John Sheridan

I really hope we don't sack him, lets get him two big strapping centre halves and players who want to play for the club and then see where we sit.

The whole club is surrounded in apathy at the minute and we need to stick with strong personalities like John.

I felt quite awkward listening to the BBC interview with him, he seemed unable to complete sentences or even answer them.

It was interesting to hear him say he needs the chairman's support, this was mentioned when Colin Slater prompted John quite forcefully into answering what John would say to Alan Hardy once he comes in. I really got the impression that our manager doesn't believe he will be in charge, nor did I feel the he thinks he will speak to Alan either. It sums up the state of the club at the moment - hopefully Alan Hardy will support him.

However, with us seemingly getting rid of staff - it would look like John Sheridan may get his way regarding personnel.

Sacking John Sheridan will create a loop, we must battle relegation all together and the new chairman needs to inspire everyone. From staff, players and even the fans - its time we believe. Make the decision at the end of the season, which would give anyone the chance to fix what has been wallpapered over by Ray and his disappointing era.

Brave wordsΒ @Northants Pie , I agree still , many will call for his head for sure than you can put ya money on , but like you, Β let's back him with 5 new players , we need a big turn over in players now and in the summer , but now is massive for league safety , sure AH will will know the path to take and I'll be backing his decisions .

Some fans are so far up their own arse they cannot see what has been staring them in the face since the title winning season. Changing the manager achieves nothing, whilst i agreed with Fullash!te all the others have had big question marks over them.

John Sheridan has taken over the remnants of at least the last three managers squads and tried to do his best, whilst he has added to this with some of his own players it is abundently clear that he knows like we all do that some of them haven't achieved what we all thought they would have.

If he wasn't here, Β he'd be the manager we'd all want.

Like i said before give him 2 big strapping defenders and people who want to wear the shirt and then see where we are.

He needs a whole new back four that have a physical presence and an ability to organise. the only other outfield player we need is a half decent winger with pace that has the ability to actually cross a ball.

Duffy, Hollis, DickinsonΒ and Laing can all go inΒ the bin as there isn't a decent defender among them and they're all afraid of getting hurt, especially when up against a physical forward. The only defender that I would even consider keepingΒ is Audel as he can actually head a ball and also play at left back.

The rest of the side from midfield upwards is not that bad for league 2 standard and would easily see us safe as long as we can stop shipping goals.Β

Stop sacking managers and give him a new back four instead.

The reality is we have lost again. It's his team, Duffy starts...No creativity, no passion, a second half where the Carlisle could have packed up and gone home with 10 minutes remaining, such was our attacking prowess. Sheridan should walk, we are heading towards the conference

It's a strange situation right now. I wouldn't go sacking JS and making it even more unstable. Notts won't go down as Newport & Cheltenham are shocking. AH may well have to wait to bring players in in order to clear the debt. Let's struggle to a 22nd place finish and start again next season.

We absolutely must bring players in , how many can we bring in is the big question ? I personally wouldn't trust these defensively speaking to get us safe , strong defenders are needed and defensive cover from midfield .

Sometimes you need to step away to look at the Deadwood. Just no confidence in JS as he continues to pick Duffy. It hasn't worked out, we need new managerial blood...Just maybe I am the sole lone voice on this

No ya not the only voiceΒ @Piethagoram anyone I'm sure can understand where you are coming from , I can , I just want a culture change pal , risky as it is , players have let him and it must be said themselves down to , I'll go with what big AH does , it's a massive call either way .

last night I was sitting on the fence, but at 3-0 down and it sounding on the radio as though the players have given up-Β

its time for JS to go.

The strong personality that has failed to instil in the players a reaction to the previousΒ eight defeats?Β

As it stands we are still out of the relegation zone, but we can't rely on two teams being c****** than us for the rest of the season. As things stand with Newport drawing we are bottom of the form table.Β

I have no confidence that JS will pick the players that will get us out of this mess, nor have a game plan for them if they came. I don't need to name his replacement - I haven't invested 5 million in Notts - but the man who has will be buying a non-league club if he doesn't bring a new manager in.

Β

This is a totally spineless performance , stand up and be men , like the last post JS is lost in this situation , wrong time for him , we must change , I've been saying stick with him , Β but I can't maintain that stance , but I must say these players are spineless fit only for none league football , with only one or two exceptions , we are in one hell of a fight for our league status .

The last thing I want is for us to sack another manager but it's increasingly looking as if there's going to be no way around it. Trouble is, we're damned whatever we do. If we fire JS, while other teams are strengthening in the January window we will be looking for a new manager.

I'm starting to feel the same way, yet I hope that John Sheridan can be given support to turn this around.

The players are letting us down massively, they have no fight but that said Sheridan made several big mistakes today. The formation needed work considering how Derry setup Cambridge - we could have easily reverted into a system to counter this. Yet the defence again shows that it isn't even up to the task, combined with the useless Collin in goal. I really would love to know why he got the nod over Loach (who's done better).

I think Adam Collin would be better with a defence that could tackle/attempt to win the ball but he's no replacement at all.

@notts-joe Sorry, you still want JS to be given support? Unbelievable!

You mean rather than blaming everyone else for the obvious? That's unbelievable @Piethagoram.
Β

Well let's hope its Hardy replacing him and that it was his decision.

Funny that in the match chat today, someone wrote how if we was in this situation without John Sheridan - people would be calling for him. The players and board have massively let another manager down. I imagine in six months certain people will proclaim we shouldn't have sacked him.

The right decision? It's hard to say.

He hadΒ lost the dressing room but will the spineless so called professionals come on board for the next manager? After 9 defeats in a row, it makes it harder to turn things around. I am worried who may come in, it needs to be called right. Sensible appointment please Notts!

Sack the players also, whilst I don't doubt there were issues with JS the sh!tebag players should get the boot, those spoilt, churlish, wastes of air got him the sack and they should follow him out the door.

Papering over the cracks until we get rid of those tw4ts.

They quite clearly don't want to play for the club as they would give their all irrelevant of the manager.

I for one have had enough of d!ickheads like them, I'll always support the club but I cannot and will not support the spineless arseholes we have in adundance.

The way Notts feels right now its horrible.

Never felt like this, never felt so much uncertainty and I had hoped Sheridan could overturn things because I question who will come in. I wouldn't want to risk my career to come here, I just hope Alan Hardy manages to get someone who can keep us up and that gives us enough time to re-build.

It's a real shame it's turned out this way , the club was a mess when he came in, not of his doing , the players have in my view let him and themselves down , the club and the fans , to be honest it was a big call either way , no doubt he will go on and be a success elsewhere .Β

The next appointment will come in with a new owner , whose positive approach and backing will give them a chance to bring better times to the lane , who though ??? The revolution goes on .
