  1. Nice to see that it is back up and running @Chris and thank you to all involved for their hard work. Rumour has it that although the site was down @Fan of Big Tonewas still able to access it and live on here as normal!

  2. It's not without saying that I care passionately about the Pride of Nottingham and Notts County. Our recent downtime had been caused by a cyberattack, where hacker(s) caused significant damage to our site. This attack is unjustified and the people responsible cannot validate their actions. Football is about unity, whilst rivalry is a natural part of the game. To resort to this type of behaviour is very cowardly and in the long run what did it achieve? No amount of excuses can humanly explain this behaviour. At this stage, I can't go into the full details, but there will be a point where I will provide a further update. I fully believe in transparency and accountability, I hold my hands up and say that I should have done better, and I can honestly say I will learn from this in the future. I will ensure that the best practices are used to avoid such a pathetic attack. I can say, without a doubt, that only damage was conflicted. No data was accessed. Passwords are encrypted within the database and nothing was retrieved. I have made sure to check this, along with a friend who is a very knowledgable person within this field. We could have been back somewhat sooner, although I did take the time to move hosts. You should notice the benefit of us running a dedicated server, with a lot more resources behind us. I wanted to ensure that we thoroughly inspected every area of the site, considering the extensive number of files. It is important to dedicate sufficient time to this task. The worst scenario would be to neglect corners and wish for the best. Further security is being used and whilst I politely ask that we focus on the positives, not the issue I outlined in the start. I do share your frustration about the downtime. I sincerely hope if you read this you will get behind the Pride of Nottingham, and we can firmly pick up from where we were previously. COYP! All the best. Chris

  4. Apologies @DangerousSausage,I've just found your post elsewhere. Right, where were we? Firstly, by the time the site went down, this round (11) was done and dusted, I'd posted your scores and the latest table and the usual hilarious banter was underway. Half of the posts on this thread are missing, but the good news is that I've got ALL your scores and the latest table (including round 11) safely on my PC. I'll post them again later. When the site was zapped into cyberspace, I'd posted the fixtures for round 12 and a handful of you had predicted. Obviously that round is cancelled, as well as round 13 (which would've been yesterday). I'll try to fit them in later in the season, or failing that we'll do a couple of rounds with double points. Providing we don't have any more hiccups, I'll post the fixtures for round 14 on Wednesday!

  5. Thank you @Chris and everyone who was involved in getting us up and running again! Good to hear about the new host as well, as least something positive has come of it.

  8. As the news spreads and members return I'd like to say "Welcome back".There may be a few who drowned their sorrows yesterday but come on,,as someone said to me on Saturday "worse things happen at sea".As the old song says-Pick yourself up,dust yourself down, start all over again. As Delia said"let's be 'aving you"

  10. I regret to say that those responsible for the disruption seem to lack empathy and may be misguided to target such a welcoming platform. Their actions could be driven by ill intentions. I was relieved when the site was restored, as I had been puzzled about its absence. When I saw the maintenance page, I simply thought there had been a technical issue. It’s comforting to see the site back and functioning efficiently. I truly missed browsing and reading PON. It indeed holds a unique charm.

  12. I was filled with anger, frustration, and worry for @Chris. He dedicates a significant amount of his time to managing this platform, often going above and beyond for us Notts fans, and yet he seldom receives the gratitude he deserves. The cyber attack must have been a dreadful experience for him, which is utterly disgraceful on the part of those involved. It’s a relief to be back online, and I’m confident that it won’t be long before everything returns to normal. The sense of community here is unparalleled, so I hope that everyone will find their way back soon. Together, we can demonstrate that Notts and PON are the go-to places for our fans on the internet.

  13. We started the game very well, I thought the games' outcome would be so different despite Mansfield looking good on the break. The reason Notts lost the game simply comes down to how we started to fail to manage the game. At 1-0 up, we became very content with having a narrow lead, too content. It took away our urgency to get the ball forward and, to create further chances. It became a very slow and patient game, which really suited Mansfield because they grew into the game. I would also say, Mansfield wanted it far more than we did. I think nerves started to creep in, and we made things a lot easier for them. The amount of times one of our players played a very simple pass but did so straight to a Mansfield player, I lost count of this, and it formed part of the issue. Defensively, I thought Connell Rawlinson and Aidan Baldwin did very well. I need to see the highlights again, but I felt disappointed with Richard Brindley. I think he could have got closer for Mansfield's opening goal. The marking process was extremely sluggish and lacked efficiency. People were criticising Sam Slocombe, but there was zero urgency from any Notts play to make space for him to distribute the ball. Hence why we started knocking it around the back, such a lack of creative ideas, or he would smash the ball up to David McGoldrick who I felt would struggle to win the ball simply because Mansfield always had 2 to 3 more players around him. Whereas we just seemed to sit in the middle of the pitch without pressuring or trying to open space. I feel very disappointed in the performance. Our midfield simply wasn't the best it could be, even John Bostock made several poor passes and would lunge into tackles without much though. His yellow card, it was a very silly foul. However, once he came off. You could see the difference, Jim O'Brien just didn't fit the game all that well. I think as a team, we failed to handle Mansfield, who were a very decent team. I am comfortable in saying, they deserved the win and played much better than any team we have faced so far. The glimpses we had of making a game out of it really ended once we conceded our 3rd goal. The service in our attacking play, wasn't great at all. The reason why I feel so disappointed is that we could have played so differently had we not settled for so long on the 1-0 scoreline. That a lone can be dangerous as it is, people may say, well, Mansfield made it hard to attack. We didn't make the space, nobody thought to get that fluid movement going. Aaron Nemane made an effort, but unfortunately, he didn't perform at his highest level. I just feel like these games are what we should be doing much better in.

