charlie slater looks like a cartoon character that got dressed in the dark, very odd interview but funny.

I can hardly believe this was produced by the BBC! I’m laughing so hard I’m practically in tears. I don’t think Charlie intended it to be this funny, but it’s absolutely hilarious.

Fun interview! Would have been longer if Charlie weren't pants at padel board though ;)

Yeah, very good little interview that. Very Partridge with the "he's used to putting the ball in the net" comment over footage of Macaulay hitting the padel ball into it 😁

Macaulay Langstaff manages to maintain his composure and respond to questions with a straight face, despite the temptation to burst into laughter. One can’t help but wonder about Charlie Slater’s choice of attire.

Odd, interesting and funny interview. It’s strange to see the pedal centre pushed in the interview. I suppose Charlie Slater didn’t want to 1 v 1 Macca at football.

I like a laugh, but I think this is a bit too silly, and as for the interview, it just seems pointless. I don’t want to sound too critical, but when I keep thinking why? It does make you wonder what the point was. I guess I just prefer professional, sit-down interviews.

I think this is a good example why I struggle to take Charlie Slater seriously: it's funny and different. The interview itself is decent, but Charlie just comes across rather annoyingly. His questions, whilst I get they were aimed to not be answered and added to the quirkiness just becomes a stretching chalkboard to my ears. It's good that he has the confidence to do this sort of thing, but his swagger is another reason why I have always struggled to like him.

This part is perhaps the harshest, but I am so glad he's moved on from doing our coverage.

Unfortunately, no.

I mean for clarity, I wasn't one of these fans who complained he had covered Mansfield and held that against him when he first started. It's just very rarely do I think I could stand listening to him for more than a few minutes. I stopped listening to coverage because of him. I did like his banter and interactions with Mark Stallard but if anything, it was Stall winning over in that department.

Everyone has a character they dislike like this, usually it's me. 👀😁😂

I find it rather amusing and delightfully peculiar, indeed quite distinct. It’s a bit pointless, asking questions in a skit that are unanswerable. The Paddle Centre is constantly bustling, so I don't think it really needed any additional promotion.

@TheSkipper that’s good to hear the extra income will help.

It's more like a skit rather than an in-depth interview, so there isn't much substance to it. Of course, it's enjoyable, and we acknowledge that Macca likely made the right choice in pursuing this sport. However, that's essentially all there is to it.

Any media coverage is positive when most of it is focussed on West Bridgford, and we seem to be getting quite a bit nowadays (except from the local toilet paper), but I don’t really understand how it actually made the TV as it’s more of a YouTube thing.

I don't think we heard all the questions, so I wonder if this is a fun piece, but the more substantive information will come elsewhere.  I think the purpose really is to show Macca as relaxed, fun and enjoying his time at Notts and not a lot more.  I liked it though.

Yes exactly that, there was a longer piece on The East Midlands news programme with more appropriate questions, this was just a fun piece as you say @Ohh Tommy Johnson

Ahh we only get Brighton and South East London news here - despite being miles from either! Occasionally they mention Gillingham but rarely more easterly (unless it is bad news).
