some interesting insights with Neil Warnock!!!!:frantics:

Notts did get the better of this deal with Phil Turner moving to Notts

Quite a long article about his career.

I'd agree that we easily got the better end of that deal as Phil Turner was a great player under Warnock. I also forgot that Nicky Platnauer went to Leicester from Notts as well a few years later.

He did and let's just say that it didn't go very well.

Yes, he played for us back in the late 80's, left under Warnock and then returned to us in the mid 90's.

Oh yes... took over from Billy Deardon with us bottom of League One. Brought in some new faces (I think David Pipe was one of his) and seemed to be guiding us out of trouble but the revival was short-lived and we eventually went down. Was sacked him the season after with us near the bottom of League Two. He did well in non-league afterwards (think he got one club promoted to the League) but was a very poor fit for us.

Alot of info that we can only think of.

I'm the reverse to @liampie, I knew he was a former manager but I didn't realise that he had played for the club.

I can understand why people suggest not to get ex players back to manage us now. 😛

Some good coaches should know their limits but we can't blame them for trying, it makes you wonder sometimes how differently things could be if it had worked out.

Neil Warnock always demands credibility from his squads, he's not afraid to pull the line or get in the faces of players. He warrants that respect and asks for nothing less so he's bound to be successful especially when he knows afterwards it needs to be dropped.

Good man manager unlike Gary Mills.

What a grim thought, Gary Mills and management.

If Gary Mills had money could things have been different? No. No. Not for me.

Awful manager, good coach.

It is an interesting article just took me ages to read.
