It was family commitments

Featured Replies

think people dont really care about the subject now at all, im not being funny. we all guessed it had something to do with family, some fans are mad and others more reasonable. we can only wish him well from here.

It's probably family and money, but who knows?

I just wish Michael O'Connor all the very best and I hope his wife doesn't regret him leaving.

A field where dreams become reality.

He wanted to live closer to his family, that is far enough but I would have imagined he would have stayed if the contract was right. I think the club may have wanted him to go by offering him less, just a thought.

We need a new midfielder now with experience.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Any Notts fan still complaining should move on, he's left and his family is one of the reasons. I wish him all the best but Michael O'Connor isn't our concern anymore.

I agree, people should be more annoyed that we tried to undervalue his services.

If you want a player to remain at your club you have to offer a deal which reflects that, and if it doesn't he will leave. You can't play players peanuts and expect them to ignore better offers. Yet Michael O'Connor isn't our problem anymore, he's done the best thing by his family.

I think family reasons came into it but money must have played a part too, Lincoln isn’t a million miles away, I agree with @upthepies if the club were serious about wanting him to stay they should have made it impossible for him to reject the offer, money talks, if he’d been offered a good deal he wouldn’t have bothered about the location.

I imagine that Lincoln’s offer was very near or even slightly better than Notts so he thought he might as well move and save travelling time and costs, no ill feeling from me, footballers move on and he’s done what is right for him.
