Accrington Stanley (A)

It's FA Cup 3rd Round weekend but because of our inept display at Salford, we will be in league action this weekend. We drew 1-1 at home against Accrington in August. Notts played very well and should have been 4 or 5 up before Noble got sent off and the inevitable late goal to level the game.

Stanley are absolutely flying this season. Instead of being the relegation candidate many thought, they are pushing for a playoff place. They are 7th in the table with 39 points (9 more than Notts and they have 2 games in hand). They have scored 38 goals (1 more than Notts) and conceded 26 goals (a whopping 18 less than Notts). Again it's easy to see why Stanley are 7th and Notts aren't.

Stanley have lost 2 of their last 5 games. They lost against promotion chasers Portsmouth and Northampton. Given the opposition, this is no disgrace. They won 3-2 at Mansfield in their last game.

Stanley are an exciting team to watch. They play a 4-4-1-1 formation. They mix pace and power with 100% commitment. Notts could learn a lot from them. Jason Mooney in goal has been superb this season. Their defence is solid. Matt Pearson at RB is one to watch. He's getting better and better. Conneely & Crooks in CM are excellent. Crooks especially. He'll drive forward at every opportunity. Josh Windass plays just behind Billy Kee and he has been a sensation. Stanley will do well to keep hold of him. Billy Kee is flying. He's joint top scorer with 10 goals. These 2 have to be kept quiet.

I have huge admiration for Stanley. They may have a small budget but they have a fantastic manager in John Coleman and they have a wonderful club spirit. They are in a much better place than Notts right now so I'll go for a 2-1 home win.

I'm not feeling confident now, I did but that's changed the current circumstances.

Accrington are a decent League 2 team, yet I think the push they're experiencing will eventually stop but sadly not again us. If we play two up front and focused on passing, who knows? Yet I see another disjointed performance happening.

A field where dreams become reality.

I would like to meet a fan who would be confident considering.

Accrington should be a team we beat but we most likely will not, I wonder which of the existing starting 11 will try to take the game on and get something out of it? Campbell seems to have been silenced as of lately but I would hope he can contribute to the any result.

If we score, we just better not concede easily because its starting to become silly now.

You would have expected Moniz to be given the time whilst they looked into his options but it seems we will have the inexperienced senior team duo again. I am not happy about it because it will cost us!

I'm a bit concerned that the score will be P-P looking at the weather forecasts.  Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing as we would have a new manager and maybe new signings for the rearranged game.  If it does go ahead anything we get would be a bonus for me, we just don't seem to have the defensive strength to withstand pressure away from home.  If I was pushed for a prediction, it would be 3-1 to Accy unfortunately.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

Pray for rain because we aren't going to win this game under the present circumstances, the players are badly lacking confidence so if it does go ahead I can see a defeat, I'll go for 3-0.

You see @tonyhateley. Even after the change of manager fury we can still agree! I go 3-0 as well and again, pray for rain

Let's see what the weatherman brings first. I think it may be off with a water logged pitch!

Any hurricanes Michael?

Accringhton 3 Notts 0 we can't defend and while smith and aborah are in the middle there is no legs and we will get ran ragged.

If Curtis starts in the middle we have energy so not so easy then but I hope it's called off til the new gaffer is announced becuase we are dreadful away.

And Dryden and halsall team selection is as bad as moniz so expecting a thrashing if it's on please Lord make it rain snow etc
