Michael O'Connor

Notts have made him another offer, this time only a 25% cut, if you can believe rumours.

There is only a finite amount of cash. Luton were losing 30k a week and got promoted. We lose the same amount and don't get promoted.

Obviously striking positions needed strengthening and that comes at a wage cost. Collins and Forte released, transfer fees paid to Chesterfield and Oxford.... The budget has to be adjusted to fit the cloth.

I would still transfer list Alessandra and Noble to free up budget space for O'Connor and an out and out winger

ah spoke about us having half a mil left to the budget last season, i dont know if that is just a story but i think we should have enough to sign the remaining players required. i think we will end up filling some gaps up with loan players.

The extension should have been left to the last minute, if Notts are going to learn from this they need to offer deals within the season and use it to breed confidence going forward.

I hope Michael O'Connor signs, he's a good player.

But the subject seems to be taking the focus of pressing matters and I'm fed up of hearing all the non news about this story.

There's always one story which drags on longer than it should, you would have thought had discussed how much they want around a table and then struck out a figure there and then. I want Michael O'Connor to stay, but I will soon change my mind if this continues.

It's best for the club to end the discussions at some stage if a deal cannot be agreed.

If he doesn't accept this offer, it makes you wonder why the club tried to offer him a lesser deal in the first place.

I've always said that the best players need to be given contracts early, I know things change and that you have to be mindful of the budget - yet unless we do this, I just think these contract issues won't go a way. We want players who want to be here, so let's no undervalue them and if we don't feel we are getting value for the money, go out and sign a player who would.

I really hope Michael O'Connor does stay but I think its logical at some stage just to let go if he doesn't want to sign.

There's no hard feelings, I just want the club to move on.

A field where dreams become reality.

I think part of him wants to stay otherwise he’d have gone to one of the other clubs interested, he’s possibly hanging on to try and squeeze a bit more out of Notts. At some point Hardy has got to say “final offer take it or leave it”

Players will soon know if the clubs wants them that offers will continue until they are accepted, just like what happened with Liam Noble.

He needs to show his hands, if he wants x amount he should say and if the club cannot meet those demands the club shouldn't offer anything below it.

Why we are chasing him so much is beyond me.
