, along with vlogs and articles. our recent game against tranmere rovers was a very enjoyable game. not just because of how notts played but also how tranmere did, the game was very lively and i thought the atmosphere made it even greater. but i found myself asking are we being too critical at times? does it effect the fun of watching games back? dan crowley missed a sitter, after david mcgoldrick hit the post from his shot. it bounced around and somehow perfectly found its way to matt palmer. who put in an excellent pass for crowley who really should have scored but placed the ball wide of the goal post. this moment in the game had me very excited, almost on the edge of my seat because notts had put a lot of pressure to score a 2nd goal. reading back, seeing all the comments, i do wonder if we are guilty of being too critical and if it comes as a cost to the enjoyment? i am not saying its wrong to be critical, i am just asking does it ruin the enjoyment of that moment in the game when things that entertain us happen and then looking back we tend to put it under a magnifying glass.
  4. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @Terri. hello.
  5. i dont know why, but i really feel sam austin would do well against them if given the chance. something in my mind is saying that he will score and make it difficult for accrington, tho i dont see luke williams actually starting him even with cedwyn scott's injury, i think he will be on the bench and the formation similar to what we have seen recently. stone rawlinson brindley cameron nemane palmer bostock jones crowley mcgoldrick langstaff the team really does write itself, but i would be tempted to put mcgoldrick on the bench for austin, two reasons, firstly because when they tire he will be a huge threat and secondly because austin likes to find that space inside the oppositions half where teams put multiple players on to mark him. this is why i feel he could score, as he likes this type of game. only time will tell.
  6. i really like connell rawlinson, i think sometimes people can be too critical long term of minor mistakes because overall he has shown that hes a very good defender. yet to hear some fans talk, its like hes richard diffy! [just for you @Chris]. when he scored, i felt so pleased for rawlinson and i hope he continues to defy those who write him off.
  7. it looks like he painted notts supporters in the away end. is the person a notts fan?
  8. i completely agree with this, notts were very dominate until cedwyn scott had to go off. that changed the game, i dont think tranmere would have scored otherwise. i do think they would have tried, but i dont think they would have found the space. i also believe that their player handled the ball before he shot to which aidan stone saved. its what it is, i do hope luke williams hangs back on making all 5 changes. this is probably done to give more players minutes but also to avoid unnecessary added time being awarded.
  9. brill pictures @Chris. i wont be the only fan who looks forward to seeing your faces of pon, so many happy fans. it shows just how good things are at notts right now. long may reedtz era be this successful.
  10. no football panel or live game should ever use him to analyse things, as if he cant do his former job right as a referee. how biased could he be on refereeing segments. i dont think someone who breaks what his role is to support a friend or even someone he works with, it just goes against why hes doing the job in the first place.
  11. did he paint it as the match was ending? it seems a bit of a weird thing for the club to permit. the art is fantastic, really nice but i have seen similar things to this in the past where people just use a photo for the reference and dont actually consume much space. i can see him sitting there right near the end paining on a canvas in the potential way of other fans view. but as i say its a nice bit of art.
  12. out of everyone who had a chance to score, you would never have guessed that connell rawlinson would be the person to pop up and win the game for notts. he has been very good this season, not without problems but he has come back from each of those earlier challenges he faced. continuing to show why hes an important part of this notts squad.
  13. it was a very good team performance, when the crowd are really behind a game its hard not to join in with the chants. i thought everything that notts did on the pitch was just incredible, all the players performed well. even when going down to 10 men we still looked like we could score, but did have a few concerns from tranmere but that made the win just a lot sweeter.
  14. @menzinho i fully agree with you. the chances that could have gone in was not missed or through a lack of effort, it was quite unlucky. in the second half when the ball bounced around the inside of the goal, probably not fully crossing the line but how that was not put into the back of the net, i dont know. it seems we had some strange forces going on that prevented notts from going for in the lead. its probably that notts effect we all dread. the thing that keeps things stressfu.
  15. the team spirit was amazing today, it felt like such a big win and to see it out with 10 men it makes it all the more enjoyable. i thought tranmere were poor, okay going forward but there for the taking defensively. credit to them for their excellent goal, their fans made some noise. i am sure they will start picking up points. i am just delighted with how we played, so many positives.
  16. 1-0, notts has started well. a few good chances already. the score could easily be 2-0 by now and its only 17 minutes in. langstaff almost on target, tranmere look poor at the back.
  17. i am very excited about the game today, i think if notts can start of brightly they can keep tranmere rovers at bay. it should be a good game regardless, so hopefully aidan stone can play a big role in todays outcome.
  18. i have watched all of tranmere rovers games so far, they seem to fall a part when their defence is pressured. i hope we can maintain the ball, as it would benefit us when trying to control the game. i know they have a lot of strengths, but i think we should be able to cause them far more problems. we just need to remain alert at the back, its going to be a very important game, so hopefully we can prove ourselves against them by winning the game.
  19. i think richard brindley does well in the centre of the 3, he looks very comfortable. i do still like him on the right, but i think as a back three hes best in the middle. if we ever needed cover, i would be interested to see how he does on the right wing. when we played with a right back, i always preferred brindley.
  20. i remember the discussion from the poncast when kevin nolan was in charge and the football was not pretty, but we got wins. fans mentioned that winning was all that matters, now that we are playing some good football and winning, if it does not meet those standard even after a victory its labelled 'boring'. at the end of the day, for me its about where we are going, are we improving and is our league position reflecting the ambition of the club? luke williams is doing an incredible job, i have never known notts to be like this and the fans who sing relentlessly at games are making a huge differece.
  21. i love how the langstaff story is snuck in, there is quite a bit of news here to digest. i am not surprised that afc wimbledon have sold out their allocation. i hope some of those youtubers dont get hold of geninue fans tickets, because that can be annoying when they all rock up at a fixture where they dont care about the outcome and just go for the views. also, i feel sorry for morecambe and their situation.
  22. notts are in a good position with being at home, meadow lane has been rocking so far and an early start to the game could yield its rewards. i know its often said but an early goal would make all the difference. it would settle us down quite nicely, i just want us to make sure we put in a strong performance and creative enough to mix the play. tranmere look like they struggle with teams are not reliant on one style of play. our possession play could be the main difference, especially if we use it well.
  23. we really grew a lot during the national league years, you can see similar resurgences with other clubs but notts has always had a special bond with the fans. we just need to keep it going, as for sam austin he put the ball right to macaulay langstaff for a very neat finish, it was only ever going into the back of the net. lets keep this good vibe going and see where it takes us, every fan wants the club to have success and the club needs to have success for stability. no five year plans, just enjoying our love for notts and where it takes us.
  24. i like how luke williams protects his players, jim o'brien got caught out but its not the end of the world. i think some of the comments about minor mistakes are not productive. whilst we do need to cut them out, there is zero point in making it into a bigger issue. we all make mistakes from time to time, supporting the players in these moments without being too critical is the way that they will eventually smooth things out. we wont win every game without conceding, good players force mistakes no matter how poor the squad we are playing is performing.
  25. hes clearly good enough, its always been about that first goal. just as it was about winning our first game. macaulay langstaff will be more alert i feel, as a goal always lifts a player and hes an incredibly good talent. double figures I feel before christmas i feel, but if not he will be the end of the season.
