  1. fair play, i try my hardest to give credit when it due to opposition teams, so its nice to see someone commenting and saying nice things about us. obviously anyone can say whatever they want, its an opinion but its something i welcome. fans should praise the good things about the teams they play, for example i though accrington looked decent from set pieces and used their height advantage well. they looked like a good team that works well together.
  2. time will tell, but i dont like how our fans are comparing him to his grandfather. it means nothing and we have had many players connected to good players that have turned out to be a waste of time. i think he wont play much if at all, it seems a filler signing. i hope he does well but i would have rather had someone that is ours.
  3. i know an oxford united fan who told me their fans see a good player in him, yet have not seen anything spectacular so far. if he settles in properly, as five games in is way too early especially when you are appearing as a sub, if he breaks into their starting 11. he should be a player that wins them over.
  4. notts are far more appealing to fans of all ages now, i just hope we can maintain them when we are not doing as well. there will be a time when notts are not chasing promotion or are struggling. these numbers makes a difference, yes they will drop because some will find their reasons for not staying when its harder. yet right now we are living the dream. i wished we could put the away fans in the family stand and fill the sirrell with our own. if the club did this, i think we would see the kop less busy but still looking full. the players would come out to three side of our fans. something to consider for the future. seeing this us beat 10k for every home game so far is great to see.
  5. @Piethagoram @Elite_pie i love your new signatures. jimmys quote and the witty granddaughter comment.
  6. their manager seemed like he was not happy before the camera started rolling, but his points expressed does go against some of what he said. he failed to mention all the fouls they made on jodi jones, aaron nemane, richard brindley, macualay langstaff, david mcgoldrick. at times it was almost like they thought, the ref would not give them a yellow so taking a notts player down would give them a chance to stop us from being a threat. they did very little to stop us, i agree that we just slowed down and allowed nerves to get the better of us. accrington when they played football did look like a good team, but nothing special. for the budget i assume they have, it is impressive what they are doing but pretending to want to say nice things about his side, only to moan makes him seem a little daft and biased.
  7. the photos before the game and early on, shows how things have changed at meadow lane. so many happy faces and long may it continue. our fans were great again. its good to see these back, keep going @Chris.
  8. any links which have x.com wont embed. you need urls with twitter.com in it. as i said, pon does not recognise the switch in urls. you are not doing anything wrong, i think iphone is the first to be almost completely x.com, android is less forced to upgrade and if you use twitter.com on a browser that will still work. i would give palmer and bostock a rating of 7 each. bostock did a lot of defensive work and contributed going forward. palmer, was as consistent as anyone and had a lot of time on the ball where he gave it to the right areas.
  9. i am going to my mums tomorrow, i will be fetching her shopping first [she will be with me] and then its sunday dinner. i will probably be back home by 5:30-6pm ish. if i get chance there is a few things i want to pick up. today i went to meadow lane to watch notts go top of the league by beating accrington stanley. i went in the club shop pre game and regretted in, its always way too hot in there but the service was the thing which left more to be desired. i bought some things for my home, so that notts was always around me and spend a good amount of money to be made to wait whilst others chatting got served before me.
  10. @KB1862 @Chris i wished i went, i can remember watching the game and commenting on here, it was a great cup draw and game. i hope we can get back into having decent cup runs soon, being draw to championship and premier league teams are a nice difference. liverpool really showed their class, sterling was brilliant but at least we made a game of it.
  11. welcome to the pon site @Banquo.
  12. its just crazy, the over priced transfer fees is a joke but at least he had had a few good seasons since breaking into forests team. the chelsea signing from brighton takes the biscuit. spurs have got the better deal.
  13. we are top of the league, say we are top of the league. its something to enjoy, something to celebrate and encourage. i am staying grounded but i can honestly say i have always had the faith that we could reach the top at some point, so soon? maybe not. but i always thought we would be in the mix. i felt disappointed after sutton, but i quickly became my usual self and i do think we can maintain this. provided no dirty team injures our players. i thought accrington were quite dirty today, taking out langstaff several times, kicking jones to the floor many, many times.