  15. Just to mention, I am aware something is throwing an error within the themes. I'm hoping to get to the bottom of why the avatars won't show in topics. The issue is caused by a bug in the moods feature. I forgot to say thank you to Richard, Terabyte and my dad! All three have been a huge support.

  16. Thinking positively I am looking forward to PoN getting back to full strength, we were doing so well just before the attack and we can get back there again with the help of the community.

  17. It was really disappointing wasn't it? I haven't seen us get outclassed in a long time. Just our luck for it to be against them. We started brightly, got the quick goal and then handed the initiative to them. Mansfield pressed us hard and played high up the field to put our defence under pressure. That's a risky tactic against us when we're on song as that leaves gaps behind, and we're only a couple of good passes away from a good goalscoring opportunity. But yesterday we showed the opposition too much respect and just dropped deeper and deeper. Much of the possession we had was between the back line, which was an accident waiting to happen. Mansfield were better and braver and deserved to win. Having to change the back line before a game like that is less than ideal. Slocombe couldn't do anything about the goals, but his distribution was poor. The visitors were excellent, but until the second goal (which was a gift) they'd created few genuine goalscoring chances. You can see why they draw games they deserve to win, and without Bostock's unnecessary belly flop and that free header it could have been another frustrating afternoon for them. But of course they absolutely murdered us after that and we really can't complain.

  18. The match we’ve been waiting for since our return to the league, a sell out crowd, Notts top, Mansfield unbeaten, what a match it promises to be, I just hope the players don’t get hyped up by the atmosphere and make any silly mistakes. I also hope the fans on both sides behave themselves and we have an enjoyable match that’s safe for everyone. I’ll be going with grandson @George L we are both really looking forward to it. COME ON YOU PIES!

  20. I thought Mansfield really did a job on us. Yes we started well and scored but after that we couldn’t get the ball into midfield or our wingbacks so the defence passed it around a bit, got pressed and then passed it back to Slocombe to kick long. We then didn’t pick up enough second balls and just looked a bit passive/all over the place. It was worrying how thread bare the squad was. Scott and Bajrami would’ve been good options for us that game it’s a real shame they are missing. And then to have Cameron, Chicksen, Randall (did we accidently forget to register him to play) and Jones all out. That meant the bench was weak, Morias was our only attacking option but the fact only O’Brien and Adebayo got on says a lot. Might as well send Macari and Tipton back as it feels like they’re just here to make up numbers at the mo. That result and peformance was very unexpected. Don’t get me wrong the overall picture is still very good, but the goals against is becoming a tad worrying now.

  21. Like you say I've no idea what attacking a site like this achieves, no gain for anyone really. It's great that's it's back up though, I've been boring my family and friends with all my Notts thoughts and opinions this past week!

  22. Our domain is currently blacklisted, most likely as a result of the cyberattack. Prior to it, I had no issues with emails except for duplications which would sometimes be sent. I am disabling the mobile apps' integration, until I can get that issue to be resolved. Due to this circumstance, you will not receive any notifications through our app during this period. Once resolved, I will look to get the app back in working condition. Did anyone receive any strange emails between the site going down and backup?

  23. Notts fell apart, I completely agree with what @Chris said. We sadly missed Jodi Jones, but where was Will Randall? This match could have been a good opportunity to see his contribution but we just collapsed. Hats off to David McGoldrick for his efforts, he seemed keen to make a difference and not many players can claim they performed at this level.

  24. Everything seems well managed, there was no need to rush. The unfortunate events were beyond your control and it’s sad that there are such malicious people out there. I hope they face justice, but as a community, we should concentrate on ourselves. It’s wonderful to have the site back! I’m excited to see it bustling again.

  34. What an absolute disaster that game was for Notts. After a flying start with a goal from Crowley in the first few minutes I was full of optimism but it didn’t last, apart from a brief spark just before half time it was all Mansfield, they pressed superbly well and we couldn’t get into the game. Once again set plays we’re our downfall, I think Cameron was a big miss in defence and it didn’t help when Bostock went off injured. I don’t blame Slocombe for any of the goals but thought his distribution could have been better. Mansfield thoroughly deserved their win and we need to improve drastically for the Gillingham and Wrexham games.
