The fixtures are out today! Do we get our late summer trip to York, or maybe we'll celebrate promotion there?? When can Mansfield fans look forward to their trip to the big city?

All will be revealed in 21 minutes and counting!

Stevenage away followed by ... drum roll ... Mansfield at home! Good crowd guaranteed!

Carlisle home last day. Not bad.

Mansfield at home on the 15th is a bugger. We're in Norfolk for the two weeks before and driving back on the Saturday 15th. I'll have to get the wife to drop me off at the Lane and wait with the kids, cases and the dog around the corner until 5pm!

I was going to come over in October but I might have a rethink now. The mix of it being our first home game, the first derby against that lot in years and hopefully plenty of early-season optimism (on both sides) will guarantee a five-figure crowd. A potential valentine's weekend in York is also interesting!

I generally go to the London games. AFC Wimbledon is out because of work. Dagenham and Redbridge & Leyton Orient are out because I'm going on holidays around then. That leaves Barnet next April. Disappointing but what can you do? The Wimbledon one is a real bummer because I think we'll be promoted and I won't get a chance to go there.

Edit: Stevenage is only half an hour by train from London. I didn't know that. Looks like 1st game of the season is a real possibility!

Away on Boxing day and I'm certainly not going to Hartlepool, but at least the New Year games are both home!

The Mansfield home game is likely to get moved as those across the river are at home on the same day, don't know whether us playing another local side gives us a better chance of keeping the fixture though. At home for last day of the season is nice!

It's just depressing right now to face the fact that we are a league two club, I don't think opening to Stevenage is the best fixture but the others are not bad.

Mansfield early on would be good though.

i think we have a great fixture list, decent start and if we can get momentum behind us, it should survive us well. no complaints from me :)

It seems us or Forest will have to rearrange a game, as Forest play @BradtheMiller's Rotherham on the same day that we play Mansfield but I have to say I think the fixtures have been kind to us.

I see us being able to build a run and really god forward.

None of the opening games we should be scared to play.

They may move Forests due to the nature of our game, it would be policed better on the day arranged rather than a Tuesday night.

I don't want to see it moved but if it happens, oh well.

I doubt they'll allow both games to take place on the same day. I wouldn't bet against them moving our game to 12.00 be it on the Saturday or Sunday, it seems to be the done thing for "high-risk" games.

I hope they do, we need a good attendance and money in the coffers.

Ahhh, the fixtures have been kind to me, Carlisle 19th Dec, Hartlepool on Boxing Day... and for the last game I am dragging some of the natives down to Nottingham.. Mind you I hope we don't scare them with the running water and leccy an all that

The fixtures are pretty decent, I have no complaints myself.

I think getting Mansfield out of the way as early as possible would help us, the team they are building could quite easily match Notts and I just think that they might be getting used to each other as we play them, which would be useful to us.

@thepieofbilbro I know what you mean, no disrespect to any of the sides but very few really stand out as being 'big' clashes.

That said, I think the standard of opposition within League Two will be much higher than the last time we were in it. It should make for interesting games to occur, I just hope that our class shines above others because I am noticing comments by fans regarding Luton and even Mansfield seem to have built a decent squad. I get the feeling it will be quite tight this year.

@notts-joe yes, no disrespect meant at all, I just meant about how we have ended up being back in the 4th division. Hopefully this will be the start of something good and we will sweep up just as we did in the Warnock era.

@thepieofbilbro well I told @Joe Jones off for mentioning 'back to back promotions', yet with the squad we are building it's hard to see how it could be strengthened further if we do gain promotion at the first attempt.

It would be great if we could have 2-3 seasons where the optimism remained around Meadow lane, it could really bring happier times back.

PS, We have a mutual friend BTW @sadlad :)

Roll on the end of the season now! Hopefully our fan base get behind this and attempt to make the majority of the above games when possible.

I cant wait for the mansfield games either!

I heard about P.O.N through sadlad on Facebook. I didn't get to see him over the last couple of seasons as I always seemed to be doing something when we played Walsall. His knowledge about his club, and football in general is amazing.

I think we will see more games rearranged myself, so that makes the fixtures a little more annoying but provided December is kind to us, at least then it may not be backlogged up.
