Only in America. In Britain you'd be sceptical.

I originally had sceptical, but it gave me a red line, so changed it.

I blame @notts-joe's software.

Wow, the knives are out for AH before he's even taken over! The admin claims are nonsense, why risk losing control of the club after spending millions to buy it?

I'd prefer Hardy for the reason that we know what we're getting with him - a chairman who knows the club and genuinely cares about it. I'm always dubious when I hear talk about billionaires, if they're so rich why don't they just buy a bigger club?

One thing disturbs me about AH though. IF it his him and he does take over, he needs to learn from his predecessor and reel in his social media activities.

I get a red line under everything. My computer wants me to write in Deutsch, but I refuse to integrate!

My ideal scenario would be for the club to be taken over by a local multi billionaire, and committed Notts fan.

That person in my dream would be me.

I can deal with the local, and Notts fan bits but Unfortunately money does matter, and in real life I am a few billion short. I am willing to accept donations though.

I reckon it will be the Americans I'd like it to be hardy but I think trew rejected his last 7Figure offer not sure how much it was.

Also if a local buisnesman took over and did better then the trees I reckon that would look bad on Ray and he wouldn't like it one bit.

I belive it's the Americans who have the deal done and dusted

American owners.....urgh.....the club will be a franchise and the fans will be customers.......Not something I could stomach to be honest. If it is Americans, I'll be stepping off planet Notts County for a while. Time to go to a distant planet where Americans haven't gone yet, I was thinking Berwick Rangers would be ideal.....

Genuine question. Have American owners been a good thing anywhere?

One slight bonus, they're much less likely to be crooks than Russians, Italians and people from the Far East judging on Pompey, Leeds, Brum etc. Obviously there are exceptions to this, e.g. Leicester.

Don't think we can jump to that analysis on the basis of them being American. If they are yanks, willing to give them a chance first.

Dude that's your browsers fault, download the English language directory and set it as your default afterwards. *swiftly pointing back towards you - tut tut...

Money don't buy you love, we just need a fresh change and a new direction.

I'm at work, so it's either Deutsch or US English. Unfortunately the IT gestapo won't let me have UK English :(

well Liverpool ain't doing to bad are they last time I checked they were American owned but who knows who it actually is

And Aston Villa are in dire straits. Americans don't understand the concept of English football. They don't understand that a team is deeply rooted within the community. They don't understand that football is not a commodity. Making them understand these concepts is difficult, but not impossible. If it is to be Americans, they need to adapt to the club, not the other way around.

If it is Americans, let's just pray it isn't Albert Scardino, back to have another crack at owning us!

I wouldn't say that Liverpool are doing that great and neither are Man Utd, nor Villa under American ownership.

Let's just hope that if it is, then they appoint some very experienced British people into the day to day running of the club and all they do is watch the games and sign the cheques!

Aston villa have always been in dire states under Doug Ellis they was never pullin up any trees.

And my mates been a villa season ticket holder all his life and he said before randy leaner came along they were always on a tight rope since Oniel left.

But until we know who it actually is 100% we can't judge could be a Chinese group for all we know unfortunate we can't say all Americans are crap owners they may be a exception who knows

I don't think we can say all that much, at least until we know who the buyer is and of course see what they do. I'm hoping everything is positive, though it may take time for us to move forward. Any new owner should be given time and judged after they have started sorting out everything which is required.

It's a UK hedgefund or an Asian consortium. Well a Hedgefund's alleged illegalities have effectively killed Coventry.

AH confirms on twitter that he is NOT buying Notts........it seems that he is pursuing other business purchases.

Ray tweets that a deal is "close" between the hedge fund and Asian consortium.

Both have met my asking price and now its a race to the finish line. I expect a announcement will be forthcoming in days rather than weeks

To set the record straight........there are two serious buyers left in the hunt. All other buyers have been discarded.

So no Americans. That's a relief. A hedge fund wouldn't be ideal. So that leaves the large Asian corporation.

Why do people like Ray Trew even look at Twitter in the first place?

There's certainly a lot of twists, I'm reading nothing into thus until a takeover is confirmed. Things are changing to frequently for me to show any more interest in the takeover but I would note - Its a shame Hardy has firmly pulled out.

Hope whoever it is that buys the club, understands our history and principles. COYP!

Let's hope Vincent Tan hasn't decided he wants another club! I've just completely lost interest now, the sooner its done with the sooner we can start slagging off the new owner

 A Phoenix

I'm literally struggling to find words over my laughter. How can you even describe these tweets?

But casting this public relations master-class aside, what he says is of semi-interest. If we take his word as gospel, then we have 2 buyers that are lined up that match RT's valuation, that's a positive.

From my very limited understanding of hedge-funds, the title is usually branded about to describe spoilt rich brats, or a group of people that amass a  certain wealth and invest it in businesses', ventures, etc... to establish more wealth. Neither of these particularly appeal to me. Whether or not this particular hedge-fund is different, remains to be seen.

Asian consortium is still a complete unknown.

I just hope that we end up with someone, or someone(s), that will run NCFC in a fit and proper manner. Someone that has a plan, a half decent budget, a half decent method, and the gall to stick to said plan.
