We went to our local pub last night and they happened to have a beer festival on. I tried the Toffee flavoured beer, it was a bit unusual to say the least but not unpleasant.

What's the strangest alcoholic beverage you've ever had?

Staying with toffee.....  Toffee Vodka

Still not sure those two flavours should even be anywhere near each other

I've tried this and it's weird.

Whilst on my holiday a chap called "Jim" (I think) approached me, granny, super, cheeky and the kids. I was quite wary of him and personally from the off due to his appearance I would openly admit had he spoke to me first - I would have told him to disappear (you would have to see him to understand).

Anyway, he spoke to Super. Asked for a light, he then kept asking to buy us all drinks.

Very funny person but bordering weird, though he wasn't unpleasant. He got a round of drinks despite only Super agreeing (Super did say he was okay twice and that we was going).

Super seemed more on edge, which made me very much on guard.

Once the drinks arrived, after Jim told numerous jokes. He had this cocktail thing, fluffy cream and banana tasting. I forget what he called it but he said Pilots often drink it and if it was good for them, it's good enough for him.

We remained chatting and he was actually very decent, we all left thinking "what was all that about?".

Myself and Super thought he was going to ask for money etc.

I am not a fan of toffee, yet now is the time when people tend to be eating the stuff.

Beer should never have fruit or anything like toffee in, least that is my view. Why play around with perfection? Just a nice cool pint, what is wrong with that. Love smooth beer myself.

I suppose you'd have to taste it, as I said it wasn't totally unpleasant it was a subtle flavour nothing too overpowering but I admit I prefer normal beer without the fancy flavours, it's just a gimmick really.

Now if only they added honey! That might get me drinking it.

(I know there are beers and lagers which do)

Whenever I go up to a bar I always check what 'real ales' are on offer but never go for the fancy, odd flavoured ones

I might give this a go sometime, do you like it dad - @super_ram?

I'm quite fond of my whiskey, though I rarely drink it. I do like it on it's own (preferred) but on the rocks can be refreshing.

Never tried it but it does  sound quite tempting.I'm quite partial to whisky and dry ginger on a cold night.

If people knew you like me, this would make you sound even more booze mad. :P

In fact, Kate said is that basically every day of winter. LOL

Yes, I had a pint of Adnams Broadside, a couple of pints is more than enough for me these days, Mrs. H. almost always has a half of what I'm having. She likes dark beers as a rule.

When I was in Belgium I tried all kinds of weird and wonderful beers. My favourite was a cherry beer of some kind, tasted a lot better than it sounded. The worst one was a chocolate beer, truly horrid.

Last night I actually tried a beer that said it was in the Guinness Book of Records for the alcohol percentage. It was OK, tasted good, but couldn't have too much of it. (Certainly not a pint!)

Maybe we all ought to offer you lessons. 1 lesson per member and then you decide on the best teacher!

Mines an automatic so it's a little different. In fact it's a lot easier. Like driving a dodgem car. Point and press. ( hopefully with less bumps though!!!)

In fact nearly everything on my motor is auto. Parks itself, auto wipers, headlights, auto blind spot warnings, radar controlled cruise so you can't crash!

Even got automatic nagging wife in the passenger seat!
