Have you ever seen a shark in person?

On the back of the shark attack discussion I have posted, I wonder how many PON members have seen a shark alive with their own eyes?

I have seen several types of sharks out at sea, including Great Whites, Hammerheads and Bull sharks. It's scary to think how dangerous these sea creatures can be, most don't look friendly either.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I have seen one off the coast of Skegness awhile back, this was quite a few years ago when a lot of seals and a huge whale washed upon the shore. I only saw it from distance and I thought it might have been a dolphin, however it never left the water.

Otherwise only in aquariums.

Yes ,saw Basking Sharks off North Cornwall coast about 1985.Apparently there were quite a few sightings at the time due to hot weather. @GrannyPie and myself also saw a huge Porbeagle  Shark, which had been caught locally ,hung up on display at Falmouth  harbour in the same year. Close up  inspection of the sharks mouth with all its sharp teeth convinced us that if these sharks are safe we really don't want to come up close with any Great White's
