  1. why do i get the feeling he hung on to see if a league club would show interest? i dont think it would show all that much commitment. i thought his heads was in the clouds and he never shown any of the promise that came with signing him. will randall should have been much better.
  2. the players and stuart maynard have done very well so far, i am encouraged by the start but i am more pleased that it shows our owners were right to back maynard. he might acknowledge the support which backed him, but there was a lot of unneeded pressure and the signs right now show hes perfectly fine in the role of head coach. i am so pleased that the lads are now more his players and have the results to show for all the hard work involved.
  3. at least its consistent to a point, all they need is to make sure they have firepower. it would be easier to start drawing and then winning, but i do think its a sign of a team that has lost many of their better players.
  4. its really nice having a young talent like him at the club, where his focus on purely on enjoying football. i think this makes a large difference when you coming in and playing your first senior games. i think george abbott is a very patient and hard working player who looks like he could be a very important signing for the club even if hes on loan.
  5. well done @super_ram, you have made a very good start this year. also nice to see @Joshua climbing. a bit of pressure now on @ARLukomski and @allardyces tash. catch me if you can @TheSkipper and @CliftonMagpie.
  6. great pictures mate, i am sure plenty of fans appreciate these. ????
  7. i have seen paul devlin interacting with fans on social media and he seems a very down to earth ex footballer, who has a mutual love for notts. i never knew he had a trial with liverpool, it shows that there was thought he would go on and i think tamworth probably helped to keep him focused in having a career in football. his ability to play in different areas seems to have been a plus too, great to read this!
  8. notts played very well, against a team that knew that their fouls and challenges would make it more of a challenge. i dont think they looked like scoring, we just looked calm and i never once thought notts would concede to accrington. their player smuggly trying to take on bass when the offside went up and he knowingly still tried to play on. bass was determined just as much as our defenders to keep a clean sheet. we cant get carried away tho, accrington played well but are in poor form and we just need to take the positives.
  9. i think its great to hear fans chanting about the team being maynard, the pressure last season was not needed and it just made things harder. hes doing well, which goes to show what the board and the reedtz see in him as the head coach. i think the squad is more his now, where some of the players dropped their heads after luke williams departed. i think its why we allowed the likes of john bostock to go. the players that have come in are maynards and its great to see his confidence coming out.
  10. i thought notts played very well, i think for 90 minutes the performance was very good. considering accrington wanted to slow down the game and tried to play negative football as a means to combat just how well notts played in all areas of the pitch. midfield was just as superb as the defence, i honestly felt calm and like we would not concede today. the players showed their determination and fought hard for a win. the second was just notts on cruise control and wave after wave of chances. i cant fault that performance, they made me leave feeling a buzz and proud. pon match report
  11. he is very calm and commanding, it must give the defence confidence when they know the keeper will come to catch the ball or push it away. along with his general presence, i think how he sees keeping clean sheets is important because he spoke about that when he signed and with time i think we could start picking more up.
  12. Barnsley 2-1 Bristol Rovers Joker ???? Charlton Athletic 2-2 Rotherham United Cheltenham Town 1-2 Harrogate Town Colchester United 0-1 Bromley Doncaster Rovers 3-1 Gillingham Braintree Town 1-3 Woking Gateshead 1-0 Barnet Hartlepool United 0-1 Halifax Town
  13. i think its less of an headache with regards to mcgoldrick and jatta, one or the other will start and then most likely whoever is the sub will come on around the 70th minute. despite didzys goals against swindon, i am mindful about him being overplayed. he scored two very good goals, but i think the fact that he might push to further make his presence known and that would benefit home from coming on in the second half.
  14. sven and his time as director of football at notts was a rollercoaster of the season but having him around, with all the managerial changes i do think helped keep the squad together and focused on the pitch.
  15. accrington stanley has always been a team that impresses me, as they have given us tough games in the past and play well as a team. i think they will see a different side to notts this season and i think it should be a good game. i do think keeping a clean sheet would be nice, alex bass has looked good and only beaten so far by very good efforts.
  16. he was always a joy to watch running with the ball and taking people on, such a callum mcgregor type goal. very pleased to see him doing well.
  17. he was mentioned in the opposition view, he did well and looked like one of swindon towns best players. they have been having issues where they have not given players all that long in contracts, most previously would need renewing. thier owner has been making a lot of poor choices. a fun thing i learned by speaking with some of their fans, they own 50% of the stadium and that means it prevents the owner or club from doing silly things with it.
  18. i have one of those devices which records my speed and the dashboard, so that i can prove my speed. i have been pulled over twice, once for allegedly driving to slow and once for speeding. both times my dashboard cameras and speed monitors proved otherwise. the police love to try to catch incident people, but you never see those driving like maniacs getting pulled over.
  19. it would have been nice to have a few more days where it felt like summer, not boiling hot but warm enough. with nice wind, but the thing about the uk is the weather is never going to be kind to us. ????
  20. i remember reading about a non league team that used caravans as a way to allow teams to get change. i have tried looking it up but i cant find anything, it was a very low down team. not the same thing but this is interesting, it shows unsual football grounds. 21. welcome to the pride of nottingham, @Kate Kilgore. its great to have you with us.
  22. training day, so late break for me. i should be finishing about 5ish. its been a bit of gloomy day, with it raining in spells and work has not been all that busy. i am thinking about treating myself to some fish and chips later, i do usually cook at home but sometimes i like to treat myself. there is not a lot happening in my life at the moment.
  23. usually its the agent(s) who make things difficult because they obviously make more money by the players joining a new club. sometimes they can get good money from renewals but the more a player earns, the more an agent can request for their services. its the players decision, but some agents can be very negative. i dont know who represents jodi jones or dan crowley, i trust them to make a sensible decision once they feel comfortable knowing where notts are heading. i agree with @Piethagoram, the club is probably keeping an open dialogue with them regarding contract extensions. as for the statement, i appreciate it but i am not worried. i like the transparency that comes with the club informing us, even if it is written as a pr statement in case people complain.
  24. i know adam hassell described it as a smash and grab, but i thought we had the chances to win. it was not like we didnt. mcgoldrick showed his class but the difference between the two teams were the defending. notts did well in this area and really showed a robust approach to handling swindon town.
  25. i think it shows we cant always play him and expect his magic, hes started this season well and is taking the chances given. it was good to see him start and score twice, i think this is what he brings when we rotate.