  14. solid performance by notts, i dont think anyone in the post match part of the discussion were incorrect for expressing their strong belief in the team. yes, accrington made it hard but our quality shined when it mattered. accrington really need a more mobile striker, josh andrews did okay but for the most part he was isolated. the chances he had with his feet was not that convincing either but they did well as a squad. i am so pleased we managed to put on what was a great performance. i think jodi jones had a quieter game but it would be difficult considering the amount of times accrington took him out, the referee really was not fair towards jodi or richard brindley who got kicked in the back rather pointlessly. also, how jodi was given his final warning for the accrington players diving effort into his boot [low to the ground] was beyond me. i thought the referee was dire. glad he did not cost us the points.
  15. i thought accrington stanley looked like a decent team, but with no disrespect intended nothing special. they are not a side i would want notts to allow to control the game, as we saw what happened after we took the lead and they grew into the game. i just feel our quality really shined, especially in the second half when we created chance after chance. langstaff had several efforts, so i am pleased he got two today, even though he was limping before his second. awesome performance!
  16. @Fan of Big Tone i think most pon members are able to put mistakes past once the game has finished, some may need a day or two but usually common sense prevents it being long term. i was not bothered when dan crowley missed, but its the type of thing had notts drawn some might have been a bit critical of. i think enjoying the game first and foremost is important as thats what we pay to see, a good result is only a bonus.
  17. please do add at least a few words explaining your choice, as to make this interesting and not spammy. i think it will be interesting. i am curious to see what the pon members will choose. mines the darkness - i believe in a thing called love i have never been bothered that notts have been poor or average, its what i grew to like about the club. that we tried and fans had that connection with it. i like how fans look out for each other, those difficult times would be different without this. now that the club has the reedtz at the helm and luke williams as the head coach. there is nothing better than watching and supporting notts. ❤
  18. Middlesbrough 2-0 QPR Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Blackburn Rovers Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Derby County Northampton Town 0-1 Wycombe Wanderers Morecambe 0-2 Salford City joker Newport County 0-0 AFC Wimbledon Maidenhead United 2-1 Woking Rochdale 1-0 Halifax Town
  19. thing is, the way notts plays it makes sense. we dont just run needlessly into space and once the confidence in a game is reached and we understand the opposition we cut out passing the ball backwards. its at that point, usually in the second half when we start to play with more purpose. thats when the speed really comes into it and teams struggle with both slow and fast, because we have a talented group of players.

  21. its all very positive, its definitely coming along nicely. our home performances have been much better since the Lincoln City game. Luke Williams and the coaching staff are doing an amazing job, the players are also doing so well too. Everything that Williams says, we can see being put into the games or training. i am really enjoying the season so far.
  22. its nice to think about but we need to focus on league two, we are still adapting but progressing nicely. its nice to dream about seeing the club playing at a higher level. i am just glad to be back in the football league and on the verge of being a very good league two team at that. those days of us being average or just moderately good seem long gone.
  23. i have been watching a lot of pundit videos on football, along with vlogs and articles. our recent game against tranmere rovers was a very enjoyable game. not just because of how notts played but also how tranmere did, the game was very lively and i thought the atmosphere made it even greater. but i found myself asking are we being too critical at times? does it effect the fun of watching games back? dan crowley missed a sitter, after david mcgoldrick hit the post from his shot. it bounced around and somehow perfectly found its way to matt palmer. who put in an excellent pass for crowley who really should have scored but placed the ball wide of the goal post. this moment in the game had me very excited, almost on the edge of my seat because notts had put a lot of pressure to score a 2nd goal. reading back, seeing all the comments, i do wonder if we are guilty of being too critical and if it comes as a cost to the enjoyment? i am not saying its wrong to be critical, i am just asking does it ruin the enjoyment of that moment in the game when things that entertain us happen and then looking back we tend to put it under a magnifying glass.
