Notts County Vs Walsall Fc

First thing I'm going to type here, I do not want to see a repeat of our away game against them. I'll only accept if we start as we ended that game, 25+ minutes of domination but this time for the majority of the game. :P

It would be nice to see the flag in the Kop! I loved that at Peterborough and was it Bristol City last?

@sadlad how many Walsall fans do you see coming?

It should be a lively encounter, I like the type of football our opponents play but I think under Derry they will find us more of a match than the last time we played them. Very unlucky not to come back with 3 points but I won't dwell on past games!

Hopefully our resident saddler will tell us all about their threats and he's kindly agreed to do our Opposition View!

Thoughts?

I am 100% that in the back of my mind that our trouble is behind us, only hiccups from now on @notts-joe. Just reading your 5 game preview, I really like this feature. I think we will win, home crowd and good football to show.

3-1 would be my prediction.

i will be going also, looking forward to the game. i hope the weather picks up, its been bitterly cold and very windy but its the rain i am concerned about. if it comes down like earlier, no chance the game will go ahead.

notts are playing better and i think we can win them. i see it being another high scoring game 3-2? knowing that it will be 1-1.

I have a good feeling about saturday, i think walsall will see a much improved side.

The attendance should be fair, local game and play-off chasing. They should be a good crowd but I'm useless with score. Better not to ask!

"Walsall ace cheered Notts County on at Peterborough but now wants to take them down."

I wouldn't really be concerned about Sam Mantom, I personally call him 'PhantomMantom'. I wonder if Sadlad would agree? I just hope they go to Meadow Lane and underestimate us! I think Sam will be in for a surprise!

Walsall will be a tricky proposition. They had a good game against Brenftord last week. I reckon 1-1. Also, should we turn haplessness into humour and begin doing sweepstakes on which player will get sent off this time?

Difficult game, but I think we'll surprise them. 0-0 for the first half then Notts going on to lead 1-0 with a tight last 15 minutes.

I'm hoping for a win and better play all the way through the game. Even better now Mcgregor is back.

25th January in history

On Tuesday night the history of the date was on our side, and we lost (albeit bravely). For tommorow, the record on this date is quite poor so here's hoping the outcome is different!

You only have to go back a couple of seasons for our last game on this date, but a lot further for our last win!

25th January 1966 - Notts County 0-1 Hull City (Division 3)
25th January 1969 - Notts County 2-1 Peterborough United (Division 4) - scorers: Don Mason & Geoff Hall

25th January 1983 - Swansea City 2-0 Notts County (Division 1)

25th January 1986 - Notts County 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur (Divison 1) - scorer: Ian McParland

25th January 1997 - Walsall 3-1 Notts County (Division 2) - scorer: Tony Battersby

25th January 2005 - Macclesfield Town 5-0 Notts County (League 2)
25th January 2011 - Hartlepool United 1-1 Notts County (League 1) - scorer: Lee Hughes

I'm confident 3-0 to Notts McGregor, Grealish and Campbell Ryce.

By the way @weymouthPIE the king's name is Don Masson NOT Don Mason, tut tut.

My S key is be a bit dodgy ;)

Was actually very surprised when I looked in the shop the other week that they didn't appear to have any of the legends tee-shirts with Tony Hateley on, unless they've sold out?

Brought the Les "bomber" Bradd one in the end. Not one to wear on a flight to your summer holidays I don't think!

You're forgiven, thanks for the stats.

Now that we have our Wonderboy's all set up nicely where they can just slot in together.

I don't want to take anything away from Walsall (Very good team, Tables don't lie). However i think this could be the game if we keep 11 players on the field we could do some damage.

I'll go for a 2-0 win, but thinking more

I agree this will be a difficult game, yet I think walsall will take the lead. I dont know, I just have this feeling that things might not go all our way. The hard work will eventually pay off, 2-1. Late goal for us to clinch the 3 points!

i dont feel that confident today even after the decent performence in the week walsall are a good side one we have struggled against last couple of years though i would of said at start of the season we would win im gonna stay hopefull tho.

I'm getting ready with @super_pie who said he doesn't know who to ask questions to for his blog, I've told him he doesn't have to ask question but he insists that he does so I warn people to be on the look out.

I still feel like Notts will win! I don't like being over confident but I can't help this.

Walsall will give us a good game, that's for sure.

Difficult game but hopefully Mcgregor returning will boost our performance today.

Poor communication and defending for their goal, defence seems shakey. We look out going forward and Enoch appears to be up for it.

30 mins in I feel we can get back into it.

Losing 3-0 at half time, this is really bad, it'll take on hell of a team talk by Derry at half time to turn this round.

Just not at the races!

I would be happy if we can another, despite feeling like we've made 'em look better.

Callum Ball nearly scored.

Just a blip on the way to the Play-offs, it happens, lets move on nothing to see here.
