Paddy McCourt

I've seen him play over here in the League Of Ireland. Incredible talent. His first game for Barnsley sums him up. Rounded 5 or 6 players and scored. Injured himself in the process. Sums up Paddy......

I was going to say he used to be very highly rated, skilful and direct. Good ability on the ball but I haven't heard much of him for the past 4-5 years, I know he had a injury where he ended up being released - that might have been early in his career. (don't take this seriously) I used to sign him because of his reputation of FM 05 and he made a decent player when I ended up in the Premiership.

Obviously he's at the tale end of his career now but he's still a good player.

The only concern is what's been said about him being offensive and unable/willing to defend, our attacking isn't the problem. We need players to defend, except our striker! Especially Bajner!!

I think we have lacked someone with the ability to beat a man with skill. Once you bear a man it gives you a much better chance to create an opening, and since we lost Grealish we haven't really had that touch on the ball. Could Paddy be the answer? Let's hope so!

I genuinely think this is a major signing for us. If he stays fit (always been his issue) then he does have a serious dose of class about him. Hayhurst needs to develop alot more and has shown he is unable to beat a man. Paddy can beat four men and still go on to cross or shoot.

Looking forward to seeing him in the b & w.
