Notts vs PNE

Our game in hand. Both sides desperate for the points for different reasons. We drew up there earlier in the season. They haven't closed out their last 2 games despite being the better side so we have hope.

1-2 I reckon. Can't see us getting anything. They are a much better side.

We're going to score in the 89th minute, I will text my son to tell him we're winning and then PNE will equalise at which point @magpiejue and her mum will brain me :joker:

If the players responded as to how we know they can, we could get something but I'm afraid it probably won't be in the form of a win. We need to protect ourselves, score as early as possible and make sure we retain the ball but Preston will be eager to do all of this themselves. They will want maximise their reminding games in terms of points, most likely more than we, however much we need them. It could be an 'awkward' game, the players must get the crowd on side.

That will make much of the difference.

If we don't play well, the ground will feel lifeless and I wonder which minute people will start to leave to go home early.

Hopefully this won't be the case but we need a miracle, one which I don't think will happen and I'm afraid it's time to swallow the truth. At least next season we should be one of the most competitive teams and if we do somehow beat Preston (Hayhurst to score?) and this is the game whereby we survive, I hope the 'competitive' comment still applies.

I'm actually looking forward to the game.

After browsing and finding out about the last three matches in my absence, I don't rate our chances against PNE.

Seems like 1 step forwards and 2 steps back except if we take another back we fall off the cliff into League 2.Β

watch us win, its typical of us and then we will lose the last two games.

i really hope we can survive but i will be around if we drop, nothing could stop me now. i just hope we play attacking football because that is the answer to our problems but we dont have the players to enable this tactic to work week in and out, i do not expect them to batter us.

For me this is the least winnable game of our run-in, with both Donny and Gillingham having nothing to play for. Those latter two games give me a glimmer of hope, but if we go into them needing two wins having won something like 3 of our last 30 we really will be in dire straits. These things do happen in football though. Preston dropped points against Orient, so maybe they're starting to bottle it.

It is going to be hard but try to keep the faith in Notts.

I'm terrible at score predictions, so I wont have a go at that but I do think our home form is changing. Lets face it, it would not be hard! I just dont see us winning but a draw and two good results against Donny and the Gills? Could we?

I hope we play two recognised strikers upfront on Tuesday.

I have no doubts it will be hard, yet we seem to make it harder for ourselves and easier for the opposition. I am taking the remaining games as they come, I won't say anything about relegation or safety, as it will play out and whatever I say will make little difference to that.

You Pies

Why am I even nervous for this game? We've got next to no chance, I've already accepted our fate. But I've also decided if we do manage to get a result tonight I'm coming up on Saturday. It's that little glimour of hope you cling to that kills you...

I think it's called 'delusion'. I suffer from it also.Β  :lol:Β

BBC are on the ball:

Centre-half Paddy McCourt is a doubt for Notts County after limping off in the weekend loss to Crawley.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce (knee) is out for the season, but midfielder Liam Noble could return after resuming training.

Preston have no new injury concerns after Scott Laird (knock), Jermaine Beckford (ankle) and Paul Huntington (back) all featured last week.

The Lilywhites have just a one-point lead over third-placed MK Dons after back-to-back draws.

Centre half? Really?Β

I'm hoping @super_pie will come tonight, I have my doubts but it would make a difference.

I went on my driving lesson confident and looking forward to the game tonight, however I have fallen into the 'dreading' bracket and that's not so much because I think Preston will beat us but because I just don't enjoy games without Jake. Hopefully the lads can cheer me up, stranger things have happened!

*Sigh

Please people, be optimistic and loud. We've got all summer to pick at the scars this season has left behind. There are still 9 points to play for and a place in next season's League One is still up for grabs. Would have been nice if the club had done a two for one offer to fill the ground a bit and cheer the players on to some points, but oh well.
